Chhath Puja is widely celebrated all over Nepal as well as in India. Dedicated to Surya (Sun) God and his consort Usha (referred to as Chhathi Maiya), this great festival is all about expressing gratitude to them.
On this auspicious occasion, people pay reverence to the supreme source of power, light and energy: Sun. Various rituals are performed over a span of four days and people observe a strict fast.
From the banks of Mechi River Bhadrapur, Chhath Puja celebrations are on in full swing across the country.
