I wish my dad's alcohol addiction ended like this. He drank & starved himself to death in 2015 when I was 18 years old. His death turned my world upside down. I went into a deep depression & I had to go through grieving counseling. I got really bad on heroine, I overdosed 3 times. But now I have a 4 year old daughter and I'm still in recovery but i'm clean. I got clean for her. I don't want her to go through what I went through. She saved my life. Loved the video.

Nobody's life is perfect but living with an alcoholic can be brutal. This video did a great job of showing the dark side of what it's like to live with an alcoholic.
Life's even worse if your parents pack you off to boarding school which is like being in prison than in school. It's worse if there are retarded challenging behaved students with severe behaviour problems, they're as bad as criminals and it's even more worse, if they get let off scot free. Never use a disability as an excuse for being prone to violence and being destructive and having to be restrained for the sake behaviour problems.
It also shows the cycle of abuse. Her mom started drinking and now the daughter is doing the same to her daughter as well. Thankfully Sid managed to talk her sister out of drinking so she could break the cycle and be a better parent then her own mother ever was.
Most of my childhood trauma comes from my dad's drinking, and when he went to prison, he dropped the drinking. He promised things would change, and he would be a good father. He was for a little bit after he got out, but after he got married to my stepmom and started hanging around old friends, he picked it up again. It's not heavy drinking; he claims to only have a couple a night and he can "control" it. However, ever since he picked it back up, he changed... He told me that his marriage comes before me and refuses to take responsibility for anything. Living with an alcoholic is nightmare, and I will make sure my future kids never deal with what I had to and what many others have to go through. My love goes out to all of you who are either going through this or did experience it in the past.

Depending on the addiction, I'd say 1 week definitely decreases the urge to give in to the addiction while increasing the urge to keep going without it.

If we just do it to satisfy other people, that motivation won't last long. But when you we do things because it is something we want for our own lives, we have a way better chance at being successful.

Once you started and get addicted to alcohol it's not easy to give up. Despite of numerous counseling, scolding, advices etc it's ain't easy. I being one understand how it feels. Thank God, after reducing little by little 3 years. I am able to give up and haven't touch it for 2 years now.
My favorite part is the ending -- the talk about changing. I may be 35 and I have emotional problems, but I try to change. 19 months sober for me and I do not miss the demon drink! Wife of 24 yrs almost walked out on me taking our 4 kids with her so i took my final drink on March 21 2020 enough was enough. Nowadays I absolutely love having a clear mind,weekends are great too taking my family fishing and other activities all in a sober state I love it. If I can do it Im sure anyone whos struggling with alcohol addiction can. Stay strong everyone ❤💯🙏
Same here. If I was President of the United States, I would make alcohol illegal. So illegal that people could go to prison for life for even possessing it. Then all the bars would have to shut down and all stores would have to stop selling alcohol. Only then would I be satisfied. My father was an alcoholic and he abandoned us. Therefore, I don’t trust alcoholics not even the one in this video.
You can't stop drinking for others it has to be for yourself because you will always blame others for making you stop drinking when you are not ready I was married to an alcoholic he has been beaten up lost his license in the end he said that he has had enough and stopped drinking 16yrs ago he went to rehab twice also had internal bleeding but couldn't stop being an alcoholic is an illness and the alcoholic don't choose to drink but when it gets hold of you it's hard to stop

I left my alcoholic boyfriend 6 months ago. He had these nasty fits of rage. He even punched something and ripped his hand open and had to get it sewn twice. He did contact me after 4 months but didn't apologize or acknowledge his shitty behavior. He just fails to learn, and that's why we're not together. I had 3 alcoholic brothers with one literally drinking himself to death. I can't deal with this shit anymore.

No it's not that easy I used to be an alcoholic I've been sober for 9 years now and there was a lot of pain behind my drinking I've still got some other inner demons I have to Work through. And alcohol withdrawals have actually killed people before, it's worse than heroin withdrawals

19 months sober for me and I do not miss the demon drink! Wife of 24 yrs almost walked out on me taking our 4 kids with her so i took my final drink on March 21 2020 enough was enough. Nowadays I absolutely love having a clear mind,weekends are great too taking my family fishing and other activities all in a sober state I love it. Same here. If I was President of the United States, I would make alcohol illegal. So illegal that people could go to prison for life for even possessing it. Then all the bars would have to shut down and all stores would have to stop selling alcohol. Only then would I be satisfied. My father was an alcoholic and he abandoned us. You can't stop drinking for others it has to be for yourself because you will always blame others for making you stop drinking when you are not ready I was married to an alcoholic he has been beaten up lost his license in the end he said that he has had enough and stopped drinking 16yrs ago he went to rehab twice also had internal bleeding but couldn't stop being an alcoholic is an illness and the alcoholic don't choose to drink but when it gets hold of you it's hard to stop

I had my daughter at 17years old… I always was a single mom, I started drinking daily , but at first it was all fun and I controlled it, my daughter is 10now , my addiction is very strong and this is so true.. I missed alot of very important things for her,and said very very painful things… but that’s what addiction does..

I left my alcoholic boyfriend 6 months ago. He had these nasty fits of rage. He even punched something and ripped his hand open and had to get it sewn twice. He did contact me after 4 months but didn't apologize or acknowledge his shitty behavior. He just fails to learn, and that's why we're not together. I had 3 alcoholic brothers with one literally drinking himself to death. I can't deal with this shit anymore.

No it's not that easy I used to be an alcoholic I've been sober for 9 years now and there was a lot of pain behind my drinking I've still got some other inner demons I have to Work through. And alcohol withdrawals have actually killed people before, it's worse than heroin withdrawals
