Katie this video is awesome and so is your work. I had to comment twice. I love what you do with your backgrounds..... I do large scale inks that I do exactly the same with the backgrounds too. I really feel I’ve met a fellow soul 💙
Thank you so much for sharing Katie 💖 I’m looking forward to seeing how your depth year plans evolve through the year. I definitely feel the process of going deep will throw up that discomfort that can be hidden with distractions like TH-cam abc cleaning. Lots of shadows and power in the deep. Your deck is beautiful 😍
Thank you for sharing your Soulcollage, I went back and watched your other video after watching this one, and then Ordered the book and some matboard. Please keep Sharing.
Tracie, you did?? YAY for you! I wish I lived nearby, we could cut up magazine on the living room floor and get crafty! Let me know how it goes, it can be incredibly rewarding, I've uncovered some DEEP emotional lessons thru SoulCollage.
It was great to see some of your Soul Collage cards! Love your painting too :) This depth year has officially piqued my interest. Thanks for sharing your plans. Happy New Year xo ♡♡♡
That is such an ah-hah moment for me when you talk about what is really the reason for cleaning. I’m going to have to sit with that for awhile and think about why I do that. Looking forward to letting that go in the new year for sure !
Mary, interesting right? Or if not cleaning maybe another delay tactic? Keep me posted. In the end, this depth year should benefit us anyway. I'm ready already! Do you have some intentions for 2019 ?
Layer Cake Arts I have signed up for so many online tarot classes that I haven’t finished. So my depth year will include giving myself the time to do that. Instead of cleaning and all my other delay tactics! There’s a message about not conforming to family norms that I want to clear out of my life this year too. Freedom!!!!
Cleaning and organizing as a way of seeming productive is completely my MO as well. I use it to procrastinate on priorities. I loved seeing your beautiful art and look forward to seeing more. Thank you for sharing 💖
Lovely to meet a fellow artist/card slinger.... I’m about to start a depth year so really interesting to hear your point of view on this. Subbed now as it’s fabulous to find you 💙
So lovely to hear your plans for depth year! Beautiful oracle deck - looking forward to what 2019 brings. Here's to creativity and peaceful productivity!
Brian, thank you! I've been practicing already, trying to see where I'll be challenged (shopping, impulse buying, and more meditation) and where I'm successful (using my art supplies). Howz it going for you so far?
Smooches dear heart ! I've been "practicing" at my depth year to see where my weaknesses are... um, it appears I'm really good at making up excuses to cover up for my impulse purchases, haha! But all said and done, it's going to be just fine... : )
Hi Katie...so glad to see you again. I'm welcoming in that depth year for sure. It struck a chord with me when you spoke about cleaning. It was the same in our house...I think it was a generational thing...you didn't have time to yourself..I had to have all of my jobs done before Mum got home..or else. Not much fun. No down time. So now...its hard for me to associate with relaxation/me/quality time. This year of Depth is solely about me/selfcare/books/art/...and going slow. Enjoying moments. Indulging in comfy ..squishy...soaking into what ever I choose. See you over there Lovely one. x
Oh I love your comments, you feel like a long lost sister. : ). I knew you'd be all in for depth year, so perfect for this healing journey we're on, eh ? Can't wait to see where we land this time next year.
I feel this on a deep level. I think I'll be joining in on this concept. I feel like my whole life has been wasted procastinating. Putting off cleaning, cleaning to avoid something, dodging meditation to get out of sitting still, sleeping in way too much too often to not face the day. Where has the time gone? Alalala! Thanks for bringing the idea to my attention and good luck on your journey. 2019 will be a great year!
Yes SO true! I totally relate to your words, we must have been separated at birth, haha. I always feel like I have to have everything organized and clean before I sit down to meditate and then I'm SO damn tired I fall asleep sitting there... Ugh... But we're working on it, right? So glad to connect with you. See you in the FB group... ; )
So lovely to see you Katie !!! You're going to love the Weavers Oracle, it's absolutely stunning to work with. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art, as I told you before, you should turn your beautiful girls into an oracle deck too. Take care! x
Kerstin, thank you SO much! Sometimes I kinda toss the idea around of an oracle, maybe a few more girl faces and I'll have enough. But it would be awfully girly tho. ; ). I'm so excited to work with the Weavers Oracle. Do you have a favorite Weaver, one that stands out for you? Thank you again for your kind words, so very special! : )
I don't mind awfully girl, Katie ;o) Udegan of the Human Heart has become somewhat of a returning supporter fron the Weavers ... but I don't have a favorite as such. They all have different things that draw me to them. Hope you'll enjoy working with them too. x @@layercakearts
Loving your videos, I've been binge watching your channel this week. ; ). And thank you so much for your compliments, I'm really grateful. See you online. 😍
So happy to see you Katie 💕💕 Omg your huge oracle deck 😍😍😍 You are such a powerhouse of talent lady!!!! I'm so happy that you are getting The Weavers Oracle ☺ damn right you are worth it!!!! Love you Katie 🤗🤗💕💕😚
I have a vision of you in my mind using the Weavers Oracle and that's exactly what I hope to do for the new year, I'm so excited! I sense that a special weaver is going to come forward for 2019 and end up in my yearly painting, feels very powerful. Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, I feel very loved!! ❤️
Soooo glad to "see" you, again! You look so fabulous! I love your "Soul Collage" -- at some point, I'd like to create my own oracle deck for healing. Once again, we have so much in common. I'm a cleaner and an organizer and I started using those things in childhood as avoidance and distraction methods until it developed into OCD (and a job, for awhile) and I still use cleaning and organizing as a way to avoid self-care. My parents, esp. my dad, are also all about productivity since they also use it as a way to avoid feelings. lol Ooohh, you're doing Bell's Astrology course! I've been thinking about that, as well, to refresh myself on everything I don't remember I already know. LOL Glad to hear that it's worth the price of purchase. I'm happy you're making videos, again. I adore seeing your creative projects. Love you bunches, girl!
Oh girl, I lurvs you !! I wish you'd make videos, I just know you have so much good content locked away in that noggin of yours. Yeah, we should do a Top 10 list... Top 10 ways we avoid self care... cleaning, organizing books by color, sorting old photos, "sleeping with the enemy" soup cans in the kitchen, folding the towels, brushing the cat... refolding the towels...should I go on? 😘
Awww, I love you, too, Katie! Oh, yes, a "Top 10" list would be fantastic! lol One major thing I've learned in accepting my codependency is that I take care of others partially in order to avoid "taking care of" myself, and in return, I need another to take care of me, so I don't have to do it. A big dysfunctional cycle of learned helplessness and avoidance. Funny, the things you learn when you deeply examine yourself. I'm really glad this "Depth Year" project is helping you confront and sort through all the self-limiting programming.
Oh Katie, I would love one, I have a extra silver chain that needs a friend. I'm so excited to see you and Brian Saturday. Diana and her friend have worked so hard decorating the house. As usual. The girls will start cooking Thursday, all day Fridayand will finish up on Saturday.
Oh, man, that talk on productivity hits deep. Not exactly the same thing for me, but it's not that far, either. I laughed at your "gotta wrap this shit up" comment. Inner child work to be done here, too. I DO read paperbacks - and hardcovers - and love it, but for the past year I had zero interest in reading. Thankfully, it has roared back. I
Haha, thank you so much ! It's good to know I'm not alone! Good for you for reading paperbacks, I used to love them so much but when I moved over to the iPad I developed such a bad habit of flipping over to FB or IG...short attention span, ugh ! But I'm determined to get back on track. So glad to connect with you here! Cheers! : )
I like the Crystal Cave series by Mary Stewart - I've read the first one twice, and the second one once, the third one, I can't get through the middle. So the bookmark yellows. I got stuck on chapter 7 in Tom's book. Now I'm hip deep in Benebell's Book of Maps for the Spirit Keepers...always wanted to do the Astrology course...but I am going to finish these first. I don't have a problem sitting still. Or allowing myself the time for recovery. Chronic pain does that for me...I do feel guilty, and I feel worthless because I can't do what I once could. I wish I'd known life is such an obstacle course. I feel like the whole last 3 years has been depth years...but I have spent a lot of money...I need a new couch. Random.
Oh girl, I'm right there with you. Chronic illness is such an emotional mind-f**k...feeling worthless, guilt, etc. I understand now why we're not supposed to know our own future, we'd never come out from under the covers. ...and sometimes we don't. On days when I film a video it's like a miracle happened and I actually showered and put on makeup, haha. Ok I'm gonna check out Mary Stewart, I've heard her name often so she must be well like. Thank you for the recommendation! Hang in the doll, you are not alone. ❤️
What a beautiful soul you are. Thanks for what you have sent into the word ❤️💕

So fascinating how your oracle you created knew things and you knew things before you actually knew them. Wonderful art!!!

You look wonderful Katie. Love your enhancer. No 0ne can ever call you lazy or a slouch with your type A personality.
Thanks mama ! Can you believe I got the pendant for $7 at Joanns? I'll see if they have anymore left and get one for you. ; )
