For all the Howe fans that do not respect Rabin as a master of his craft & make disparaging comments about Rabin & his alleged lack of talent & musical virtuosity, I say listen to his work both playing a & composing on the the piano. Now add the fact that he is a very good vocalist, a superb guitar player, a gifted arranger & composer & last but not least a brilliant producer.
Singing & playing a song that they wrote simultaneously at the level Trevor does is very rare talent.

Trevor Rabin is a monster! What a talent, as a guitarist, but also, as a keyboardist, complete musician!

Huge Howe fan here, but I'm in total awe of Rabin. He pulled this off without the steel guitar and the 20 other guitars Howe used, PLUS the piano solo at the beginning. Wow. Just wow.

Love Rabin's era YES. He was a great addition to an already superb group of musicians.

Chris told Trevor to interpret the “classic” yes tunes his own way, and boy did he…this is one of the best live versions of and you and I on TH-cam

you can take or leave Trevor's guitar work. You can like/dislike Jon's phrasing from performance to performance. But you can't help but marvel at the power and the mastery of Alan's playing... show after show after show - awesome. RIP Alan - you are already missed.

Think the sadly under-rated Tony Kaye does a fine job with this...

I really love all YES music. For a moment I really was transported to that place where only music can take you....That place where AWAKEN and that soaring guitar outro of HEARTS could take me when I needed it to. I wish I could experience another YES WEST show. Thank you for this version I love it.

Like him or not, Trevor Rabin was probably the most accomplished and well-rounded musician Yes ever had. I know not everyone likes his style, but judging on technical ability and chops, he could play rings around just about anyone who's ever been in the band.

I think Wakeman would have something to say about that.

Trevor Rabin added a well needed change to the tired Yes sound and Tony Kayes more laid back style helped form a more interesting angle .

Led Zep was my No.1 band till I started listening more to Yes, especially with Trevor Rabin. Jon Anderson is the best at his craft.

@arweiss100 Yeah, I saw them on this tour, and when Trevor did this amazing piano piece, I thought "man, he's just taking the piss right out of poor Tony Kaye"

Enough of this Rabin vs. Howe bullshit. Yes's Music is majestic. We should just be glad that we got to experience it. I know I am.Been a lifelong fan. Got to see the 90125 and Union tours. Got to meet Chris Squire and Alan White. back stage

Again, another HUGE improvement over the "YesYears" version. YesWest finally hit their stride when playing the 70's stuff!

I saw this tour. It was the first time I saw Yes, though I follow then since I was a kid back in the 70's. I enjoyed this show and this rendition of "And You and I", still I am more interested in the 70's style. Something must be said, though: Both Rabin and Howe have a terrible fashion taste when it comes to shirts...... Great song. Maybe the Union Tour rendition the best ever.

Sad the band went "Hollywood" to fast after 90125. Personally I think most of their music was good in the 80s/early 90s. Only big generator was deceiving in my opinion, I appreciate Union and talk a lot. But the band was more interested in cash management and lost a bit of soul as a band (album produced in separate studios, external elements were taking the lead for business reason). Sadly everything collapsed with Talk which was a true effort to come back to the roots with a modern sound. And apart from keystudio, no other release after reached the level of the past

    Steve Howe likes this ...

Howe was very distinctive, Rabin is sure more all-inclusive and not so worst than Howe

Jon looks a bit Robert Plant with the mane

Rabin is a very talented musician but Howe brings a more textured and emotional quality to this song, likely because he was a major part of the composing of the music.

tfw your guitarist can play the piano better than your keyboardist

Do you know that Steve Howe is the only yes
Man that could of pulled that off. Trevor

He's not great at all! I mean, he is a good guitarist to play with Bon Jovi but he has nothing to deal with yes!

I love Steve Howe, but he’s an arrogant prick. He was the cause of a lot of tension on the Union tour. Trevor is every bit the guitarist Steve was and now Steve can’t play half as well as he used too and Trevor is still pretty damn good.
