Thanks for releasing that tank. Hell of a catch! Glad to see you had your fun, and that tank can live on to hopefully create more strippers for us all to enjoy catching in the future! Kudus sir!
Well done sir. The way you held the bass horizontally instead of vertically as I've seen so many times and the way you kept it alive for the video and the release. Nice catch by an exceptional sportsman. Hope you catch many more.
Last year I caught my PB. It was a 23 inch LM Bass. I have been fishing the lake my Cabin is on in Wisconsin for 18 years. I caught it on a Red & White Mini Tube Jig on a Lite Trout Rod fishing for Crappie. I never thought for one second of keeping it. I got my photos and released it unharmed. You will never regret letting that beautiful fish go back home.
Thank you sir for letting that majestic fish live out its days like it was meant to. I know lots of people think fish are there for us to catch and eat but god has a purpose for each and every animal on this planet. A true gentleman 100% kind act.
The New Mexico fishing record for a Striped Bass is 54 pounds and 8 ounces, held by Jim Secor at Elephant Butte in 1992. After Joe caught the fish, the Ford family headed back to the marina. "We did release it which is going to cause many readers to cringe," Bob said.Jun 9, 2015
I docked my boat two slips down from the fisherman (Greg Myerson) who holds the world record striper (81.88 lbs). Caught back in 2011 in Westbrook, CT.
So.. to all the people talking about.. thanks for the release. More spawners in the future. Just realize this is a landlocked stiper they don't reproduce but nice fish anyway!
@@darrionwts6109you're thinking of wipers. That's a straight striper, granted they are not native in fresh water. I imagine they could still potentially have spawning success in some numbers even if they're not native to the body of water. Also fish hybridize in the wild as well. Our whole world is unnaturally manufactured unfortunately, just gotta accept some things.
This is actually correct but partially incorrect at the same time. They are known to spawn in certain lakes and rivers, even landlocked. Lake Texoma, Kerr Reservoir, and the Coosa River all have really high spawn rates every year. They have started to adapt to be able to spawn easier, but in most areas the spawn rate is still extremely low
Exactly! They don’t reproduce in fresh water at all! Even the ones that fish and wildlife catch for reproduction purposes don’t actually reproduce like you think they do! They have to use stripers and white bass to have any success! My brother in law works for the fish and wildlife in Louisiana and there are no full blooded stripers in the state, they are all hybrids!
I was just about to say what everybody else has been saying thank you for leasing such a beautiful fish. his genetics are definitely strong so they will definitely benefit future generations are striped bass
I seen a study from game and wildlife/ game and fish and the positive impacts it makes removing large/ trophy sized fish from the habitat. It allows other fish to grow larger and at a faster rate. They started to see it in hatcheries and then did the same studies on public land and waters as well. The study went on over a couple decades…. Might be a good watch for anyone interested
Yeah it can also lead to an imbalance where you end up with a lake full of fish at nearly the same size that can’t eat eachother leading a shortage of forage and eventually population collapse or explosions in the population of larger predatory species like the catfish family…
Ummmm, the Tennessee River is one of the most polluted rivers in the United States. I’d think twice before eating any fish out of those waters (ie. the Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, or Missouri). Let the fish live. Good job, Bruh! And, you’ve got footage to back up the story!
Glad you gave him time to recoup and put him back. Large stripers often expend so much energy fighting when they're caught that they'll die after you release them. If you catch a striper and it turns into a prolonged fight, it's best for the fish to give it brief rests while you fight him. These fish aren't as durable as a lot of your other large freshwater fish.
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Me and lot of my scuba diving buddies was diving at Summersville Lake in wv. Then two years past, I was in the chiropractor office, people was talking about that same bass. The dive owners talked about the same same bass for years, and they may still talk about it, that striper could be the world record

The eye ball seems to reflect and draw attention. I’ve caught many many 25 to 35 lb fish on cut trout and for some reason they hit the heads 90% more often than the tails. I think it’s the eye ball.
