If you have a controller that doesn't appear on their list it is very easy to assign whatever controller you have by selecting a function you need and adjusting that controller with the knob or button / slider you want to control that function. That function can be found in the program's preferences section. You can also customise the mixer and add additional sends to the mixer or take away sections you don't want to appear. Also the mixer and track views can be shrunk or expanded to fit your monitor screens. Like John I found the program very intuitive to use. Nice video.
Hi John. Thanks for this video. I just downloaded the trial version of Mixcraft and slowly learning it. I couldn't find the piano roll and I can't see where you clicked to get it. I guess I will be able to find it on a tutorial, but if you see my message....help! 😉🙏
Hi John, I have switched to mixcraft after following all your daw reviews but I am having difficulty using halion sonic in multi timbral use. It would be nice if you could do a tutorials on this in the future. Thanks Phil
Yes I definitely will do some tutorials. Your issue is a good example as I had to figure that out myself when I tried to use Xpand. I just put out one of the first MIxcraft how to do videos just now. th-cam.com/video/yesH4IEiFVw/w-d-xo.html
Hello John, Can Mixcraft open GM2 type 1 files (internet and commercial MIDI’s) and automatically set track instruments and channel numbers like all versions of Cakewalk? Most of Cakewalk alternative DAW’s don’t seem to be able to do this unless you make templates! Thank you for the good work... ;-)
Yes it opens! I tried it and Mixcraft 10.5 does open GM MIDI files with the correct channels and instruments! Reaper and Studio One will open the files but you'll need to define the instruments and channel for each track or make templates...
Absolutely it does. The file opens and the project is populated with all the tracks and BETTER than Cakewalk each track is it's own instrument track. This makes it way easier to then upgrade the instruments. With Mixcraft you can choose a default GM player including the Acoustica"s. So for me the file sounds almost identical if not better than the TTS-1. This was why on first try I bought it outright. I think only Cubase will also play GM after it opens, but it's about 6 steps just to get it to open. Mixcraft you simply OPEN the file from the start screen.
@@Cactus_Music_BC OK, I'm going to give Mixcraft 10.5 Recording Studio at $49.00 a try! I do a lot of GM MIDI file edits for backing tracks. Thanks John...Best regards, Orvil Ivie

Thanks, Now if I can only talk the developer into introducing a smart tool!

You make a convincing case John, Thanks!
Very welcome
I have used Mixcraft for years and I have tried other DAWS and I always seem to turn back to MixCraft for me

Why meters move so different compare to any other daw...pro tools or any other one
Funny, not something I noticed. Graphic card issues?
