Brilliant David & Elin.. A familiar sight for me in the late 1960's and through the 70's. Great engines and a lot easier to work on than some. Are you going for the 2.2 pistons & liner set ?
Hello. I have also just pulled all the components out of my '62 engine block. You mentioned that one can reuse the wet liners? Mine don't look all that bad. Although, I have never rebuilt an engine before. Also, do the cam bearings need replaced/removed?
Hi Dave, yes, you can reuse the liners. You might have to have them honed slightly though. Have you checked the measurements of them? It’s possible if they measure well, you can hone them and just use your pistons with new rings. As a general rule, I’ll replace the cam bearings…they are very inexpensive. But, they can be measured if you want to check the wear on them.
@@cheftush I have a fellow Triumph collector helping me with the engine. He is doing all the measuring. I did place an order for new cam bearings. Is it worth while having the block flushed and baked or just wire brushing out the coolant area. Doesn't look all that bad. I saw that Yakov used a cam bearing tool. Is there any particular one for the engine? Thank you for your input and especially these videos!
@@davehallberg4325 it the block is very rusty then I would have it hot tanked at a machine shop. If it’s not bad, you can just wire brush the areas, pressure wash and then spray it down with WD40 so it doesn’t flash rust on you. The critical area to make sure it’s nice and clean are where the figure 8 gaskets sit. Nothing special about the cam bearing tool. They come with interchangeable sizes of expandable discs so you just pick the one that’s suited
@@cheftush I suppose using over cleaner makes the garage smell great, NOT. Be mindful of Rusty coming around when using caustic cleaners. I liked the use of a shoulder bolt for pushing out the valve guides.
Hi David, I was hoping you could point me to a video that would help me rebuild my TR250 seats. Ideally i would like to do what you did - put the TR6 folding headrest seats if you know of any. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Howard
Hi Howard, nothing TR250 specific but here is some info on the seat side bolster springs www.triumphexp.com/forum/tr5-and-tr250-forum.25/new-tr250-seat-side-bolster-springs.1587627.2027479/page-2#msg-2027479 And a rebuild of TR4A seats. www.triumphexp.com/forum/tr4-and-tr4a-forum.7/tr4a-seat-rebuild-instructions-attached.1353216/ Wegs Garage TH-cam channel has a video on rebuilding TR4 seats. The 69 TR6 seats are nice, but the Mazda Miata seat conversion for these cars is the most comfortable.
That was quick and easy removal all the way around . Nice job.
Morning entertainment to go with my coffee
Good progress, Chef. I've only done TR6 engines and was surprised how relatively easy the liners came out. You two make it look easy!, Cheers!
Happy morning! Tush video to start the day. As always, keep the camera rolling.
You guys call me the "Purist", but this is another level of ultra-complicated beyond me right now. Impressive.
Great content as usual great channel and team work
Thank You Peter
For the ultimate engine component clean, take them home after everyone has gone to bed and pop them in the dishwasher. 😉
lol even me as a Batchelor wouldn’t attempt that 😉
..... "beautiful baby boy", Tush, too funny
I think I would have preferred a girl 😉

I’m going for the 87 mm set…so slightly bigger than the stock 86 mm

No video in a while, Tush. Hope you didn't do rotator cuff surgery and all is well with you.

What would you put in the car? Just curious.
