I started playing 6mm epic in the early 90s. I was obsessed with anything games workshop up until 2004 when I started collecting 18mm from AB. After watching this video I am now strongly interested in starting 6mm. The chance to have bigger battles with a far wider range of movement sounds good to me. Thanks for the video!!
I started out in the early 70's as a kid with 6mm, I really enjoyed it, it was not really until I started with D&D and Warhammer that I even knew of any other scale. I loved Epic and Warmaster. Looking at what I am getting in to with the 2nd Crusades and also the 14th and 15th Century stuff I can see me using 6mm again for large battles, with Hail Ceaser type rules for 28mm for smaller battles and skirmish. Good video Gus, great looking troops ... truly epic stuff.
Once I finish my 28mm projects I'll go full head into 6mm - it's just brilliant to see those massive amounts of troopers on the table. Thanks for reigniting the good feeling! Cheers, Trista.
Hi i agree i have a huge Baccus Celts army that terrifies my friends Romans legion truly is epic when you see two huge forces on a six by 4 tables with room to maneuver too.
Love them mate and loved the outro! I completely get the overall command idea, my only experience of 6mm was GW Epic twenty years ago but our armies were huge and battles would last weekends, campaigns were fought over might empires hex maps. Those were the days! Have you ever played Epic? Actually, what do you play mate?
Yeah, I played Epic a looong time ago. I play everything and anything really mate, that is my hobby - learning rules systems and playing them. Kinda sad, but I really enjoy it. So yeah, just about anything really :)
i play mechwarrior clix and battletech and dnd those are my only miniatures games but i bought some cowboys 15mm cowboys the other day for a rpg game and the size is perfect but i always wanted to get into napoleonics and this is the choice the right size for large battles and easy on the pocket
We play the Battle of Austerlitz in 6mm using Baccus a few years back at a convention. The grand scale was just awe inspiring with a table that was at least 15 feel long. Warhammer 40K Epic was also 6mm in scale and I hope the rumors are true about that game system coming back.
i can vouch that the french are just as good! lovely lovely minis, gunna buy some bases and the "generals" set so that i can have some mounted officers
All finished off with Frederick The Great's Der Hohenfriedburger - you can almost smell the gunpowder! I might have to go and watch Barry Lyndon now ;-)
I purchased quite a few minis from baccus. No complaints. I was able to complete two armies for the Black Powder game in a short amount of time. Baccus also has a line of terrain that is very nice. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to begin small scale wargaming.
This video is what made me buy the Baccus 6mm Napoleonics. What kind of flock/static grass are you using on your bases? At my local store I can only get flock from GW or Army Painter, but it doesn't look like the stuff you're using. I'm asking because I think you nailed it when it comes to scale comparing the grass to the models, whilst using the static grass I've seen might be too big, and Army Painter flock just too uninteresting.
***** I know right! You wouldn't think that they would look so good, considering how small they are. But the detail is amazing - *and* they are super-easy to paint!
Have you painted a full battalion or at least can you show what the battalion looks like with a farm on the left centre ant a village on the right flank? If you have the figures to hand?
II think the paintwork looks great but. Firstly it looks like a Prussian 7 years war company and they were usually formed in 3 ranks, so a company would consist of 3 ranks 30 to 40 men plus a captain, 2 lieutenants and 4 sergeants. Add to this corporals and drummers. Secondly, as I’m about to attempt painting a Baccus Army pack a list of colours used, and the manufacturer. Also the primer as this affects the colour as does the varnish
I need glasses! lol Great review, it's really nice to something different like this, do you know what scale epic is? I hear GW may be bringing it back?
Yep! I had been known to game a bit of Epic back in the day. I love the 6mm scale for large scale battles, and Epic was also 6mm I believe. Well, I am not sure if they are bringing it back. Do you have any links/sources??
***** yes Faeit212 website rumors title: A New 40k Epic Armegeddon: Would You Buy Into it? Epic will return end of the Year! -There will be a Complete Set with Rules, Models and Accessories. -The "Starter Set" will be a Armageddon Theme Set. -The set includes Space Marines, Imperial Guard & Orcs -Expansions for other Armies are Planned like Forces of Chaos, Eldar, Tau Empire or the Tyranids.
Hmm, there are a number of okay-ish rulesets out there. The "Black Powder" game by Warlord is actually not too bad, a good balance of complexity and playability.
Colour of the Gods Gehehehe that Sh*T is Old school (Donkey Kong) Looking forward to see a Epic battle of those mini's. I am really curious about the terrain you have for those small men i hope you have a lot of it to really fill up the table where you are going to play on. Or is it just 1 BIG line of men walking forward and shooting like they did in the old day's? XD
Hi James, Erm, I am not sure - 6mm, 15mm, 28/32mm, and 54mm... Not really gotten into 10mm, even though Warmaster and DZ Commander is in that scale. But I don't really like DZ Commander anyway.
I have played the Hobbit and LotR SBG. The miniatures are my favourite miniatures...*ever*, so I love the sculpts. The actual game, I think fucking sucks. The system is so flawed, especially the combat system.

athilith I know! It really gives you a sense of commanding an entire *regiment* of soldiers! Amazing stuff!

I’m sold. Thank you for your review

R Knight I also found it amazing to see just how much detail they have managed to get on such small miniatures.
Wow indeed!
It's amazing the amount of work you guys put on these miniatures, well done.

Yeah, they are great. And it's also awesome how quick one can get a 6mm army done and they look great!

Right on Gus! A super little showcase of minis, Thanks will check them out my son really digs the small stuff.
Thanks!
They are amazing for sure!
They really do look superb, paint job is amazing.
Ian
***** If you do end up getting some 6mm again for crusades or 14th/15th century *please* do a showcase! That would be so epic to see mate!
I will, I currently have a load of 2nd Crusade minis in 28mm sitting waiting, need some mounted knoghts and seargents etc to round out the army
***** I know right!
You wouldn't think that they would look so good, considering how small they are. But the detail is amazing - *and* they are super-easy to paint!
Great review, brilliant looking mini's.
Great lookin' minis!
Love 6mm
my god they are so small but they look awesome great detail for the scale Gus nice share =D £6 for 100 great value :)
Great video, you've helped set the 6mm hook, so to speak!
Thank you for this presentation. Job well done. I'm new to the gaming scene. Is there a source in the states for 6mm figures?
Thank you!
Yes, Baccus are really good, as are Adler.
Aaron Sawney Hah! I thought it only fitting, as I am showcasing my Seven Years War Prussian Army!
GOTT MIT UNS!!
Have you painted a full battalion or at least can you show what the battalion looks like with a farm on the left centre ant a village on the right flank? If you have the figures to hand?
I agree with everything you said here mate 6mm is great. I love baccus I'm personally thing of doing another ancient army.
Really interesting

Great video, I'm thinking of changing from 20mm to 6mm
table top gamer loves the small scale stuff you might like his channel gus.
Oooh, I will check it out.
Thanks for the tip!
What rule set do you use? As I want to do 6mm American Revolution I was thinking using a slightly altered versions of Black Powder.
I made my own rule set for the Seven Years War. Yeah, you could certainly modify Black Powder, it would work. Let me know what you come up with!
I need glasses! lol Great review, it's really nice to something different like this, do you know what scale epic is? I hear GW may be bringing it back?
Warhammer 40K Epic was also 6mm.
God I hope they don't I just sold all my Epic stuff, I have one medium sized Imperial Guard army left !!
***** We still break out the old Space Marine 40K Epic game every few months and play.
Yep! I had been known to game a bit of Epic back in the day.
I love the 6mm scale for large scale battles, and Epic was also 6mm I believe.

this is cool..been meaning to get into black powder gaming, what rules can you suggest ?
Hmm, there are a number of okay-ish rulesets out there. The "Black Powder" game by Warlord is actually not too bad, a good balance of complexity and playability.
Nice ViD mate! you should do a EpiC battle report of this game!!!
I plan to!
Once I have gotten my Battalion painted up, and the opponents are ready - it is on like Donkey Kong!
Colour of the Gods Gehehehe that Sh*T is Old school (Donkey Kong)

wow gus you play a lot. you must have a busy gameing club
Lol! Well, most people still play 40k, but there are a good number of people down my club that are willing to game anything
do you play the hobbit? is it good?
I have played the Hobbit and LotR SBG. The miniatures are my favourite miniatures...*ever*, so I love the sculpts. The actual game, I think fucking sucks. The system is so flawed, especially the combat system.
I never seen anything like this before. Awesome detail. Just wow.
Smaller scale gaming is too often overlooked.
It is indeed - hence why I need to do more vids of it...
you say 2 days ? how many hours ? 48
Company? You mean a Battalion.
No, I mean company. 1:1 scale.
