The Electric Ruan is rather interesting, it's basically a Normal Ruan w/ a Pickup added to it. I notice you're also using a Strap so the instrument can be played standing up. I do use a Strap on my Indian Sitar so I can play standing up, plus I can actually angle the instrument more upright so I can get it on camera more easily when recording.
I love how almost every western guitarist will say to move your fret hand minimally and yet this makes more sense as rather than fighting human anatomy you are using it to your benefit.

The strings I've used on my Zhongruan & Pipa (as well as Erhu, all of which are Acoustic-Electric) are made by D'addario. I like having the Wound A String on the Pipa because the windings soften the tone a little bit.
