    You make this look so simple. Great camera angles, so clear and informative!

    Super clean Roy, virtually no pick sound too. I know the action on your electrics is super low but my goodness, that’s not the case with these acoustics and you’re still fast as lightening!!!!

    Hey Roy, man I just discovered your channel and am an instant fan. I've been really delving into different types of picking techniques, and your bridge technique overcomes the problem of strings flapping about. I like that you designed a pick to compensate for the tone loss inherent in that technique. Mindblowing stuff, man! I look forward to checking out more from you. Cheers!

    That's great and let's say unique stuff as always - thank you! Personally I'd like to incorporate some speedy nylon string stuff in to my music, but seeing that those strings on my poor old gut-stringer are trying to win the highest action award, I think it's not going to happen - then again I might be able to sweep with it.... I mean the floors! Cheers!

    Is that clear pick a new version of that phatboy? Consider it bought!

  • @bushmonster3591

    This is incredible! Picking aside, your fretting hand looks so efficient. Watching your electric stuff, I just assumed that your action was set so low as to allow you to clear the strings with the smallest amount of movement possible, but you don't seem to lose any speed with the higher action on the acoustic!
    By the way, what's with the lower horn on your guitars? Does it improve the weight distribution for you?

    • @LawofThree
      @LawofThree  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Cheers! I started cutting the bottom horn off my guitars around 30 years ago. I realised when I played 4 note per string phrases on the low strings above the 12th fret, the side of my fretting hand was always hitting the bottom horn. So I reached for the wood saw, cut it off and reshaped. Best move I ever made. I now have all my electric guitars shaped the same way. On my fretting hand technique. I’ve been working a system on economy of motion for as long as I can remember. The idea is to get the hand so efficient it doesn’t look like it’s moving much at all. Much more on this and Hybrid Sarod picking in future videos. Thanks for the support 😎🙏

    are you picking so close to bridge for the tension in the string or the tone ? i enjoy picking further back but never seen this close.

    • @LawofThree
      @LawofThree  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, You are on the money! It’s exactly for those two things. I designed a 10mm pick with speed bevels to help alt picking (specifically the uppick) but also to compensate for the Bass lost picking so far back at the saddle. I also noticed if you pick far enough back at the saddle using a thicker pick the chirp almost disappears .
      The idea is to feel relaxed as alt picking is quite a cumbersome technique.
      Thx for the Q and positive posts bud!
      Slainte!

    • @LawofThree
      @LawofThree  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same thickness buddy but the indentation in the centre of the pick is deeper for better grip so it makes it look thinner, especially when the material is acrylic . The deep indentation is a new feature on the design 😉
