    I think Honda is the only company that manufactures cars, boat engines, motorcycles, planes,robots, and bunch of other small engines such as yard work equipment. Honda leads the innovation, others only follow.

      They really make some nice engines. I bought a Toyota for the overall package and reliability, non turbo non cvt, but the Honda it replaced most definitely had a smoother, better sounding, and daily useable power curve.

      @Tom Platz True. All teams have about about 10 to 14 jobs we have to do, So sometimes we will not see that job two to three times a week. We have 4 quarters a day at 2 hours quarters. At Honda they rank the jobs A = hard job B= mediocre job C= easy. It's the A's rank jobs that get you. I had a torn rotator cuff. Both knees carpal tunnel in both hands. And a very bad back. I would say about 90 percent of my team has had some kind of surgery for something work related.

      Working at the indiana plant, all my crv processes are pretty easy. Its when you get into the civics or insights that it can get hard. Wrestling cable harnesses is a bear... fortunately crvs are at least 85 percent of our production. But for sure, my thumbs, wrists, and finger muscles are perpetually damaged. The work is a constant race against the clock, and God forbid something goes wrong. Its not the end of the world to need help but when you're expected to be self sufficient, there's always the regret at mistakes or errors. Not the easiest work for the money I've ever experienced, but it is interesting work so far.

    • @GhostShip94
      @GhostShip94 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I work at the indiana plant. You do one of several processes per quarter shift. So 2 hours of doing the same thing over and over at a time. Some of which are really rather physically taxing. Not so bad for 5, 10, or even 20 cars. But 45 in and your muscles might just start failing you. In some areas you have to do a lot of precise and forceful pushing with your thumbs. It will debilitate them. Its no walk in the park. But your body will adapt over time. And on top of that you have really short spans of time to do your process per car. Only about 45 seconds. And they cram as much as they can into a single process, making it a difficult prospect that requires some degree of supervised experience and assistance before you can do it alone. Every single process I've learned has taken time to get familiar and build efficiency to make it.

      @@Patrick94GSR I believe it’s that. But I believe it’s a lot more. There were a lot of smart people there who could’ve been doctors, lawyers, engineers. They ended up at Honda doing something that they know they don’t want to do but due to some of them making bad choices like having kids at young ages they had to do what they had to do to raise them. They knew they were stuck because of the money and very few were actually going back to school because they didn’t have the time I only know of one who was doing it and he was quitting because they wouldn’t work around his schedule from what I recall (they don’t work around schedules there they can’t do that). Also certain people unless you’re bowing down to them they don’t treat you very well, mainly temps. The full time didn’t like that it was mandatory they start out doing second shift 5pm to 1:30am. Everyone was an alcohol. I never saw a dui license plate until I started there.

    Thanks Richard for your understanding. I called Honda Corporate here in Torrance and they told me there was nothing they could do for me.
    So I am asking you if you claim that the Honda odyssey engine was designed by the engineer in Japan, did anyone talk to the engineer in Japan to find why the 2021 iVTEC engine with VCM is still using the same engine with the same engineering flaws as the engines that was installed in the 2005-2016 models? Again, I repeat don't buy any Honda which his still using the iVTEC engine with VCM technology. This technology has engineering flaws and should not be placed into the market place to fleece the consumer. Richard you should talk to the mechanics on line and get their feed back. They will shed some light on the engineering flaws with the Honda engine.

    Now i know why the quality of Honda vehicles is going down hill. They on made in the USA.. IF Honda vehicles were engineered and made in Japan, Honda vehicles would be more reliable. For example, the Honda odyssey uses the iVTEC engine with VCM . This engine has a notorious history of burning oil prematurely. IF you dont believe me, check out Honda Bulletin 13-080. Honda lost a law suit because of this VCM technology. Even in 2021, Honda is still using the same engine.. Buyer beware..........My odyssey only has 122K mile.. Spark plugs in cylinders 1 ;2 ;3 are all oil fouled and burning oil.
