Around home in the hills where I live I do a lot of driving in 3rd gear (manual transmission, 2.3L engine). Mix that with some highway driving and I was getting around 20 mpg. I switched to Sport mode on the uphills and the highway and I’m getting close to 22 mpg now. At first I’d tried Eco and found the engine had to work harder in the hills and got worse mileage. I had a Bronco Sport and was spoiled with 32 mpg on long highway trips and around 28 mpg around home. It was fun to drive and economical on gas, but I’m not sorry I traded it for the bigger Bronco!
Thanks for not trusting the computer. Only 1 vehicle I've ever had has been +/- close the calculation the rest always aggrandize the MPG. I only take the scenic route if there is something I want to be touristy with. I do a lot of backwater trips, but always for a mountain, historic site, park, etc.
I have a 2023 Big Bend with the 2.7. I just went from North Eastern Pennsylvania to York Beach Maine and got just under 22 mpg. I realize the tires are smaller and maybe this could be why.
@JauntJunkies maxed out 22 wildtrack .. its not as nice as the 2020 expedition on the freeway or luxury car wise, but otherwise isn't missing anything one might need.. plan to keep both cars until I croak. They are a good combination.
I love the backroads, but usually end up on the freeway. I need to try the backroads more often.
For sure. Thanks for watching.
Way to go! Now I have to go buy Jerky! Great video!
Do what I can for you buddy
5700 miles on my wild track and getting 19.4 on 87 octane, normal mode.
@@GaryHirt-m2u thanks for watching. Hope you love your wildtrack.
Lived in both santaquin and gunnison. That is a nice little drive to take. Love all things bronco, but it will be awhile before i buy.

That is awesome mileage. Is it the 4 or 6 cylinder?

@@TopSecretVid that is pretty good mileage. Thanks for watching
I'd be interested to know how it does towing your Bean. I assume you intend to do so (?).
