I agree with you except for the no pressure part. They got rich beyond their wildest dreams after the popularity of Dark Side after 73 and the record releases became less frequent and obviously more mainstream than things like More and Atom Heart Mother. This is a great record!

Yes, a song made for headphones. The effects get a little lost if you're listening to it on speakers from across the room. You need those effects buzzing around in your head. Same with the song Cirrus Minor. It's sad the band seemed to have abandoned these great songs once they reached Dark Side and beyond. Roger Waters once stated in an interview that the one album he'd "toss into the dustbin" was Atom Heart Mother, viewing it as " pompous". I think it's overly harsh and the second side has a few good songs, especially Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast. Another song best listened to on headphones.
Another undervalued album by Pink Floyd. It is wildly uneven and has some hauntingly beautiful songs, especially the opening track Cirus Minor with its dreamy lyrics that make your mind drift like a leaf caught in the gentle current of warm wind. I've never seen the film so I don't know how the songs are used. I heard the versions differ from film to album. I prefer this period of the band's history. They created some of their most beautiful songs. It was not 60's psychedelia or the doom and gloom that would define their sound from Dark Side to The Wall (I still cannot include The Final Cut as a proper Pink Floyd album). Here we find the band experimenting with different styles, slowly evolving. Sadly these songs never make it on to any of the retrospective CDs. Seriously, who really needs another remastered version of Money? I'd love to pick songs for a retrospective collection and avoid anything from Dark Side and beyond.
On the collection titled 'Relics' you will find 'Cirrus Minor' and 'The Nile Song'...it's all early Floyd, some from when Syd Barrett was still in the band.

Their first album without Syd Barrett's involvement. Gilmour really shines here in a few licks, and Rick Wright's keyboards are amazing. The only Pink Floyd album I ever regretted buying. I haven't heard these songs in thirty years and after this video there isn't one that I want to hear again.
I would have guessed that 'The Nile Song' and 'Ibiza Bar' were written by Dave Gilmour as they sound in a similar vein to The Pretty Things' psyche era stuff and I hear Dave Gilmour was a big fan of theirs however, 'The Nile Song' is credited to Roger Waters.
Listening to the last track, I can't believe Pink Floyd invented the cheerful corporate whistling + ukelele + vibraphone music. Okay maybe someone did it before but none that comes to mind.
I inherited this album in 1968-9 or so when I moved into an apartment that someone had left hurriedly. I recognized the cover and the playlist immediately, but I remember a lot of other things differently. I don't recall the title "More" at all. What I remember is the name of the movie ("The Valley" or "La Vallee") and either a subtitle or something that read "Obscured By Clouds." Not sure what that meant. Also the female co-star was named Mimsy Farmer. Maybe this stuff was on the back of the jacket. Anyway, I liked the tunes enough to buy Ummagumma, and that's all she wrote.
Mon album préféré du Pink Floyd le plus proche de Mozart. L'atmosphère est une grande réussite (donc conséquemment, le dépaysement) - La seule chose que je regrette est un certain usage de l'écho -
The Crying Song sounds a bit like the ending of Syd Barrett's Opel. Side one is brilliant, Floyd at their absolute best. Side two is more geared for the film but is still enjoyable.
This album is the first of Pink Floyd without Syd Barret, the until then songwriter, singer and lead guitar of the group. They alienated the group’s main founder for his problems with LSD (Syd is not his name, it's his nickname and comes from a diminutive of acid lol) and various mental disorders, mainly a schizophrenia derived from substance abuse. The fan base did not give a penny for the group, as they did not believe they could get out of Syd’s shadow. In this album, one of the least sold of the musical line-up, they were experimenting to create an image far from that of "Syd’s band". The results of this experimentation are seen on the albums immediately after, but these songs could be considered a transition period for the group
PINK FLOYD is a BAND that had 7 ALBUMS before finally really breaking through in 1973 with DARK SIDE of the MOON 7 great Albums that got discovered after 1973!! By now they are as HUGE as those who came before them; BEATLES and STONES!!!
That's probably because the Stones and the Beatles were more mainstream in their music. Some of Floyd's music is hard to listen, especially the atonal jazz inspired music, to compared to the more approachable rock and blues of the Beatles and the Stones.
The Beetles and Stones were Pop bands at the time. The Stones got harder into rock. The Beetles just fizzled out. Pink Floyd went further with progrock and transended music as a whole. You can catch a little of all genres in their music. The Beetles and Stones sold out to "ride the gravy train." Floyd never cared about all that, and it kept their recoedung pure and honest.

I especially love their folky acoustic guitar and vocals on "Green is the Colour" and "Cymbaline".
Lyrics:
Cirrus Minor:
In a churchyard by a river
Lazing in the haze of midday
Laughing in the grasses
And the graves
Yellow bird, you are not long
In singing and in flying on
In laughing and in leaving
Willow weeping in the water
Waving to the river daughters
Swaying in the ripples and the reeds
On a trip to Cirrus Minor
Saw a crater in the Sun
A thousand miles of moonlight later
The Nile Song:
I was standing by the Nile
When I saw the lady smile
I would take her out for a while
For a while
Like tears wept like a child
How her golden hair was blowing wild
Then she spread her wings to fly
For to fly
Soaring high above the breezes
Going always where she pleases
She will make it to the island
In the sun
I will follow in her shadow
And I'll watch her from my window
One day I will catch her
She is calling from the deep
Summoning my soul to endless sleep
She is bound to drag me down
Drag me down
Crying Song:
We smile and smile
We smile and smile
Laughter echoes in your eyes
We climb and climb
We climb and climb
Foot falls softly in the pines
We cry and cry
We cry and cry
Sadness passes in a while
We roll and roll
We roll and roll
Help me roll away the stone
Up the Khyber:
(Instrumental)
Green is the Colour:
Heavy hung the canopy of blue
Shade my eyes and I can see you
White is the light that shines
Through the dress that you wore
She lay in the shadow of the wave
Hazy were the visions overplayed
Sunlight on her eyes but moonshine
Made her blind everytime
Green is the colour of her kind
Quickness of the eye
Deceives the mind
Envy is the bond between
The hopeful and the damned
Cymbaline:
The path you tread is narrow
And the drop is sheer and very high
The ravens all are watching
From a vantage point nearby
Apprehension creeping
Like a tube train up your spine
Will the tightrope reach the end
Will the final cuplet rhyme
And it's high time Cymbaline
It's high time Cymbaline
Please wake me
A butterfly with broken wings
Is falling by your side
The ravens all are closing in
There's nowhere you can hide
Your manager and agent
Are both busy on the phone
Selling colored photographs
To magazines back home
And it's high time Cymbaline
It's high time Cymbaline
Please wake me
The lines converging where you stand
They must have moved the picture plain
The leaves are heavy round your feet
You hear the thunder of the train
Suddenly it strikes you
That they're moving into range
And Doctor Strange is always changing size
And it's high time Cymbaline
It's high time Cymbaline
Please wake me
And it's high time Cymbaline
It's high time Cymbaline
Please wake me
Party Sequence:
(Instrumental)
Main Theme
(Instrumental)
Ibiza Bar:
I'm so afraid
Of mistakes that I've made
Shaking every time that I awake
I feel like a cardboard cut-out man
So build me a time
When the characters rhyme
And the story line is kind
I've aged and aged since the first page
I've lived every line that you wrote
Take me down, take me down
From the shelf above your head
And build me a time
When the characters rhyme
And the story line is kind
I live far enough
On the shelf like the rest
And the epilogue reads like a sad song
Please pick up your camera
And use me again
And build me a time
When the characters rhyme
And the storyline is kind
Yeah!
More Blues, Quicksilver, and Dramatic Theme are instrumentals.
A Spanish Piece:
Pass the tequila, Manuel
Listen Gringo
Laugh at my lisp and I kill you
I think
This Spanish music
It sets my soul on fire
Lovely senorita
Your eyes are like stars
Your teeth are like pearls
Your ruby lips
Best post ever for this!!! Lyrics paint a world each phrase and then a maze of senses. Some just hear, and many feel; like a Braille reality vision sees further distant, dire and joys of the deep; close as the heart, wide as the soul. Say I'm "crazy", sure. So who's to say what's "sane." ~RaVen~ on the wander...
Thank you so much for posting the lyrics!
Thank you..
They are an amazing band
They were an amazing band, they are no more
One of their best
Lightyears ahead of their first 2 albums. You finally start to hear them discover their full potential as musicians.
Unforgettable to me! ✌️
The only Pink Floyd album I ever regretted buying. I haven't heard these songs in thirty years and after this video there isn't one that I want to hear again.
Still my favourite Floyd albumn
Find the movie MORE, and experience Cymbaline, as the subject and problem with society today.
Quando tinha 16 escutava direto perdi minha fita nunca mais tinha escutado obrigado pela oportunidade de ter postado
The More album is so relaxing
I LOVE Pink Floyd! 🙂
One of my favourites, it's like the nile song is the first punk/thrash song ever.
It's really a template for a number of rock genres. Very metal, as well.
Genial, cirrus minor. Alucinante.!!!
Le meilleur du pink Floyd 🔥🔥🔥
This is my favorite album of all time. It sounds like Heroin
And tastes like ganja
And feels like morphine
And a wee bit of some cid sunshine. 🌻
Have you all seen the movie?
Pink Floyd...the more..great..🎸🎹
Extraordinario un manjar
one of the best! I love it.

History Classic Psychedelic Rock Album on milleniums
A masterpiece
Pour moi, l'un des meilleurs Floyd. Hypnotique, initiatique, floral. Don Quichotte passe par là, sur cet écrin sauce rock.
Oui François, oki, bien stone ,bons plans, bons prods
Année 1969. Déjà l'abonnement voyage aller loin .COOL!!!!!!!
This album sums up Pink Floyd's message to humanity. Because i said so. The Wall, Animals, Machine, Atom Mother are all corrolaries.
The last song sounds like the music from every online ad for the past 6 years.
i got it in 1970, thank's !! i've seen the film last year and, heu.....the music is better.
Pink Floyd antes del Dark Side Of The Moon, si existe y es muy bueno!
Echoes y Childhoods end, amazing.
Great album so underrated love this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Listening to the last track, I can't believe Pink Floyd invented the cheerful corporate whistling + ukelele + vibraphone music.
Okay maybe someone did it before but none that comes to mind.
They didn’t write that last one. That was put on there as a joke, which is not funny…
Best PF album.
Possibly one of the best Pink Floyd album.
Just like any of theirs😂
I LOVE MORE!!!!!!
pink floyd invented heavy metal in 69 along with King Crimson 21st century schizoid man which describes me perfectly at 60.
Hendrix in '66.
I built my whole life around this album, it is for sure a part of My Life Story.
I wish green is the colour went on for 15 minutes longer,it's beautiful.
'Apprehension creeping like a tube train up your spine', Cymbaline has to be one of my favourite early Floyd tracks, along with Fat Old Sun.
Cymbaline for sure..................
You have good taste.
🇬🇧PNKFLYD lives on
My favorite album. I saw the film in a cinema in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1978. A jewel, a diamond, not adequately recognized.
YEAH PINK FLOYD YOU ARE THE LEGENDS OUTSIDE BIRDS ARE SINGING
I. Love you for this. Floydage 🔥⚡️💥🎶💯🎼
52 years old and still not a massive fan but a very nice listen. This is the only early record I don't own.
its the only album you dont own,but not a massive fan.come to the dark side ,we love you
I inherited this album in 1968-9 or so when I moved into an apartment that someone had left hurriedly.
Obscured by clouds was a different LP released in 1972.
Such a deep and light knowledge implies taking a foot into this mesmerising amazing and fearful album.....
Fenomenal
Mon album préféré du Pink Floyd le plus proche de Mozart. L'atmosphère est une grande réussite (donc conséquemment, le dépaysement) - La seule chose que je regrette est un certain usage de l'écho -
Gracias por compartir tus vídeos!!
Very much underrated work...Nile Song unheard PF hard Rock, never heard during live sessions
The song that starts at 44:58 is the best in Pink Floyd's discography.
That shit is the 💣 😂
The Crying Song sounds a bit like the ending of Syd Barrett's Opel.
I have to agree somewhat it still is the transition same Floyd .
Cymbaline is almost paradise
It is. Like 3 songs in one.
C'est vraiment le paradis 😇
A fine and underappreciated album.
Exceptional Music = Pink Floyd!
Cymbaline is just a beautiful song.............
PINK FLOYD is a BAND that had 7 ALBUMS before finally really breaking through in 1973 with DARK SIDE of the MOON 7 great Albums that got discovered after 1973!! By now they are as HUGE as those who came before them; BEATLES and STONES!!!
The Floyd blows the Stones and Beetles out of the water!
@@bourbonsnob8218 ya in your dreams!! keep dreaming!!
The only Pink Floyd album where I can say I only love Side A....
A MAIOR MARCA DO PLANETA...A MAIOR BANDA DE TODOS OS TEMPOS ...A MAIS AMADA...A MAIS IMPORTANTE...A MAIS ICÔNICA...UFA!...FRON BRAZIL...❤
I miss you guys
Découverte inoubliable autour de 1972 au collège.
Pink Floyd will always be my favorite band.❤
