This is one of the best bass lines ever made
You mean the finger killer
Antoine Gauthier distortion doesn’t equal guitar
I finally got it :)
my personal favorite is Scum by Napalm Death but this one is still really good
Antoine Gauthier it originally was a guitar riff. Matt told Chris to play it on bass and it became an iconic bassline.

@Chaitnya Singh No, Citizen Erased is easily their best one followed by Stockholm Syndrone.
Nah, as far as this album goes Stockholm Syndrome is the best.
@@cfoster6804 I mean taste is subjective but if we wanna rely on hard data... this video has over 90 million views. Stockholm Syndrome has like 17 million. Great choice, congratulations
The Track is about the struggle to overcome anxiety, fear and insecurity. The verses describe the feeling of being overwhelmed and caving in. The choruses talk about wanting to break out of the feeling and regain control. The guitar solo serves as a reminder of hope and faith, suggesting that one can break out of this feeling of hopelessness with the right attitude and mindset. The song is symbolic of the power of the will to overcome obstacles.

I think the biggest reason I love this band so much apart of Matt’s voice, the incredible songwriting, and the 2000’s rock, mysterious, darkish, at times 80’s, spacey vibe.. because of those things they’re just so different from any band I’ve ever heard. But they sound the most like Radiohead maybe Soundgarden. Plus still has authentic badass guitar drums bass etc. they’re just so awesome.

Bellamy is ultra talented , the whole band are exceptional musicians
He actually wrote the bassline, but hasn't by his own admission to pull it off, he definitely won the music genetics lottery, an established classical pianist, and apparently according to his biography is pretty handy with the brass section also

There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting Try Chris Squire Heart of the Sunrise, or Close to the Edge by Yesm
@@Nothing2Interesting It isnt always about "technical" proficiency but also how the line serves the song.
