Also, no-one clocked the symbolism of the church scene?? The kiss at the altar, the acceptance of the gift and in from of priests (dead or alive) Lestat is basically saying they got married that night.
Despite all of this darkness (Rest In Paradise, Claudia and Madeline!), there's two silver linings: Assad watches your videos and IWTV has been RENEWED for Season 3! Rock Star Lestat is coming! 😭💔💞💐⚰️🪦💀👻🎸🎤🎶💥
Yes, true. But Lestat did grab and choke Claudia first. So technically Louis was responding to that and the dam broke from there. 7 years of pent up frustration came out.
Claudia is funny and defiant as she should. When Lestat gets after her in his rant… in a nutshell, she was saying and got after him (Lestat): I didn’t ask to be made, had no choice in the matter, and now you upset that I am just like you Lestat? Chile plsss.
As a fan of this book series since '87.This show is FIRE!!!! Louis should have just left Claudia alone instead of bringing a "child" into him and Lestat's fundamentally dysfunctional relationship.I wish Anne Rice was here on the live to break down her characters lolz.So glad that this show is getting a season 3.
Armand def could’ve done more than he did, he has shown his power. The reason why he didn’t is because he doesn’t like Claudia and wants Louie to himself and that’s what annoys me with Louie to not see. My heart broke for Claudia
As to Armand, was he restrained because he was no longer the coven leader? Santiago said he was the coven leader and did not approve Madeline's making. Maybe Armand couldnt act with as much freedom since losing the coven to Santiago. I'm wondering why Santiago kept Claudia's dress?
I knew that rat box would be important when Sam took time to explain how it worked. It was horrific to see them push Claudia in there. Delaney was beautiful and fierce in her defiance of this sham trial and I loved Madeline's response to the offer to join the coven. I was baffled when Louis said Lestat's version was truer....now I question everything Louis has said.
Shout-out to my (parasocially) favorite Cousin Elle with the Top Billing 🙌🏾💕 I love all of y'all and these slide shows be HITTIN' but the repast wouldn't be the same without her particular New Orleanian Spice 🥰🥰
The only reason I believe Lestat's recounting of the big fight is because Louis told Daniel that Lestat took him back to New Orleans, so that he could see what happened for himself. I am honestly disappointed in everyone's behavior, but damn if they all didn't look divine. Why is there only one episode left? :/ Also, all the ladies on the panel have been amazing. Thank you all for the commentary and the laughs. Claudia got the sendoff that she deserved ʚ♡ɞ
I think several of the panel members misinterpreted responses by the chara in this episode. If you are not familiar with the book, you miss a lot in order to effectively analyze each characters motivations. In the book, Armand did not intervene with Claudia. Yes, he wanted Louis, and this is what happened in the film. In the film, Armand admitted to Louis that he "could not help her." In the book, Armand was not part of the "trial." Madeleine in the book suffered a loss as she does in the film, and again in the series. The circumstances are different In the book and film , Madeleine wanted a child that would not die. Claudia filled that void. In the series, Madeleine is a seamstress who lost her entire family to Tuberculosis. she lost a younger sister. Madeleine , as millions of French citizens were under Nazi occupation. The struggle for survival was real. Her brief relationship with a young German officer subjected her to torment and she was treated as a sympathizer. These events happened during WWII. women were dragged through the streets. When Madeleine and Claudia meet for the first time, the dynamic between the two was hostile. Claudia began to understand Madeleine's melancholy and struggles. Madeleine began to treat Claudia with respect . She thought that Claudia was just a precocious adolescent. The writers did an excellent job when they restructured the dynamic between the two characters. It was not salacious or inappropriate even though, chronologically Claudia is an adult in a child's body and Madeleine is chronologically younger. In the book, Armand makes a monstrous attempt to create Claudia into an adult, which failed disastrously.
Actually two out of the 5 panel members are extremely familiar with the books but the show doesn’t strictly stick to the narratives presented in the book so we share our opinions accordingly. When the show decided to make Madeline and Claudia’s relationship a romantic one it needs to be acknowledged, their union could have remained mother daughter or simply friends and have the same impact as well as Armand attending the trial. We are not here to recap the show from the books viewpoint the show often strays from it.
Yes, to the comment about Lestat’s brutality. Claudia to the very end.. was like, you may want to sit here and listen to this. But bay-bee. I remember as in an egg like Humpty Dumpty style. Yes, Louis if you can’t as usual stand up for yourself… please let me. This is you and Lestat’s lovers quarrel. Cos, I don’t know why I am even let along Madeleine on trial. Cos it is show not about me. 😮
Yessssss!!!! I've been waiting on yall!!! This episode was so good. I still love my VampBae Louis and Ima stick beside his depressed, sad, dramatic, selfish, unreliable memory self!!!! 😂 Lestat knows he can strut honey!!!! When he said Louis chased and hunted him and calling out to him saying Come to me, I legit said "Oh hell naw!!" 😂 Louis calling out to Lestat from his mind!!!!! Lestat HUNTED Louis!!!!!! Lestat if you don't sit yo tall string bean in a pin stripe suit ass down with this lying!!!!! Louis was saying Come to me????? Bruh made a whole record singing "It's been an hour since you been gone. And it's too long so come back home" Lestat.....stop it!! 😂 I'm skeptical of that convo about turning Claudia. Just the part about him saying it's against vampire law to turn her. That sounds too much like right for Lestat. But when Louis dragged Claudia across the carpet begging to turn her, I said "If you dont pick up our not yet daughter sister!!! She already burnt!!!!!! Pick her up!!!!" But I will say....I would've broke when Lestat cried about literally breaking Louis! My toxic behind would've caved at that very moment!!!! You're forgiven!!! My daughter sister went out like a G!!! Babygirl said she coming back and killing all of them!! And Louis is about to snap! And this is how he will be free of the coven for real. Louis snapping on them
Raglan James and the Talamasca reappears in the Anne Rice books. I won't spoil anything more. There is an appearance in the current series, "Mayfair Witches."
He actually pays close attention to what’s being said about the show finds the videos very entertaining and he’s thankful that we take time to discuss the show. If he could he would love to join the conversation it was very heartwarming because he didn’t have to say anything! Very Sweet Man! ❤️
Definitely loved the stream i had to rewatch their introduction their it isn't as one sided as we remember Louis was absolutely going after Lestat as well tbh this may be the one time Lestat told the truth ijs but calling to him was a wild reach😂
I've heard that rats and bugs ignore vampires in the books (bc vamps are so VERY dead and unappetizing), so I think the tv rats are built different for dramatic effect. It's definitely on-brand for the tv coven to torture her that specific way, too 🤦🏾♀
this episode changed nothing for me. lestat is still the bruce mf who dropped louis from 20,000 feet onto his head gripped up claudia by his throat. this episode makes lestat no less a massuh abuser.
This episode actually confirmed that Lestat was an abuser. Lestat admitted to it on stage. He said it against the coven's wishes, cos it wasn't in the script and Santiago looked pissed and had to stop the projections.
I find it very funny to me that people try to act like Lestat is somehow absolved of everything he did, especially since he outright admitted to being a POS lol
Your IWTV videos are very sharp and funny. Absolutely them and seek them out every week. And it’s great to see my sistas with such a strong following. But it’s a bit sad how much you all are hating on Louis and love Lestat. Louis is a mess, but he’s classic depressed and guilt-ridden and ashamed (and brainwashed to boot). Lestat is equally messy and downright sadistic at times but seems to get a pass because he’s a handsome, vibrant blonde man. Y’all know that’s not right. You didn’t even give Louis a nice photo montage like you did Lestat, Claudia and Armand 😢
Thank you for supporting I love to see it! And if you watch out season 1 recap or season 2 episode 1 - 6 you will see the love understanding and grace we provide for Louis as well as my lovely music/dance break montages (One of Louis was played at the end of this very video) This episode was Lestat’s long awaited return so the review reflects that.
I've never been a huge fan of Louis. But two things have completely turned me off with this character this season. 1. Using Armand's sexual trauma as a weapon. And 2. Dragging Claudia's burned body across a Persian rug as though she were a freshly slaughtered pig being dragged to a meat hanger. I'm very firmly team Lestat.
@@thevenusian1314I find it incredibly bizzare when people condem Louis for his behavior but are totally chill with Lestat being violent and controlling
the girl who plays claudia deserves an emmy for her perfomance this season

When Lestat says, "I am trying to restrain myself", it makes more sense with Lestat's account of the fight.
Yes, true. But Lestat did grab and choke Claudia first. So technically Louis was responding to that and the dam broke from there. 7 years of pent up frustration came out.
