    the padding is for partner drills,catching punches,kicks,knees and etc, these gloves are very popular in Holland where kickboxing is king.

    Thanks for all the reviews! I know this is an old video, but it is useful to me even now. I would like your recommendation, though. These seem to be great for larger hands, good grip bar, and decent wrist support. All are high on my priority list. Is there another that you’d recommend more than these for a training kickboxing glove? Or does this take the cake
    Thanks. I’d tip but I’d don’t see the donate button!

  • @dennisvdh4751
    @dennisvdh4751 ปีที่แล้ว

    After seeing your review i bought a pair of BGP'S. Was pleased with the build quality but the wrist support did let me down a little bit. Also the liner on my left glove was really loose to the point that it got in between my fingers. I liked the overal robustness of the glove and quality feel it gave but sold them after a short time of use. The padding in the palm also got in the way of making a full fist. Like you said this is an hybrid glove leaning more to the muay-thay side.
    Thanks for the review and good luck with your channel!🥊

    Appreciate all your reviews, they're super helpful. I did have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering.
    1. How have the Fly Superlace X's held up after usage?
    2. Will you ever do a review on the Rival RS100 Professional Sparring Gloves, I would love to see your take of a review on them!

    Windy is pretty much the original, founded in 1951. Thai Smai was established in 1960. Sandee was established in 1977. Twins came from Windy in 1992. King & Top King came from Twins. Top King was the later of those 2, founded in 2009. Yokkao was founded in 2010.
    Since Windy started selling on Ringside/Combat Sports in 2006, they always had different models for the US market than their standard Thai market glove. Their original Thai market velcro gloves (BGV/BGVH) remained mainly unchanged for over a decade. The pair I bought around 2010 was the old model. The latex came packed so hard, it felt like it was filled with plastic. Once loosened up, the padding had almost the consistency of Bayfill (thinking those Top Ten rubber headgear used in amateurs). Those gloves were bulletproof, heard stories of them lasting over 5 years of daily use. Unfortunately, I never made it that far, the thumb placement caused me to sprain both of my thumbs multiple times in under 3 rounds of use. I sold them the day they arrived.
    This model you're reviewing appears to be the new Proline (according to their website), hence all the design changes. They look like they'd be a lot more comfortable than their old standard model. I wonder if their durability is still bulletproof.
    (sorry for late comment)

      I ordered mine directly from windy, so they sent them straight from Thailand to germany, where i live.
      I got mine in 18oz, but the actually weight 15oz. They Look really huge and are more roomier than most Thai gloves. Especially to the sides. My Handy length fit perfectly in the gloves. But I Do like my gloves a little wider. I also got an 10oz muay Thai gloves from windy and windy gloves are more wider than most Thai Brands. Theyre my Brand to go when it comes to boxing gear. Ill be in Thailand in december and cant wait to try out their newest model

    Hey thanks for all the reviews and info on so many gloves :) Would you suggest these guys at 16oz, their version without the padded palm at 160z (if you've tried them) or the Fairtex BGV9 16oz to use almost exclusively for sparring? I have a set of BGV14 12oz that I use for bag stuff and really like their fit but interested in the comparison between the BVG9 vs Windys. Thanks again. Love the channel!

    Hey man great review, I bought them today because of your review, I love them so far, but are these good for sparring?? Since the padding seems quite hard and stiff, I tried the regular windy gloves at the store as well and the pading there was much softer. I bough the pro line though because overall they are nicer, but what do you think about the padding?

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! You have to break these in quite a bit before I would use them for sparring as the layered foam is a bit stiff at first.

    You should do a review on their new pro boxing series equipment. I bought the whole set on a huge discount which was a steal with 30% off and 10% off on top. The new pro boxing series gloves are amazing and comparable to winnings but with better wrist support. Winning are more emphasized on knuckles.

    Thai gloves are not very comfy in the thumb area.
    Fairtex is the best of em all.
    I have medium sized hands.
    Raja/yokkao/windy.. all of em dont have a natural closed fist.
    Fairtex has the better closed fist.
    My experience is that true boxing gloves ..like say Ringside imf tech, titles , sabas have a much more natural closed fist and fit a whole lot more comfy than thai brands
    Whats your take on that Carlo?

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Traditional boxing gloves definitely tend to be more comfortable and put more of an emphasis on proper fist closure/ placement/ comfort than Thai gloves. The sports are different so I understand why thai style gloves are designed the way they are with a shorter cuff, more padding throughout, and the thai leather being very stiff initially. You’re dealing with punches, kicks, elbows, knees, clinching, etc in Muay Thai, so the gloves are designed to protect in that nature.
