LYRICS:
I see you,
You on the edge of your seat
Ain’t you got some place to be?
Was hoping the suspense would kill you
Tell me how would you begin
Watching and waiting to sink your teeth in
Come on and give me your expert opinion
Ah fuck it
I settled down in a dump
Heard a crowd screaming jump
So I came to the window
I Said “what the fuck have I done?”
They said “we just want your blood,
You know we like you better in limbo”.
So come on and take a shot
You just can’t get enough
Don’t let the fact that you know nothing stop you talking now.
Cos when all is said and done,
My names still on your tongue
But tell me,
Why you gotta kick me when I’m down?
You better pray I don’t get up this time around.
And why you trying to put me in the ground?
Don’t you know I’m a seed
I won’t stop at the roof
Go ahead bury me
This is how I grow
It’s how I thrive
Yeah,
I know it’s all in good fun but
Don’t say it’s coming from love,
I see those arms in akimbo
& Don’t set that phaser to stun cos
What doesn’t kill me well it better like run like hell,
Yeah you better run like hell
So come on and take a shot
You just can’t get enough
Don’t let the fact that you know nothing stop you talking now.
Cos when all is said and done,
My names still on your tongue
So tell me why you gotta kick me when I’m down?
You better pray I don’t get up this time around
And why you trying to put me in the ground?
Don’t you know I’m a seed
I won’t stop at the roof
Go ahead bury me
This is how I grow
It’s how I thrive.
Remember this line that you crossed
Look back at and stare at the dot
Know there’s no turning back now
Now that you’ve opened the gates
Corrupted the memory, error, failsafe
Commence the countdown
Remember this line that you crossed
Look back and stare at the dot
Know there’s no way to fix us no
Oh god what the fuck have you done
I loved you like daughters
I loved you like sons
So tell me,
Yeah tell me why you gotta kick me when I’m down?
Oliver went from "What doesn't kill you makes you wish you were dead" to "What doesn't kill me, well, it better run like hell".
If that isn't progress, I don't know what is.
Fall_Vapor_KnJ hell yeahhh 👏👏👏
Thought the same! A true inspiration.
Yeah you better run like hell
Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh this is my favorite song of the whole album.
The first lyric is also "you on the edge of your seat." A call back to their first EP.
I swear this whole album has different aspects of every genre. Shows how good the band really is
yass
Not every genre, just the 3 most popular genres: Pop, hip-hop, and metal
Rap, eletronic? hello?
DBZ Guru But they’re missing what made them BMTH. Oof
Sara Sky Knudsen Begone newb fan. They started with Deathcore and that’s how it’s always been until Sempiternal which they went to Metalcore. They weren’t pop until That’s The Spirit. As someone that’s been here since the beginning it’s sad to see that they can’t even throw one song in the entire album that’s a throwback to their old stuff. They sold out to make a sound that would make it to mainstream media. We’re here to mosh.

Oli : "Yes"

Oli: "GREAT"
Jokes on you, Oli is the producer, and this entire thing happened inside his head! Also, Jordan helped.
@@gabehere He's not, he is an amazing lyricist and he may help with the production but Jordan is the mastermind behind these songs
@@calare7057 Jordan need more recognition he's a music genius
Oli and Jordan produced the album. Lmao
This shit is... absolutely... INCREDIBLE! The children's choir, the beat, the production, the melody and the visceral bridge! This is probably my favorite off Amo.
Honestly!
amazing lyrics too
IKKKKK
That heavy bass that comes on in the chorus too 👏😭
Agreed and just the production of the whole album is top notch. So well put together. It really is a "complete album". Not just songs with numbers but an actual start to finish listening experience. I've been recommending it to a lot of people who've never heard of them.
Imagine having such a closed music taste that you miss out on enjoying the diversity of this album!
Zazzy V Who would’ve thought? 🤔 (sarcasm btw) I’ve been digging every song so far with the different aspects
thank you!!
This has been my thought. I see nothing but hate on them and it’s actually pretty good. People just like to hold on to what they like and think artists shouldn’t evolve or experiment with new sounds.
Hmm maybe cause are music taste is heavy rock up two death metal just maybe u thought of that
touche! they'll probably lose a lot of fans but they'll gain a lot of new fans too..
Mate this song has to be the weirdest mix of all different genres and techniques and it's bloody great
Ikr!
I agree 100%
That's the most Australian comment I've ever read.
@@lucasgoncalves7774 I'm actually English, but close enough lmao
Have you heard “popular monster” by falling in reverse before?
"i loved you like daughters, i loved you like sons, so tell me why you gotta kick me when i'm down" says a lot
That’s for every fan that became a hatter... just sad

So no one is gonna talk about that hard-ass beat in the outro??
Not a fan personally, kinda feels out of place. This outro is probably the only thing i dont like from this album. Its called an experiment for a reason, some may like it some may not. With BMTH every experiment is always worth it! Regardless of the outro, they are and always will be incredibly talented.
Feels very Kanye influenced that beat at the end.
Like something that y would've heard on Yeezus
@@dangreen4200 when I was hearing this for the 1st time I thought the outro was the intro of another song
@@PatriciaPereira-vr9xn lol same! I was hoping for that to tie in to another song
That's actually my favorite part of the song
"I loved you like daughters, I loved you like sons" holy shit this song is so powerful and sad, the dark music theme matches these lyrics perfectly. This band deserves nothing but love
this is my absolute favourite song from 'amo'
that bit hits hard
This is NOT a pop album. This is an album of them mashing together many different elements of music to the point where they think it sounds just right. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. I personally think this album is an experimental experience that really is best heard blind the first time. It’s so interesting to see what ideas are brought to the table. (PS Suicide Season is one of my favorite albums)
In fact, this is a massive moody electro-rock album.
yeah so far im alright with this new album and my fav album from them is SS
Matt Nicholls was bored af while the making of this... Dunno what he, Lee and kean will do in the live performances
The first song I heard by them was mantra, so I think I'm naturally more inclined to like this album? And yeah, I really enjoy it. Just to help you prove your case haha
@@noctloudernowwebzine4802 in fact you are incorrect
Really wasn’t expecting a rap vibe, but this is so good ahhh the beat and vocals I love it
right tho? i was thrown off a little
Orion H Black me too!! but his vocals are amazing. I don’t like rap, but this is pretty tolerable 😂
I heard this on the radio and to be straight up, I thought it was 21 Pilots... I agree, I dig...

Im an old fan of bmth. I'm with them since count your blessings and you know what? This album is fucking sick. They know exactly what they are doing. And this track? Masterpiece. Its plenty of metalcore bands out there. Let them be them.
@ same, even though i am more of an progressive metal/metalcore fan. Though I equally love Sempiternal. They kinda share the first plcae for me.

@@melon7700 it's TH-cam, not an English essay. If you can't make out what he said, you're probably shit at English yourself.
He missed some punctuation. It's TH-cam. His original point still stands.
These lyrics are being quoted as if they are good, but compared to any of bmth older stuff, this sounds like it was written by a 14 year old girl.
Nvm the hate Jackson, i know exactly what this line is supposed to mean, keep it up brother :D
This is such a cool song with a very cool vibe...
As much as people want Bring Me The Horizon to go back to their Deathcore roots or such, they just need to move on and stop complaining. They aren't going to go back because of the fan opinions, but they will if THEY want to. It's okay to wish and stuff, but I've seen so much of it that they should know to just drop it. Although Bring Me The Horizon isn't one of the best deathcore groups anymore (because they don't make it), they are the king of music in their own throne. This song genuinely surprised me, as the rap vibe and this 'retribution' feel, and it is absolutely awesome. The "oh god what have you people done? I took you in and you turned against me when I was there for you" makes an absolutely amazing song. Change is inevitable, and there's nothing that you can do to make it go back. Move on if you don't like this music, don't just attack other people because they like what you don't. Call me a That's The Spirit fanboy, but they make their own music to put you in the mood for listening. I could be skipping medicine or mother tongue, but getting into the vibe of the song makes the experience all that much better, along with the other songs.
They are reaching far more people now. Keep moving forward.
preach! all these fans that bash on BMTH need to chill out and just listen to their old stuff for real.. the band doesn't need these kinds of "fans"..
For anyone wondering, the kids singing are from Jordan's village :D
I was wondering if they were a kid choir ensemble or something but that must be super sentimental for Jordan!
He said it his favourite song in NME interview :D

"Don't you know I'm a seed, I won't stop at the ROOTS!"
You had one job!!
This song is lyrically GENIUS! The beat is soo good too. This is one of my favorites, years later, and its completely underrated.
The album is amazing, its so different to mainstream music and so unique
As a lifelong fan but also someone who stopped listening to bmth after thats the spirit because i judged too early... oli, lee, matt, matt and jordan i apologise on the behalf of everyone who didn't see the potential in the new albums, that "sons and daughters" line broke my heart! i'll be seeing you all this september and i can't wait.
I don't get why people hate so much on That's The Spirit. It's the perfect combo of bmth's roots and jordan's modern innovation. It will always be my favorite album unlike amo. But mantra slaps tho
This basically explains they're new album response

The way he articulates “around” with the chord changes is excellent
I've listened to Crucify Me, It Never Ends and so on so on, plenty of times and I enjoy them all. Sure, this new album is not anywhere near metal, but it's still badass, you have to give it a chance before saying, "fuck this." You gotta look at it from a different perspective.
Agreed. It's pop, but it has those dark tunes which make it unique. Lyrically it's way too good. I feel as an experimental stuff this album kicks ass
@@Sanjeet_1810 Its not even one genre either, it makes it so much more interesting and different.
No, I don't owe it a chance.
I am entitled to not like this. I do not need to give this a chance just because it is BMTH.
I wouldn't listen to music like this from any other band, so why should I listen to this any more than once?
I am allowed to not like this.
You are just as bad as the idiots that are mindlessly shitting on the band for changing.
Both people are entitled to their opinion, and that's fucking that. So fuck off with your "you need to give it a chance"

I never considered this style to be rapping, and hated this format. Saying that Oli really fucking pulls it off well.
Then, you don't listen up too much rappers
Nah hes bad
As a fan of both... you're wrong
What if this song is them lowkey responding to their fans complaining about missing the old BMTH? Lol
It is . Oli and Jordan Said 3 songs on AMO are deep and have Hidden meanings on why the Band aren't what they used to be 15 years ago . It's on NME
Highkey*
thats what i think too
If I am not mistaken, it's about Oli's relationship with fans who did not support him during his breakup from Hannah and all that drama that ensued. I think it does not reference fans who do not enjoy the new style; it seems they do not take it that hard and rather make fun of people hating on their new style (heavy metal).
On the other hand, why you gotta kick me is more about Oliver feeling betrayed by fans who blamed him for the breakup and judged him for cheating on Hannah and kicked him when he felt down.
Well, looks like Oli no longer gives a fuck, but people don't wanna understand it...
So many music styles in one album! You did an amazing job, even though I still love your metal stuff the most

This song is fucking awesome
I like to think that sense Oli has dots on his eyelids, when he says “look back and stare at the dot” he talks about how you look at someone you love or hate and how much you hurt them only to see they are no longer there in your life and you realize your mistake.
About 5 months ago this song made me think about my crush, and now I understand why. She got me suspended, said things about me behind my back and was basically kicking me while I was down

The whole album was my inspiration for the summer of 2020th. I had a depleted nervous system and was terribly ill - I could not get out of bed, I could not walk, it was difficult to speak. These tracks were incredibly inspiring to me and played on repeat every night for several months in a row. And under the impression of it, I sat down to create my own stuff. This album is incredibly diverse stylistically - there's a mix of so many genres... And all the experiments are so fresh and interesting. This music helped me to breathe, dream and keep calm. And today I'm here again.
thats cool

And at least we know BMTH’s member are few of a real musician.

I'm a MASSIVE Linkin Park fan and I really love their last album One More Light... but I have to admit that Amo is even better. Amo is like One More Light meets A Thousand Suns. BMTH is singlehandedly keeping the genre of rock afloat in the mainstream. That takes real guts.
Can't say the same but it is certainly a better than linkin park's last album. Btw, I'm huge metalcore and linkin park fan...
As much as I hated on Amo when it came out, this is still one of my favorite BMTH songs to this day. The scales they use for each instrument are just sooooo crazy. It's like listening to a dream collapse.
