38 Special had 2 singers, Don Barnes sang the radio hits, Donnie Van Zant sang the gritty southern rock songs. As far as Van Zant the band goes, the Van Zant you are looking at in the 80s wasn't the band, it was the 4th Johnny Van Zant album but instead of using the name Johnny Van Zant Band it was shortened to Van Zant and was very very 80s. Then came 4 Van Zant albums that was the duo of Donnie and Johnny, this is their 5th album together and it's a full gospel album.
