this is a good video and all the bands here are definately real grind, but at the same time it's all so entry level, i was hoping to see more modern bands too, like last days of humanity, insect warfare, PLF, or at least agathocles.
Man nice compilations most compilations just suck theres too much Deathgrind Goregrind mincecore crustgrind in em This is rly pure Grindcore awesome love all the bands
very good compilation- i love grindcore I do not know why people always comment on other musical genres and artists they dislike please just enjoy what you like
BTW...there is a pic of SOD in the Brutal Truth section. Danny Lilker is the only member of SOD in Brutal Truth, yet aside from him in the pic you can clearly see Billy Milano, Scott Ian and Charlie Benante. Other than that great fucking video.
Really nice man, I think World Downfall is the best grind album ever. Let me know if you think there are equally good grindcore albums out there. Id love to hear it.
@skullcrusher6 Yea but that was before the scene started dividing everything up in sub sub subgenres. It also dont change my point that Carcass was more grind than death. Heartwork is an exceptional album, but it didn't define their career.
cryptopsy's first 4,the list goes on.If you find something you like cool, but at least you tried something new.On a final note, death's entire catolog is amazing, try anything off of human.
@Speedof88 probably true. but i do love the music itself, just not the labels. I've been playing "grindcore" on guitar longer than most youtubers have been alive. It was only just the other day that I found out I wasn't authentic because i was using the wrong labels!
@twitterfire I propose a new category above kvlt. The cream fraiche of kvlt. The Gefilte Fish. Gefilte fish (/ɡəˈfɪltə fɪʃ/, from Yiddish: געפֿילטע פֿיש, german: gefüllter Fisch "stuffed fish") is a Ashkenazi Jewish dish made from a poached mixture of ground deboned fish, such as carp, whitefish and/or pike, which is typically eaten as an appetizer.
Oh no, not another "the label on this music is totally wrong" -discussion... However, Carcass is my pick off the list as THE grindcore band, but Repulsion... why TF have i never heard this before? it sounds totally sick and i´m gonna check them out right fucking now!
This is what I've been talking about for so long. Any band outside the time period of 87-92 is just not the same. These recent bands have nothing on one featured here. Real Grindcore is verging on being Crust Punk. Some other good bands of the time were Extreme Noise Terror and Doom, although Doom is probably more Punk. Birdflesh is a pretty good band that stays true to the original Grindcore sound as well.
That's the only Repulsion song without a single blastbeat in it. It's not really the most appropriate choice out of their catalog, but it's certainly one of their best songs.
@Speedof88 joking or not, you are right, i'm old :( lol. It's all good though, i'm OK with making fun of myself. You're right, the labels seem to have a large percentage of people who use them and create them simply to exclude others/ make themselves feel exclusive. I'm sure that's not ALL of the label users, but if the electronic music label users are any indication (my last ex was one), then it's quite a few! She drove me nuts with that shit. Go Heavy Metal ;)
Well, yeah, that's the point. This genre started because metal and punk musicians were tired of the same old verse-chorus-verse-chorus (which can be pretty fucking boring if it's all you listen to). It's music meant to be extreme. No surprise it's a love it/hate it genre.
You're wrong sir. Carcass, like Repulsion and many others, were together for some time before they took their notable names. Carcass began in 1985 under the name Disattack and changed their name TO Carcass in April of '87. And yes, while Horrified was released in 86, Repulsion had several things released as demos through out 84-86 that were all indeed, grindcore material.
i honestly always thought of carcass as more of a death metal band but either way they're fucking beast. P.S. fuck off elitists i like grind, death, goregrind and many other extreme forms of music.
Okay, I checked those bands and there was nothing Grindcore about them. I'd ask you to check out Napalm Death - Lucid Fairytale from their legendary album From Enslavement to Obliteration. This band pretty much defined the genre and made it into what it is today. I'm not going to rip on the bands you mentioned. I don't like them, but that's largely irrelevant. But do yourself a favor look up that song and maybe that entire album and you might find you like it and get into some more real grind.
There are still good Grindcore bands coming out today, Insect Warfare and Agoraphobic Nosebleed are both good examples of modern Grindcore. Btw, Grindcore does suck, but I still love it.
I enjoy the instruments, the voice not that much, i cant really make out anything they say ... although i find it good. Last music was the best of the compilation for me.
Old school death metal like Autopsy,Death into individual thought patterns, cannible corpse(hate them or love them, your call)obituary, deicide, morbid angel's first 4 albums, immolations first 2,bolt throwers first 2,baphomet's the dead shall enherit, entombed;s left hand path, dismember as a whole, grave, necrophobics first album, unleashed, carnage, gorguts befor obscura, the band obscura, malevolent creation first 2,incantations first, suffocations first, masters first 3,brutality,benadiction,monstrosity
Do any of you actually realize how incredibly easy it is to write music like this? I wrote crap like this for fun with my friends in high school. Took us five minutes to write, and man was it fun to play!
geez i still cant figure out what grindcore is, ive been looking at videos of grindcore bands for a little while and it some of it sounds like metal or punk but sum of it is just unclassifiable random gravity blats and fills on drums with squeals so low you cant hear them... is grindcore just like a really broad term that includes lots of music or is it a specific term like technical death metal or thrash metal?
Haha, oh wow. You got some listening to do. Grindcore is more similar to Hardcore Punk and Crossover. I guess it was kind of inspired by early death metal bands, but the basics of Grindcore comes from hardcore. And its definitely a genre of its own.
well all music whether you believe it or not is 'just noise' at the end of the day man, and melody is just one element that can be implimented when making music but it isn't essential. Grind is pretty much the epitome of abrassive rock based music imo, and i appreciate that. Do you know much about punk or hardcore? because i think it could help to have an understanding of that first before you try and indulge in grindcore. It's an aquired taste for most people i'm pretty sure.
thank you for putting actual grindcore on here, not this fucking guttural brutal death technical whateverthefuck with computer drums and drop f guitars
in soviet russia, they call this smooth jazz...
тру стори!
this is a good video and all the bands here are definately real grind, but at the same time it's all so entry level, i was hoping to see more modern bands too, like last days of humanity, insect warfare, PLF, or at least agathocles.
Great compilation, huge fan of all of these bands here. It's good to see some people out there that actually know what the fuck grindcore really is!
thanks for the suggestion. I've heard good things about them before, but I have yet to hear them myself. I will check them out for sure, though.
Thank for uploading.
I definatly like Terrorizer,Napalm Death and Repulsion.^^
Man nice compilations most compilations just suck theres too much Deathgrind Goregrind mincecore crustgrind in em This is rly pure Grindcore awesome love all the bands
very good compilation- i love grindcore
I do not know why people always comment on other musical genres and artists they dislike

Now this here is real GRIND. None of that magrudergrind bullshit.
this is a very good compilation thanks!
BTW...there is a pic of SOD in the Brutal Truth section. Danny Lilker is the only member of SOD in Brutal Truth, yet aside from him in the pic you can clearly see Billy Milano, Scott Ian and Charlie Benante. Other than that great fucking video.

Really awesome mix man, especially with Siege of Power, one of my favourite songs off Scum
Great video, really epic! Those were good old times.
Have you ever heard of A Black Rose Burial or See You Next Tuesday. Both great grindcore groups
Good video. It's nice seeing a video with actual grind bands instead of the bree bree deathcore bullshit.
Elvin Jones and Max Roach were killing it with blast beats back in the 60s before metal even existed.
What is this, some kind of Hannah Montana shit?
@skullcrusher6 Yea but that was before the scene started dividing everything up in sub sub subgenres. It also dont change my point that Carcass was more grind than death. Heartwork is an exceptional album, but it didn't define their career.
glad you found something you like.
Fuck Yeah, This is old school as I remembered it.
Keep it sick and loud
we would like a complete list of titles please in the description... Pleaaaaase =(
cryptopsy's first 4,the list goes on.If you find something you like cool, but at least you tried something new.On a final note, death's entire catolog is amazing, try anything off of human.

Fuck yeah - this is old school as I can remember.
Keep it sick an loud
very nice compilation!!
@eaktheballer The Terrorizer song was Fear of Napalm
@Speedof88 probably true. but i do love the music itself, just not the labels. I've been playing "grindcore" on guitar longer than most youtubers have been alive. It was only just the other day that I found out I wasn't authentic because i was using the wrong labels!
Nice video. Keep dem shitz brutal son...
It is. Judging by what most people call music, then any sound named can be music.
I wouldn't hate it if the quality was better...or if they had some organization in their music.
@littlejoe145 that song is called Prophet

Birdflesh is a pretty good band that stays true to the original Grindcore sound as well.
@GoreyAndKrookedOnes isn't crust a sort of hardcore punk varient
Hmmmm... First time I listen to grindcore, not very different from Death Metal, or specifically, technical death metal, and I like it!
pfft was the guy from brutal truth wearing an apron?? XD i gotta try that...
That's the only Repulsion song without a single blastbeat in it. It's not really the most appropriate choice out of their catalog, but it's certainly one of their best songs.
Very good choises mate! grind up your ass! \m/

massacre is the embodiment of old school, and trust me, the vocals and blast beats take a little bid of getting used to
I'm kind of new to this type of music so just wondering, what's the deal with everybody arguing about real/fake Grindcore?
World Extermination is awesome. I haven't checked out any of their other stuff though.
FINALLY I LOOK UP GRINDCORE AND THE FIRST THING ISNT SOME SHITTY HOT TOPIC SCENE BAND! ITS THIS DOPE SHIT! seen most of these bands live
Good choice of songs.
kool! finding out bout some bands i never heard before!!..thanks! ( Terrorizer...etc.)
great, but the title of this vid should be "Real Grindcore Compilation PART 1"
You're wrong sir. Carcass, like Repulsion and many others, were together for some time before they took their notable names. This music make me want do punches and kicks
Dude, what the name of song of terrorizer?
@cyberus125 I like how when someone argues with your precious point of view, you just call them a troll, since you can't argue back. Is denial fun?
I'm trying to get in to grindcore...
Right now i'm listening to Phobia!! Does anybody have any recommendations?
You picked the one Repulsion song with no blastbeats...=P
@MrDismemberment It isn't? What is it a genre of then? :o
@NanenMauricio
Check out Magrudergrind and Wormrot!! They're really good too!
i honestly always thought of carcass as more of a death metal band but either way they're fucking beast. P.S. fuck off elitists i like grind, death, goregrind and many other extreme forms of music.
@Reokushin it's designed for people that don't like their neighbors.
what about "blues - skiffle - rock'n'roll - pub rock - punk rock"?
whats the terrorizer song and the brutal truth song? their both beast
@TheJaydoc702 I didn't know Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, and Amon Armath wer scene bands they selll clothing at HotTopic...
I would also add that grindcore is more chromatic and syncopated than death metal, less muddy and bass heavy, and often more structurally loose.
I LOVE THIS MUSIC, best thing is i can download one grindcore song and i dont need any more. cause they all sound the fucking same.
I love all this sht. KEEP CALM AND GRIND ON!!!!!!
Okay, I checked those bands and there was nothing Grindcore about them. I'd ask you to check out Napalm Death - Lucid Fairytale from their legendary album From Enslavement to Obliteration. Grindcore has pretty distinctive characteristics from most metal actually
There are still good Grindcore bands coming out today, Insect Warfare and Agoraphobic Nosebleed are both good examples of modern Grindcore.
Btw, Grindcore does suck, but I still love it.
not only that, it is Grindcore that rules!!!
@aristacraticthug Hell yeh man.... if everyone was like you, this world would be fucking amazing.
I enjoy the instruments, the voice not that much, i cant really make out anything they say ... although i find it good. Last music was the best of the compilation for me.
You`re right! It isn`t music but I fuckin` love it!

@Deathgrind740

@MutilationOfTheWeak but they never had grindcore album.. only goregrind
Oh, looks like i mixed my Grindcore with Deathgrind..thanks for noticing.
What is the Brutal Truth song at the beginning of the video?
@pyroflag234 lol Grindcore has meaning? So, growling your head off has more meaning?
Why no Insect Warfare? They play some fuckin INTENSE old-school grind.
geez i still cant figure out what grindcore is, ive been looking at videos of grindcore bands for a little while and it some of it sounds like metal or punk but sum of it is just unclassifiable random gravity blats and fills on drums with squeals so low you cant hear them... is grindcore just like a really broad term that includes lots of music or is it a specific term like technical death metal or thrash metal?
couldn't pick out a word! much rather listen to while she sleeps!
What's the name of the last song? Sorry for my ignorance
@GuruPePe33 This isn't modern day metal. This is late '80s grindcore.
actually it's both. it's hardcore punk/crust punk mixed with extreme metal (specifically death metal).
Haha, oh wow. You got some listening to do. Grindcore is more similar to Hardcore Punk and Crossover. I guess it was kind of inspired by early death metal bands, but the basics of Grindcore comes from hardcore. And its definitely a genre of its own.
note to every one brutal deathmetal with breakdowns is called slam metal check out dying fetus and suffocation suffocation started slam in a way!
I think we have a winner.
blastbeats doesn't mean grindcore ;)
EXCELENT COMPILATION!! 5/5
PD: and agathocles where is? it's mincecore but a grindcore icon!
@twitterfire hahahahahaaaaha, i just looked those up, just perfect!

Brutal Truth- the only bad with a lead singer that wears a cowboy hat that sounds good
thank you for putting actual grindcore on here, not this fucking guttural brutal death technical whateverthefuck with computer drums and drop f guitars
wasn't one the members of the Electro Hippies in Carcass
Brutal truth's need to control is the best fucking album ever
nasum?phobia?assuck?benumb?extreme noise terror?agathocles?rot?warsore?etc?...?
