Yeah it was a memorable series! This England team was a very good test side and gave a great fight, especially in test 2 and 3 after what happened in the 1st game, but ultimately i think 2-0 was a fair reflection of just how strong that SA team was, particularly on their overseas tours for whatever reason. AB keeping opened up a spot to have Duminy at 7, and imo a lot of the 3rd test ultimately hinged on the runs Duminy and Philander got at 7 and 8. It was neck and neck but for that depth. Kallis, AB and Philander was basically 3 all rounders of varying types in the team at that point. Mind you, KP wasn't in that game having just played one of his best ever innings in the previous one, so who knows what would have happened there. But overall the SA bowling had a bit more strike power as well i think. The SA bats managed to nullify Swann especially, who had really given them a hard time in the previous series in SA in 2009. Finn was probably England's most dangerous bowler of the series, and he only played 2 games. But of course this was also the series where they changed the law because of him knocking the stumps in his bowling action, which seems to have led to a lot of needless tinkering with his bowling and a loss of confidence. Shame, he was a proper strike bowler.
That was the worst phase going on for broad fr real it was so bad he had to give up his batting and focus on being a complete bowler but he made a great comeback can't deny that ❤
