    The problem with these videos is these are not people with MCL and ACL tears giving reviews on the brace whether or not it is supportive enough. The pod k8 are not. I am still looking for a better brace. I need to come out of joint all the time.

      Coming from someone with severe knee problems with a history of pain and instability, the Mobius provides good to great mobility and confident coverage. Downside is the quality of interior padding feels cheap, in my opinion, for what we're paying... Albeit really comfortable.
      Weighing the options on the pod, and have little experience seeing them in person.
      Coming from the original asterisk lace design (also hot and not the easiest to adjust or put on your leg).

      hands down Mobius are the best when worn properly with correct pad size and cinched down as tight as possible. I got the $3,800 custom DonJoy Defiance Pros this summer after a full knee construction, and I'm sorry to say they are HOT GARBAGE. Literally provide no bracing support, they're very uncomfortable, provide no impact protection, even with the mx guards attached, and they're heavy and bulky. I put the 20 degree stops in and I can still push my knee into painful hyperextension. I asked the sales rep why and he had no idea. What a joke! I've tried so many others as well but in my opinion nothing beats the Mobius X8s. They check every box. Donjoy is ripping people off with their faux "braces"

    POD K4 - Can wear the braces all day long with comfort; no chafing or sliding. 90 hours / 1 yr ride time and they are holding up great.

      And they're $50 cheaper than the Mobius and 1.2 pounds lighter! That's allot less weight trying to migrate down your leg.

    I’ve had Mobius for a couple seasons and I’ve hated them since Day 1 but after investing in them and ordering different pads and a different cord (the sizing chart is way off) I wished I went with the Pod’s. Also the Mobius is super hot.

      Why I didn't meet this comment 2 years ago when I bought mine. Now I regret I didnt go for pods... 2 years of riding Mobius X8 and this is worst knee bracers I've ever tried. Hard to find pants that fits good with them, why nobody talks about protection? There's a huge hole when you sitting in the corner that opens ur knee and I got a flying rock into my knee just into this hole from rider in front. There are more things I dont like that happened.

    Do either of these beat the ultra cell 3.0? (In your opinion of course) ready to pull the trigger on a set but I’m struggling with which.

    • @LameSauceAge
      @LameSauceAge 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm also wondering about the pod vs ultra cell. The pod hinge seems gimmicky to me and the knee cap mechanics are a bit to be desired, but the cuffs seem to be more flexible and thinner than ultra cells. Wish I had a local store that carried both.

    • @rmatvmc

    i have a pair of the mobius they are a great pair of braces dont get me wrong but i was wearing them and a pair of tech 10 boots and had a massive crash and i broke my leg in 5 spots and it was a compound fracture and since they cant undo all the knee brace straps cause if the one in the middle they had to cut it off so now i have to buy a new pair

    • @JoshStreetDesign

      kinda makes you wonder what is the point of a brace, lol. I completely tore everything inside my knee, had to get a full reconstruction, and I was wearing the Mobius. Although I didn't have them tight enough and they were over jeans..but still.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, JDC91. Man, sorry to hear about that. I haven't ridden in that brace so I can't give any feedback on it. The three braces that I've worn the most are the Carbon Cell 1, POD K8 2.0, and the Mobius and I didn't have any issues with those bothering my shins at all. I'd say the POD has the most padding at the bottom of the shin area. - Chase

    I hate that the Pods say "forged carbon" on them, it sounds fake.

    • @gpm5027
      @gpm5027 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Forged carbon describes the manufacturing process. the POD K8 frame is constructed from 20 layers of pre-preg carbon fiber and fiberglass that is cured in a heated mold under 20 tonnes of force. This ensures the ultimate ratio of fiber to epoxy so the frame is light and strong. It's the same process used in Formula one and other premium carbon applications.

      @@gpm5027 I could see why they didn't write all that in there and settled for "forged" then!
