I use my Pampered Chef non-stick turkey roasting pan over two burners to cook 10 lbs. of ground beef at a time with diced green pepper, onion, and garlic. I freeze them in 2-cup portions for quick chili, tacos, spaghetti, and casseroles.
I use my roaster. It's not just for turkeys, lol. You can fit a ton of ground beef in it and it so easy. And you can use your oven for something else. Possibly baking some cookies 😁
Hello ladies!! Boring?? 🤯Uhm. NO! Maybe she just didn't have her volume up. 🔈🔉🔊 But we all are entitled to our opinion, right? I agree that some people go for the recipes more, and that's what they prefer. Busy lives and all. I totally understand! I love that anyone can just fast forward to the recipe parts and we all win! But I do believe that most of us love your friendship, comedy and banter. I know I do!! Please don't change for anyone. Just keep on keepin' on, just the way you are. Honest and true. YUMMY recipes!!! Oh, and I have a microphone just like yours!! 😆🤣
We ate your spaghetti sauce with lamb tonight. We added a few extra veggies, plus we got a giant bag of tomatoes in one of our bulk veggie boxes, so we chopped up half of them and added them to our spaghetti sauce bags, we used about half fresh/half tinned tomatoes. We did four spaghetti sauce bags. We just heat it in our slow cooker and it was so yummy! We all loved it! My son and dil are autistic so finding meals they love is difficult sometimes. We have to adjust your meals a bit but we get so much inspiration from you two!
Angela, I'm so happy to hear this! One of my sons is on the Spectrum so I know how difficult it can be with textures and tastes and preferences. I'm glad we can be provide some inspiration for meals for you that work.
In the middle of doing my freezer meals right now, just taking a break from veggie chopping! I'll probably substitute some of these with lamb mince ( ground lamb). I like your chattiness! It's lovely of you both to share your lives with us.
Thank you Angela! That's sweet of you to say. I've never cooked with ground lamb before but I'm quite sure that many of these recipes would work well with it. Please let us know how it goes.
Hi Patricia. Home made noodles cook way faster than store bought noodles. I think they are only 5 or 6 minutes, max! In this case, I wouldn't add the noodles until the day of cooking if you're using fresh pasta. If you're using boxed pasta, we advise people to cook it a minute or two under the al dente time listed on the package. It still cooks a bit more in the meal, so we don't want it to get mushy. I hope that helps!
The recipes made me watch a second video. The chattiness made me watch the third. It’s as if you both climbed out of my brain and started doing videos on freezer meals. Next time I use my mix and chop I’ll use it as a mic 🎤 😂
I’ll never look at my knock off meat masher the same way again😀 Thank you ladies for the labels; I was very excited when I opened my newsletter yesterday!
I grew up on a truck farm (veggies and fruit) and can grow and harvest, and store them well, but cannot keep a house plant alive for anything including cacti.
I did find your channel by you making that ground beef videos. I subscribed and have gone back to watch old ones so I agree, everyone wants ground beef recipes especially with the price of beef lately. I refuse to make a tiny roast for 2 and paying over $30 for it. I can appreciate how expensive it would be to make enough for a large family. Ground beef is just about the only beef I make lately. Fortunately pork is still reasonable but my hubby started by complaining he was sick of various types pork chops and pork roasts.
I'm not diabetic, but I have IBD that is triggered by sugar or anything high in carbs. I usually omit the sugar or use a substitue, plus I triple the veggies and cut the carbs in half. It's a bit of a pain but once I have figured it out I try it, and keep using it if my son, dil and I like it. The hardest part is trying to figure out what extra veg to put in.
You guys are the best nut bags 😂. You remind me of me and my bestie. Get creative.. a spatula, whisk, veggie peeler... all sound like amazing microphones for your upcoming episodes. Keep it YOU, keep it LITE and don't change a thing. You guys are so much fun!!
I watched almost all of your videos and joined the group on Facebook. I wouldn't have done that if you weren't so helpful and entertaining even to a vegan (for my health) I get great ideas from you for when I start my channel :)
Hello, in my spaghetti sauce I also add grated carrot, zucchini and have now started to add grated pumpkin too. This bulks it up and none notices the extra veg. I have a lso thrown in a couple of cubes of spinach (fooled the husband who thought it was parsley)
I've got some ground beef recipes ready to go, did a lot of prep today for it, and the chicken recipes too. I'm going to get together with a friend soon once she's moved...although, with packing and moving, maybe we should do it sooner so she doesn't have to cook too after working and then packing! I'm looking forward to this, I got my silicone reusable bags and holders, and today I prepped a few. This will help me a lot for healthier eating too as I have Type 2 Diabetes. Some recipes I can't use, but I also can adapt. Thanks for the video! ~ the other Sharla
Christie here: You can't have too many Sharla's in your life! :D Sounds like you are READY! And I love it that you have found a friend to do meals with. It definitely makes it more fun.
You don't have to water aloe and cactus very often. When I got my first apartment, I thought I needed a plant, so I got a Sanseveria (snake plant.) They're rumored to be unkillable, although that's not technically true. I kept it on the half wall next to the sink and I actually kept it alive.
Christie here: yep! cactus and succulents are pretty easy to care for. And you're right! A snake plant is rather hardy as well. I'm happy to see Sharla 'branching out'. lol
Hi Anne! There are links in the video description to most of the recipes. The recipes are always put in the Club first so a few of them are right now only available in the Club, but most are available on our site through the links in the description.
What % of ground beef do you recommend? I'm not in Canada so I don't have the same stores or discounts but I'm afraid to get grease all over the oven? But still am trying to get best price?walmart is $4 a pound for 80% chuck 5 lb roll or 3.18 a pound for 73% 10 lb. But is there significant fat loss that the lower price per pound is not worth it?
Hi there. From a website I found regarding Canadian beef: canadabeef.ca/ground-beef-know-how, "regular" ground beef is 70% lean, "lean" ground beef is 83% and "extra-lean" ground beef is 90%. We typically buy lean ground beef because that is our favourite (well, Sharla doesn't eat it, but Christie likes lean the best). You don't lose quite so much with the 83%, and it's less messy than the 70%. I think like most things, buy the best that you can afford if it's important to you. The magic of freezer meals is that if you someday see the 80% go on sale for the same as the 73%, grab as much as you can and make freezer meals with it! Then, it won't matter to you as much because you got the deal when you saw it. Personally, for preference, I would stick with the 80% ground beef because I like it best and the 90% isn't worth the extra cost. It's a happy medium. I hope that helps!
Hi Ginny! Sorry about that. It was saved in Drafts and I had forgotten to push "publish". Our daughter had her surgery last week and I seem to be dropping the ball on everything else, but I'm slowly getting my feet back underneath me.
The overstirred ground beef phenomenon, I want to refer to as "slubby," because that's a silky texture that's both soft, almost furry, and nubby, due to variegated texture. It's the "furry" texture of overstirred-to-a-powder beef that I object to; and there's a subtle difference in flavor because it doesn't really brown.
We have tossed around the idea of time-stamping and have left it alone for now, but we could revisit the idea. We kind of like the "au-natural" feel of the whole video. We'll keep it in mind. Thank you for the feedback!!
You guys are SO NOT BORING.. i think you are awesome together. I cant even tell you how excited I am about these labels. Thank you so so much xo
Thank you for saying that! And yay! Labels! We hope you enjoy them.
You two are such a hoot! Pay no attention to haters! Love you ladies! Also, thank you for the ground beef recipes!
I just found your channel and I think I'm really going to like it. I want to do more freezer cooking. It looks like you are fun, not boring.

You girls rock! I love your humour! Don’t let anyone say you are boring, lol
Awww...thanks Cathy!
I love that you are chatty. Feels like I'm cooking with friends.
You lady's certainly are not boring, love you both and your channel.

I love your chatter. It is so much fun watching the dynamics between the two of you. Whoever said you were boring needs to get a life.
I agree!!!
We enjoyed the "microphones"!!! Thank you for the recipes. Beefy Rice is for dinner tonight!
you guys chat!! This makes us feel like we are included! I love it!!

I love you both - you’re hilarious! And so happy to watch 2 Canadians! ❤ also you have to use those “microphones” from now on! Lol
Welcome! Oh my goodness. I forgot about the "microphones". hahaha That was a funny day to film. You can't take yourself to seriously!

You girls are a hoot!! 💕 Thank you for all the work you do and share! Awesome coffee date 😃
Yeah🙌 I look at ground beef in my fridge like... Why are you here? AND what do I do with you?🤭
I hope this gave you some ideas you can use!
In the hamburger macaroni skillet recipe, I bet you could add just a little chili powder and make a chili mac skillet.
That sounds like it would be tasty!
How long do u suggest to cook homemade noodles for the freezer meals?

Love the ground beef ideas!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
I’ll never look at my knock off meat masher the same way again😀
Thank you ladies for the labels; I was very excited when I opened my newsletter yesterday!
You're so welcome! We've been wanting to be able to do this for you for so long and we are so glad we were finally able to.
OMGosh y'all had me ROLLING I was laughing so hard!!! Thank you for all the awesome recipes and incredibly entertaining education!! ^_^
I grew up on a truck farm (veggies and fruit) and can grow and harvest, and store them well, but cannot keep a house plant alive for anything including cacti.
Would you ladies be willing to show one of your prep days? I would love to see it
Same!!
You can find one of our prep days (pre-mega freezer meal marathon session) here: th-cam.com/video/t8dkCQWGA5Y/w-d-xo.html

Chatty is fabulous ❤
I put my ground beef into the instant pot for 25 minutes then drain and chop. It comes out perfect every time!
Great tip!

I printed labels yesterday and it worked great!
That makes us so happy! ❤️

I could not find the Cowboy Baked Beans on the club website! 😞
Hi Ginny! Sorry about that. It was saved in Drafts and I had forgotten to push "publish". Our daughter had her surgery last week and I seem to be dropping the ball on everything else, but I'm slowly getting my feet back underneath me.
@@FreezerMeals101 Goodness! I hope everything is well!! And no worries about the recipe. Some things are just more important. 😊
Love your chattiness
why isnt the cowboy baked bean recipe on your website?
It's in the Club!
This was a great funny one, but I enjoyed it!
I ate my last Ground Beef Stroganoff tonight - guess what's on my prep list for next weekend!?
The overstirred ground beef phenomenon, I want to refer to as "slubby," because that's a silky texture that's both soft, almost furry, and nubby, due to variegated texture. "Slubby". That's going in Christie's personal dictionary. Thankyouverymuch! It's the perfect word for it! hahaha
Hay do not say sorry you kids sound like my sister and i so i am right at home lol
Ok u gals r nuts now lol lol 😁😁😁😁
Completely insane. It was a weird day, I tell ya!
I don’t mind the chatty moments at all. But I’ll be honest….I watch at 1.5 speed with subtitles so I can get through it all a bit quicker 😂
Great idea! We don't mind if you skip the chatty bits. 🤣 We know! Haha
I’m sorry, it’s Herb! Not erb!❤
Depends on where you're from! 😊
Some helpful subscriber could time stamp your videos for you.
hint hint....
We have tossed around the idea of time-stamping and have left it alone for now, but we could revisit the idea. We kind of like the "au-natural" feel of the whole video. We'll keep it in mind. Thank you for the feedback!!
Y'all really look ridiculous talking into the meat choppers.
🤣
