After not being able to paddle during Covid lockdown, and having had some wrist issues and done some research, I decided to try and flatten my paddle feather after 20+ years of paddling at about 60 degrees. Having not paddled for quite a while, I went straight to 45 degrees and adapted very quickly. I then progressively flattened over about 15 months to 25 degrees. Much easier on the joints, but it does take a while to be comfortable in rough water and rapids (can't miss a stroke as you will go straight in and don't have time to think)
