Tells you at 09.46 that the ngs file is for myeditor (basically a graphic editing file) and that when you 'save as' you choose a .pes file (For Brother) or whatever file your machine uses. Hope that helps.
When you get an embroidery file online you choose your machine and file type (for me janome, .jef) but you should receive 2 files, and the one is a ngs file (you'll see it if you right click and go to properties) and this is the file you can edit

Awesome tutorial. You covered all the basics in short to the point video. How do you get the light background design area? I opened .pes file not .ngs and design area is black.
I am having an issue with the saving portion. when I go to save as and change the format to HUS, it only saves as a NGS and not the sewing file HUS. is this because its not a paid program?

I am wondering if there is some type of function in My Editor that holds the design in place so that when I get to my machine, I'm unable to adjust the positioning at all? I have run into this problem, but have been unable to figure out why I wouldn't be able to move the file up/down/left/right on the machine. (The design is most definitely small enough to be able to do this.) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Wondering if MyEditor is capable of splitting an embroidery pattern ... for multi position hoop?? Love this program and that it’s free. But now needing a software to split a pattern and I really hope I just haven’t figured out how to do it, and that it is indeed possible?!?

I was able to figure out changing background color for designs...when in color manager, click on Background then choose the color then Set Color

so how do i change a png or jpg file to ngs? i want to digitize my artwork but none of my files are ngs and won’t open in my editor.
You have to have a digitizing program to do this. My Editor can only edit already digitized files, not create them.
