Good review, Wider is always welcome, more rooms for toes to move, less hotspot, less pain , specially longer runs. The outsole , I find the center island become noticeable during longer run, you can feel it and it become pressure point, painful on longer run. The midsole is soft , when landing it spread wide, maybe one piece outsole would help ? I have the Novablast 2 , I won't use for my runs any more, just walking , I find it narrow and long.
The MK 1 2 and 3 where great and progressively better as they went along. I will eventually get the MK4 , these in my opinion as a 50 mile a week runner are the best shoes, all round they can just do anything, also they last amazingly well , MK1'S have over 1200 miles on them( and still going) but even the 2 and 3 are well beyond 500 and just dont wear away . Fantastic
Oops sorry I must have deleted in an edit. Anyway the British frigate anchored off shore and by the time some rowed ashore the locals had assembled some with picnics and families in tow the story goes, fired a few shots to scare them off and the British went back to the ship. Apparently no one hurt or killed.
Hi Sam, always enjoy your reviews, especially your location...Rye is amazing, have alway enjoyed our runs there... sounds like the 4 is more stable...need the medial support. not familiar with the rail trail near by?
Hi Adam, Yes Novablast 4 is more stable than previous but shouldn't be considered a support type shoe. Nimbus 25/26 and Kayano lean more that way as does ASICS GT and I also like Saucony Tempus for some stability. The new rail trail runs parallel to Rte 1 crossing every road a bit to the west of Rte 1 (to the East for a ways in N Hampton) from Portsmouth to Hampton where 101 crosses over. It has been recently resurfaced in gravel then packed stone dust from Portsmouth to N Hampton Airfield. Towards Hampton while not resurfaced it is really nice as well
If this is the same foam as the Nimbus 25, I can’t imagine it feeling “softer” than the 3. All the reviews I’ve seen have used words such as “firmer” and “more responsive” than previous versions. Those takes are certainly more in line with what we know Flyte Foam Blast + Eco feels like.
I upgraded to the 4 from 3 and it absolutely has a firmer feel. You can feel the cushioning as distance increases or if you land hard. The loss of the bouncy feel from the 3 isn't a negative, the 4 feels more stable.
Good review Sam! Think I'll stick with my old 3s (and newish 3 TR version) until the NBlast 4 TR version is out (hopefully they still make one in the future). Looks interesting...
Much more lightweight and not quite as soft. 1080 is very much a plush high cushion shoe with a little bit of response where as the novablast is essentially the most responsive daily trainer on the market- asics has just worked so hard on it they’ve managed to make it soft as well. Both amazing shoes
Have you ever tried the Novablast 3 LE? They sound very similar and the pull tab and heel flair looks identical. Also the midsole is a bit more comfy but lacks the speed
@@SergiuSalcau00 I also have the normal Novablast and they feel a quite a bit firmer, although they both have the same FF Blast + foam I actually prefer the LE.. But that's just me.
The Ride 17 is bouncier while the Novablast is more reactive. The Ride 17 has a more mellow flex profile and thus is more slower paces friendly. See our written review of Novablast 4 for that comparison and 7 others here: www.roadtrailrun.com/2023/10/asics-novablast-4-mulit-tester-review-8.html
Cumulus 25 in front of my eyes. I disagree with flex or with toe off. I don't have shoes yet. Once I have it I shall test my view. But for now I am firmly sure that NB3 is sinking in therefore less toe off. I think you mentioned the moving point of the crease while gating or toe offing ... back. My front of the NB3 is like a kitchen sponge. Useless after 8 days. I am disappointed with the way foam behaves in NB3. I hope that NB4 has solved it. Foot itself pushes from foam into muscles and tendons ...No mushy, only return. As you have said. Compare it to Infinite or Gemini 2020 from UA. Sandwich of two layers. Looks firm, but ain't. Very pleasing underfoot. I taught that indents NB4 are more than design cuts. Like it is different foam. Nike I think took the idea from UA. Idk. You can check that upper layer on UA Infinite 5 for instance. Nice review as always. Thank you sir. All the best to you and runners.
If for more general day day in out running V4. For somewhat faster pace days v3. Also see written review: www.roadtrailrun.com/2023/10/asics-novablast-4-mulit-tester-review-8.html
Good morning. Thanks for this information about the new novablast4. Like from Spain. A nice monday for everyone.

Thanks! And Thanks for feedback. Yes the island is felt for + (trampoline) and - (a bit of pressure).
I could not run in the Novablast 3. Foot slapping and strange fit. Superblast is AMAZING.
Much less slapping, better fit. See video and also written review: www.roadtrailrun.com/2023/10/asics-novablast-4-mulit-tester-review-8.html
the tongue of the 3 was the worst part for me. thin, bunchy, non-protective, slippage, just awful
5mm wider, just like the new Saucony Ride that is coming in January. Interesting trend!
The MK 1 2 and 3 where great and progressively better as they went along. Thanks for your feedback on long term durability
I might get this than the new balance 1080v13 ($165)
1:38 good shot, that demonstrates the amount of firmness / impact to calves. Likely translating to tiredness.
Great review - you convinced me to give them a try. But what happened to the discussion of the battle from the war of 1812?

What a LOVELY color 😉
Finally retiring my glide ride 3s, and looking foward to trying these out!
Sad to see that there won't be anymore Gliderides. Such a great shoe.

First on the Web. 🎉🎉🎉
I don't know about this one. Why is it heavier van the 3? I also don't like the heel. Too large sticking out.
I've heard so many people talk about how temperamental and non-durable the novablast 3 stack is, hoping they have at least partially solved this
How does it compare to 1080 v13 ? More responsive?
Much more lightweight and not quite as soft. 1080 is very much a plush high cushion shoe with a little bit of response where as the novablast is essentially the most responsive daily trainer on the market- asics has just worked so hard on it they’ve managed to make it soft as well. The upper of this shor is better than my Superblast 😮
@roadtrailrun are novablast 4 true to size? I usually wear 44.5eu 28.25cm
Yes.
Have you ever tried the Novablast 3 LE? They sound very similar and the pull tab and heel flair looks identical. Also the midsole is a bit more comfy but lacks the speed
I had the LE felt pretty slappy and dead. Was the midsole different than the basic or what?
@@SergiuSalcau00 I also have the normal Novablast and they feel a quite a bit firmer, although they both have the same FF Blast + foam
I actually prefer the LE.. But that's just me.
Sorry I have not
Same fit as the Superblast?
mesh is not as baggy I think a better fit
I'm wondering how they compare to the Saucony Ride 17 with the PWRRUN+. Both bouncy daily trainers.

what's better? novablast v3 or v4 ?

That stack really looks huge. 41.5mm in the back? Yowzas.
Same as v3 but outrigger is for sure more prominent.
This vs the Vomero 17?
Compared in the written review here: www.roadtrailrun.com/2023/10/asics-novablast-4-mulit-tester-review-8.html

Idk, they look like a downgrade from the 3
i was thinking the opposite, but i hated almost everything about the 3
Version 3 was very good but those shoes are huge, with a pair of size 10.5us they look like clown shoes, I stopped using them for pure aesthetics
What a horrible color
