The power of falsetto. The sound Is thin like air 'cause It mostly Is, staying In the high register. Most male singer use It to mimic a natural female singer's angelic voice. A good one will often time soften It by injecting bit and pieces of his real voice through ,because you can easily end up sounding like Mickey Mouse if you're not careful.

I love how they take this experimental futuristic dance/techno sound with ethereal/digital synths and vocals that also sound haunting in a way, and then combine it with the classic bmth drums, low guitars and group vocals that make you wanna headbang.
It reminds me of the performance at Royal Albert Hall with the orchestra, how they’ll mix different genres in a way and it works. I know they are fans of Linkin Park too and it reminds me of what they would do in a similar way by mixing rock and hip hop, etc.
I just admire that desire to push your boundaries as an artist and make something unique.

Honestly I don't care what people say in my opinion this group is probably one of the best alt rock/metal groups I've ever known. The fact that they had the balls to get out of their comfortable zone and actually sound fucking good just shows it. As an heavy fan of both of these bands, I don't hear how it sounds like Never Go Back. Yet, I can say that the ambient singing in the background does sound like the style Amy uses in Evanescence. I'm nearly 40, and grew up on "proper metal", and I bloody love this! Music evolves and changes, think out of the box people and just enjoy it.
But what if people just don't enjoy it? People are free to express that. For a lot of people bmth were a favourite band for their dark sound, this album is like something by justin bieber. That's gunna upset people obviously. People need to just accept that fact and enjoy it if they do enjoy it.

@@roemip that's fair enough, there is a hell is probably my favourite album of theirs overall, but they didn't move out of my music range until they dropped this album. Although sempiternal and that's the spirit are massively different genres to anything that came before, they were still within the realm of music I'd listen to even if it weren't bmth.
Amo is not an album I'd listen to from anyone, regardless of whether or not it came from bring me, therefore I will not listen to it .

It’s wild to read some of these comments. Y’all act like BMTH hasn’t changed their sound on EVERY album. Not to mention, there were tons of synths and edm sounds on “there is a hell...” and “Sempiternal”. Even songs like “Oh No” and “Follow You” on that’s the spirit helped this transition. Not to mention, the lyrics explore the same or similar themes which are conveyed with each album. Not to mention their production is very tight despite that they admitted it was a challenging risk-despite being overall happy with their creation.
Since they released, “that’s the spirit” BMTH has consistently noted that their sound will continue to evolve and would be poppier, electronic infused and an attempt to bring their sound/style into mainstream radio-sounds pretty cool to me to want to share their stories using different musical mediums and outlets. These may not be your goals for them, but luckily you don’t have to listen to it.
To be surprised by this “sound” suggests that you’re not a fan of BMTH, but rather a fan on chugs and breakdowns-and that’s okay! You’re entitled to listen and love what you want. But to just shit on something and constantly cry, “I want more screams and breakdowns?” has grown tired and futile. Truth is: they don’t care. Their fan base continues to grow. It may be polarizing for some fans, but obviously not most. So, move on. RIP BMTDeathcore. ⚰️
If you’re feeling dissatisfied, check out acts like Northlane, Our Hearts Wake, The Plot In You, Silent Planet, Erra, This or the Apocalypse and Architects if you want to blow your mind with ‘intellectual heaviness.’

Are we not going to talk about the snapshot photo that popped up around 8 seconds in? pause it and check it out. The whole song is so ominous and contains depth that i haven't heard in a long time. The lyrics are so poetic, 10 of 10 for sure!
I just imagine the person I used to talk to a while back would be listening to this track. It's not that we've talked about it ever, but the lyrics come out as if he is still speaking into my ears.
I feel his presence with the music and for that reason BMTH will forever have a very special personal place in my heart.
I'm grateful to experience this closure and I really hope he is okay, happy and loved.

IllusiveVex it’s literally my favorite thing about BMTH, every album has a different sound, vibe and energy but if approached with an open mind you’ll recognize how amazing, creative and envelope pushing their music really is!!! One thing I’ve learned being a fan from the start is always expect something different and understand they will experiment with their sound, they can’t be put into a box as a single genre, and they will continually surprise the world with their sound! This band hasn’t received the recognition and respect they deserve! They push the envelope of music with their creativity, experimentation, and the blending/blurring of the lines between genres! They are one of the torchbearers for contemporary alternative rock... the blending of electronic and traditional rock, with lyrics with meaning and depth! They create music on their terms, they have made the music they want to and are ever evolving and trying out new and daring sounds! To me they are the crest of the wave of what modern alternative rock can be! Especially with Amo they’ve created a sound that truly can’t be labeled as a single genre... I believe with time Amo will receive the respect and admiration it deserves as a masterpiece of its time! This is the future of music, defying traditional genres, blurring the lines of those genres that creates a sound that is unique, creative and shows where the future of rock music is going!
That is Amo as an album in a nutshell! You listen cuz you love BMTH and then are like whaaatttt after listening to it! However if you keep an open mind and give it the chance it deserves... the whole album is just fucking mind blowing!!!!
