Yes, in certain situations. Like when I dropped my ZX14R in the garage while putting it on a rear spool stand. (While the uninstalled new frame sliders were sitting in a box).About $300 worth of repairs, done by me. I touched up the fairings damage. I wasn’t paying for new fairings.
The stock exhaust was also damaged, mid pipe dented and twisted in the drop: I saw it when I took it off and replaced it with a Brock’s full CT exhaust. I put the frame sliders on before I took the bike off the stand.
As far as in a crash at speed, god forbid, I don’t think they would do much, from what I’ve heard.

The R&G bolt-through-fairing sliders on my CBR saved my fairings from scratches when I dropped my bike at very slow speeds during my first year of riding. Mine were installed by a previous owner but I'd definitely for them on my next bike. Fairings on bikes are so expensive!

Frame sliders saved me ZX14R twice. I don't mean no damage but minimal and easily-replaceable parts level. Last time I dumped at about 50 mph. I have a crash cage now. None of these things are a Star Trek deflector shield. It's about the bike dump being surviveable. That panel, painted, is a couple hundred dollars (Canadian) from Kawasaki.

I have just fitted Frame sliders , front wheel and rear wheel sliders, Barend sliders and the exhaust can sliders all from R&G to my 2022 BMW S1000RR M Sport. In the past I wasn't interested in anything like that because my interpretation of frame sliders was IF the bike hit the ground it would just do that SLIDE and keep going for longer creating more damage. On watching a video from R&G how they are designed the plastic of which they are made is designed to melt caused friction from the road surface thus SLOWING the bike down faster. Armed with that information changed my mind very quickly - Yes your bike IS going to get some damage with a mild fall or negate damage in a small fall over anything higher you will still get damage depending what your bike hits on its travels. Frame sliders are purely designed to help LIMIT damage thus giving you the possible ability riding your bike afterward, either to your destination or back home. The other thing to take into consideration frame sliders could help keep the heavy bike off your leg in the event of an accident. Your insurance company will like you using this protection because of less damage less for them to pay out which in turn give your cheaper insurance I do not know this because I haven't contacted them yet to ask. Hope this helps making the decision weather to fit or not to fit. Ride safe guys and gals

Interesting Video👍 , I can't make my mind up about Sliders. I think they are good for slow drops when you're pushing the bike around , but if the bike goes down at speed there could be an awful lot of force transfered through the Slider into the mounting point. Possible Frame/Engine damage.

I picked up my “new to me” zx14 last month. Before I picked it up I had frame sliders ready to go on along with a Ventura rack and a sheepskin seat cover.
When I put them On I could immediately see they were just going to reduce damage - not stop it.

I almost dropped mine while pushing it in the garage. I got the T-Rex extended engine guards that have a figure eight look to them. They offer a bit more protection and blend in very well after install. At first I was like they are going to look to big but they blend in nicely and I believe they will offer more protection than just regular engine guards. These bikes don't feel heavy but trust me when they hit that tilt angle it's going down. I'm pretty fit and it caught me off guard and I got lucky the bike fell against my shelving.

The belly pan of the ZX14 is "rotund". I have had mine go over and there was about 5K of damage (Including 2300 Yoshis). I looked at frame sliders, but I was told they aren't that great and in a high-speed accident they often make things worse, catching on the ground and causing more damage.

Yes mine has fallen. The idea of sliders is good, but I don't like them. Mainly I would rather fix the damage of the plastics then having all that impact going to my engine.

Always leave the bike in gear when on the side stand! That way you avoid your bike rolling off its stand, I learnt that a long time ago with an old 600 I had. Lifting 270 kg zzr ain’t fun,!

I would say yes, they are good to have and beneficial, the way I see it, if you didn't have the sliders on, the damage would have been worse.
I was cleaning my bike, I was running hard with a cloth and it went over, with those big ugly cans, before I changed them, they admittingly took part of the impact, for some reason, the bike just went over, the sliders took a good part of the impact and where scratched. Other than that, all good.
Remember, the heavier and bigger the bike, the more damage will incur, which will explain the min damage on your Mrs little 125.

I bought wheel sliders and frame sliders for the sole purpose of color matching them to my bike, they look nice….thats it!

I got the the gb racing engine case guards and r1 sliders for my mt10, so glad as I slid about 15' last winter from wet leaves. Only damage was scraped half through the case guards, scraped the bar end and slightly scraped the r1 slider..no other damage at all..except for a very sore hip on myself..

I have seen these horrible things bend frames and brake crankcases. They're maybe OK if your bike falls off the stand but at even the slightest speed if they dig in or clip a kerb they'll bend whatever they are bolted to. My second hand GTR1400 came with them and I removed them. Dont waste your money.

I do reckon getting the fairing PPF wrap put on as well as sliders I dropped my zzr few weeks back to exactly same damage as yours it's gutting but have to expect these things being a biker

Maybe worth having them fitted or fit yourself on a brand new bike if your going to make a claim on Insurance.I wouldn't personally fit them on a used machine,I would just make a claim and get the fairing replaced.i had some on a Gixxer years ago and used them to rest my feet on during a long journey

Just throw the fairing away, that bike has enough power the fairing does not mean much. The bike looks like a bad ass Road Warrior bike naked.

Think I will be getting some sliders for Ruby when I get her a new set of fairings, not sure if I keep her red but go all metallic red or change to electric blue

I just installed the engine guard / cages from T-Rex.
Nothing protects it 100%. You do what you can afford or tolerate looking at

Saved my fairings one time, so worth it. Get good solid ones, if you have to cut you have to cut. Don't by the bs no cut sliders. Terrible.

I did wish, I had them installed when I low-sided the Yzf, at 40mph, Christmas eve night 2020. 🤔If I had them fitted before, would I have saved the $800 (Australian.) for a full body kit?, plus A pair of mirrors, new bar ends and a new exhaust? I`m toying with the idea of getting the correct length Frame sliders in hopes that it saves the fairing, if it happens again! ^^ Or, I`ll Strip Christine Naked 😱 And Turn her in to a proper Street fighter! 🤟🤪
