Tell me why I watched this video. I have never had kids, never plan to have kids, never want kids, and yet I sat here and grinned throughout the entire video. I just love this channel!❤
Highly recommend the suitcase. So much easier than multiple bags! Maybe pack a small duffle bag for anything extra people bring you when visiting or things the hospital sends you home with.
Just FYI coming from a doctor working in maternity (in the UK), we do not routinely take the uterus out during C-section! Only sometimes to get better access. Also, it’s never completely “out” of you, we only exteriorise the top, but it’s still very much attached to your insides! Hope that makes sense 🤣 Love the packing cubes, seem very practical!!
What about getting the tubes tied? That’s what I’m planning on doing because of my heart condition and my age. This is baby number two and will be my last. I’m also in Canada and I remember only staying in the hospital for two nights and half a day.
@@KatrinaYeong4589 in my experience it very much depends on your body, and some surgeons will exteriorise and some won’t! It usually doesn’t really add anything in terms of complications/time of recovery. Hope everything goes well xx

I don’t plan on having children. However I’ve been watching you since the pandemic and feel like we’re friends in my head. So this is lovely to see we’re close to the new arrival xx
I really loved having a sound machine! Good for baby, and for us. Blocked out a lot of noise and helped us sleep better. 🤍 So excited for you and Stephen!
I agree. My first c-section was an emergency and the planned second c-section was so much more chill. It was in the evening and it was so great. I was able have all the tubes and everything removed early the next morning. It was great. I was in the hospital for like 4-5 days for my first c-section but my 2nd c-section I recovered great. I knew what I had to do. I made sure I was walking and knew what to expect. I always tell people not to worry about c-sections. If it saves you and the baby, it’s worth it. You will be fine.
Sierra I love your channel. Grace is so sweet, she is a beautiful little girl. You and Steven are the such good parents, and I am so happy for you and your growing beautiful family. I hope your next birth goes exactly how you have planned and I wish nothing but beautiful things for your family..
I love that new baby girl will be giving Grace a gift! My big sister gave me a stuffy when I was born, I'm 20 years old and it is still insanely special to me and is on my university bed. My gift to her was simply my new presence 😂
We brought a deck of cards and a couple of card games (uno, skipbo etc) to help keep us occupied as we waited. I would love a follow up video after baby girl is born to hear how the big bag went.
OUT OF THE BODY? My god women are incredible. Sierra, I’ve followed you for years and it such a blessing to see you prepare for your second child 🤍🤍. Your wit and positivity have impacted my kindness and confidence to myself and others. Wishing you a healthy and seamless hospital experience when then time comes.
I swear by silverettes for those early weeks of breastfeeding! I wore them in my nursing bra anytime baby wasn’t latched. It was my first baby so I don’t know what the experience would have been like without them, but I definitely think they helped the pain/soreness that comes with the beginning of breastfeeding!!
I loved these too, wish I had them right away! Later on I got the wearable haaka ladybugs and will definitely use them when my milk comes in for this baby (due mid May) because I leaked so much when my milk came in, I’d soak through even thick burp cloths in an hour or two. Will go back to using these once I’m not leaking so much.
Just had my second 6 weeks ago. Baby was a planned C-section. I packed everything I could possibly need and used absolutely none of it. My recovery was so smooth and baby was healthy and we were eager to get home to reunite with our first child. We were allowed to leave 36 hours from birth which was the evening of the day after my morning procedure. We were very happy to be home so quick but it made all the clothes and toiletries I packed totally unnecessary. Still I was glad to have had everything ready just in case.
I remember you saying Grace is a big fan of villains. Just wanted to tell you I saw Vanessa/ursulas from little mermaid at tj maxx recently! Not sure if that’s at all locations but thought it was so fun.
Definitely better than how me and my husband looked rolling up to the hospital with 1 duffle bag, a 12 pack of soda, and 15 Walmart bags full of things 😂
You make the world brighter. Thank you for all you do. You (and your family and your team) work so hard and all the love for eachother/your work is clear.

Just made my own hospital bag list as I watched! Love that I’ve followed your journey for sooo many years and now get to tag along (from afar) with pregnancy
You are literally the coolest, knowledgeable, kindest person on the internet. I love watching your videos! Even though I don’t have children quite yet, I am very intrigued with all your tips and tricks and will refer to this when the time comes :)
As someone who’s watched a lot of these videos I actually don’t think you’ve overpacked for your situation. You’ve said that if you go into labour then you’re going to labour if you meet certain levels when you go in to the hospital that you’ll try to labour if you feel like it. And if that doesn’t happen, you’ve had experience with a c-section and what you used. Also your packing 3-4 outfits for a 3-4 day stay, the only thing you’ve packed that’s probably ‘extra’ is the blanket and a pillow but like comfort wise- definitely worth it from everyone whose said ‘I wish I had something comfortable while I was there’ You’ve also just consolidated it into one big bag rather than a bag for the baby, a bag for you and a bag of extras. Plus when you leave at least Stephen will only have to take one bag to the car when you leave so it’s less trips!! And also those snacks are a FAB IDEA!!!!
Perfect timing! I’m pregnant with my 1st and most likely gonna need a C-section between May 17th and 24th due to placenta previa. Now I can just copy your packed bag.
I had my daughter during the pandemic (February 2021) and had a c section and was in the hospital less than 48 hours. I had the my breast friend nursing pillow too and LOVED it!
I have had two c sections and mine went like yours did with my first. Except my son was stuck in my birth canal when they took me back. The second was so much smoother. Hope and pray for a safe delivery and healthy baby girl!

I remember when you were pregnant with Grace so vividly. Sharing all your pregnancy journey during covid was honestly the highlight of my days to watch. I was in my last year of college in the middle of a pandemic and felt so alone- and you helped bring so much joy in that by sharing Grace with us. I’m still not sure if I want to be a mother, but seeing you made my mind wonder. All this to say- the world may not have felt as slow this go around, but we are rooting for you sierra. Sending you all so much love. ❤
Just had my second 6 weeks ago! I think you bring up a valid point that you’ll be staying for a while in the hospital and want everything with you. I packed hardly anything (mostly snacks lol) and hardly even used what I packed, but we were only there for about 28 hours. You do you! Good luck!
We just had our second c-section baby recently 🥰 you’ve definitely got all the necessities!! I also included compression socks and silverettes in my bag!
Good packing list! I watched your first one with Grace and I was pregnant and I ordered a fan bc of you and it helped me so much! I also got chills/shakes from the drugs and brought a fleece blanket and that was a life savor too. I was either freezing or hot AF. There was no middle lol
Congratulations! So excited for your family. I've had two scheduled C Sections, and I loved having a more bland cookie to snack on if I felt a little nauseous or while I was breastfeeding in the night. I live in Canada, so our recovery in the hospital is much shorter (I stayed for two nights with my first, and one with my second) but I went through a lot of the arrowroot "baby" cookies while I was there! Maybe consider adding a nausea-friendly snackeroo.
i wish i would have brought some of those mini toothbrushes you can buy that already have the fluoride on them. it would have been good if i needed to freshen up but didn’t want to/couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom.
😂 I went in with only my purse and my phone with my second. I was only 34 weeks and went to check if my water had broke. Turns out I got admitted for an induction lol my husband had to pack everything.
So excited I get to experience pregnancy again w/ Sierras videos!!! 5 year Subscriber & coincidentally we’re pregnant at the same time twice I’m only 7 weeks but I’m already thinking about the birth this second time around! 🙏🙏 from body positivity to learning lots about being a mom Thank you so much for being you & congratulations on Baby Girl
Dry shampoo was my favorite thing haha I was in the hospital for 6 days of attenpted inductions. Didnt have a hospital bag packed and lkved an hour from the hospital. I remember dry shampoo and my sleep mask to be my favorites!!
My most used items I brought last time: Chapstick Fan Extra long phone charger Earbuds Always boutique underwear That’s literally all I used. lol I wore the hospital gown the whole time. Used their pillows and blankets. For baby I used his blanket and one outfit. This time I’m bringing the same things but also my pjs and a nursing tank instead of a bra.
I’m due with my second in mid May. I will be packing my bag soon… I am totally bringing a large suitcase too. I wished the first time I had my pillow, and so am totally bringing it this time even though it’s big. The hospital pillows are not great. With that and an electric blanket and nursing pillow, I will need the large suitcase. I loved having the electric blanket for my first since I got really cold sometimes, but would also get hot, so I could turn it on and off as needed. My arms were so weak newly postpartum, so the proper nursing pillow was so needed. Also am bringing Velcro swaddles for baby. It was so annoying trying to swaddle the traditional way, and even the nurses couldn’t do it for it to last.
I am having my 3rd and last csection in ONE WEEK and lemme tell you! adult diapers are a game changer!! highly recommend over the hospitals underwear and for once you get home for those first few days ☺️
Lol I’m also having a scheduled c-section and watched some c-section videos to see how they do it and I was shocked that they took the whole uterus out of your body. I asked my surgeon about it and she said no… she’s not going to do this and that it’s more of an “American” method (I live in New Zealand). I’m really thankful that my surgeon isn’t going to pull my whole uterus out of me 🤦🏼♀️😂 I hope your c section went well and thank you for making this video.
Had my first with an emergency c-section. What’s so weird is I only stayed 2 nights and I had my son at 9:44pm. I’m hopping not to stay long again this time and I’m planning to have another C-section. Thanks for posting, I need to start a list!
My 3 children all hated the swaddle the others used. So we had to have 3 different brands. Just an idea to bring another brand just in case. Also… our hospital supplies swaddles while we are there? Does yours not?
Love love love!! We are basically the same gestation and I loved this! I’m also an overpacker because I’d rather have it and not need it than wish I had brought it 😅😅 also if I have a product I know I like I’m gonna bring it even if the hospital provides something like it 😅
I’m glad you told us that you still bleed even if you have a c section. I found that out after my sister-in-law gave birth to my niece. Something about that didn’t compute for me.
I had my baby yesterday via scheduled c section as well ❤ just FYI I also live in California so not sure if our hospital has same rules or not but they are still on somewhat covid restrictions and would not allow anyone under age 16 to visit :( I have a 4 year old also so she has to wait until we get home to finally meet her baby sister.
Everyone here that is getting an idea of what you need as a mom of 3 the blanket, pillow, & snacks are ESSENTIAL! Hospital food and bedding is awful and you will not regret taking it for even 1 second!
I learned that if you hold your pillow against you on the way home from the hospital it helps with the pain of the moving car. With my 1st the pain was excruciating on the way home. I felt every bump a million times worse but someone recommended the pillow after and i did it with my 2nd c-section and it wasnt as bad.
Things to add: Dry shampoo Hair ties/handbands Chap stick Heating pad Hakka A syringe Any meds or vitamins you take Baby nail file (newborn nails are crazy sharp but too thin to clip) Sound machine or white noise machine hospitals are SO loud, we had a small portable one Add in drinks to your snacks- I did the body amor ones and some coffees because I would get so thirsty in the middle of the night and early morning before the cafeteria was open.
I’ve never had a C-section but I had to stay 7 days after one of my births because my son was in the NICU. It was so nice having all the things I needed. I wish I had brought pillows & blankets. My husband did for him and he was sweet and left them once he went home to be with our older kiddos. I would of been miserable without them because they couldn’t bring me enough pillows and blankets my temperature was also all over the place postpartum
I’m 3 weeks pp with my first baby and I had an unplanned c-section and I was an outlier for staying 48 hours after (which was the max our hospital allows - I’m in Canada)!
For anyone else planning on a C section - whether they remove your uterus during the C section absolutely depends on the hospital and the doctor you deliver at - it's definitely not a guarantee! There is some research to show that removing the uterus to close up the incision can improve healing outcomes if the incision is difficult to access, but there are many other methods to achieve this (and I would argue the uterus removal is a bit of an old school one). It might be more common in the USA, but I'm not sure we use it at all here in New Zealand where I live.
On mesh undies in the hospital. Do you use / did you use last time any adult diapers? So many people I know loved them but when I had my first daughter being a plus sized girl the 2XL Depends were the biggest I could buy and too small for my hips. I felt like I was forced to wear underwear and pads because of a lack of size inclusivity. I'm curious if they have better sizes in the US. I am also pregnant with my second and exceptionally nervous about my second birth, likely a C section due to complications in my first vaginal birth. I am watching along with your journey to hopefully reassure myself
I definitely would pack similar to you if I was having a schedule c-section! I also had an emergency c-section when I had my daughter and the long hospital stay had me in their gown the whole time (6 days) it didn’t feel good but I was exhausted to ask anyone to bring me anything else. The bag may be big but you’re actually not bringing that many things!

I feel like everything made sense except the kindle. I can’t imagine having too much downtime if you have a scheduled c section and then baby will be here right after.
Sorry but I'm just so not over from the uterus out of your body thing. Need to Google it as well 😂😅 Not packing for the hospital at all but very happy to hear you talk about it 😊

I’ve never seen someone add an empty folder to their bag but that is so smart… definitely gonna remember that for some day
Great ideas! My next baby, I'm bringing a cosy blanket.
I am a notorious over packer but I usually use everything I pack and if I don’t I’m glad I have it
I am having my 3rd and last csection in ONE WEEK and lemme tell you! adult diapers are a game changer!! highly recommend over the hospitals underwear and for once you get home for those first few days ☺️
Lol I’m also having a scheduled c-section and watched some c-section videos to see how they do it and I was shocked that they took the whole uterus out of your body. I asked my surgeon about it and she said no… she’s not going to do this and that it’s more of an “American” method (I live in New Zealand). I’m really thankful that my surgeon isn’t going to pull my whole uterus out of me 🤦🏼♀️😂
I hope your c section went well and thank you for making this video.
Had my first with an emergency c-section. What’s so weird is I only stayed 2 nights and I had my son at 9:44pm. I’m hopping not to stay long again this time and I’m planning to have another C-section. Thanks for posting, I need to start a list!
Ask for Benadryl for the itching. I get that and my hands turn beat red, Benadryl helps instantly
My 3 children all hated the swaddle the others used. So we had to have 3 different brands. Just an idea to bring another brand just in case.
Also… our hospital supplies swaddles while we are there? Does yours not?
I'd suggest a warmer cardigan. It can get very colf.
I'm all for the suitcase, way easier to wheel 1 bag then to carry 3-4 smaller ones
ahh getting so close! So excited for you guys!! ❤
Everyone here that is getting an idea of what you need as a mom of 3 the blanket, pillow, & snacks are ESSENTIAL! Hospital food and bedding is awful and you will not regret taking it for even 1 second!
I’m not pregnant and my fiancé and I are leaning towards no kids, but I love watching your videos so here I am! 😂
I learned that if you hold your pillow against you on the way home from the hospital it helps with the pain of the moving car. With my 1st the pain was excruciating on the way home. I felt every bump a million times worse but someone recommended the pillow after and i did it with my 2nd c-section and it wasnt as bad.
Their itching is from the pain meds wearing off! I highly recommended a backscratcher post c-section!
Things to add:
Dry shampoo
Hair ties/handbands
Chap stick
Heating pad
Hakka
A syringe
Any meds or vitamins you take
Baby nail file (newborn nails are crazy sharp but too thin to clip)
Sound machine or white noise machine hospitals are SO loud, we had a small portable one
Add in drinks to your snacks- I did the body amor ones and some coffees because I would get so thirsty in the middle of the night and early morning before the cafeteria was open.
Fridamom c section underwear were life changing for me - 10/10 recommend
😅😅😅😅 that bag is fabulous 💜💜💜 after two c-sections, I only realised now that they take the uterus out. Wow, I had twins as well. Love all the snacks 💜
Two sisters is an ideal combo!!! (coming from a gal with one sister 😋) So excited for you and this fun new chapter. Sisters are the best!!!!!
You’re so pure I love you. I wish we were besties 😭😭😭
I definitely would pack similar to you if I was having a schedule c-section! I also had an emergency c-section when I had my daughter and the long hospital stay had me in their gown the whole time (6 days) it didn’t feel good but I was exhausted to ask anyone to bring me anything else. The bag may be big but you’re actually not bringing that many things!
ahhh!!! can’t believe it’s almost baby time!! my bestie is having her first baby girl in May & I’ll be in the delivery room with her🤍 is there anything you’d recommend I bring as a friend for my bestie (to make her more comfortable & at peace!!)🤍🤍🤍
A camera! Make all the cute photos of her! I wish i had my bestie with me during my second birth but she lives to far... your an amazing friend ☺️
@@charlottegilissen6236 aww thank you so much!! I definitely want to take as many pics as possible! Also thinking of maybe recording some and putting together like a “birth vlog” for her & her partner🤍
It’s so wild hearing you say things like “I’m being two sleepers for her” like that’s a real baby you’re about to have and meet so so soon!!
When they do a c-section, they give you something to reduce pain for the 48 hours following but it makes you very itchy. I had 3 c-sections.
I’m 25, I’m Canadian, no kids, not married, amature bodybuilder.. our lives could not be more different BUT I LOVE THESE VLOGS!
I feel like everything made sense except the kindle. I can’t imagine having too much downtime if you have a scheduled c section and then baby will be here right after.
Sorry but I'm just so not over from the uterus out of your body thing.
Need to Google it as well 😂😅
Not packing for the hospital at all but very happy to hear you talk about it 😊
Did you do Polaroids this time ?
I have 7 more weeks left and my 2nd 💙 will be here
Can’t wait to meet the new baby!!
