Harbor Freight Central Pneumatic 21gal 125psi air compressor FIXED! Model 61454.

Part 2, fixed!
My Harbor Freight Air Compressor has been acting up for awhile. I finally dug in and am trying to get it fixed. Let me know if you have any ideas in the comments, and thanks for watching!

Hung a new cold start valve in mine finally and found mine was doing exactly the same thing. Truth is 3 months in mine has never been right.

this model is picky
Must be plugged into wall outlet
Ext cords and cold weather causes it to trip and not start up.
I moved mine to heated basement and it never trips the Breaker anymore :D

I connected it to a new predator 5000 kept shutting off the generator and tripping the breaker although had plenty of power to turn it on. Takes some playing with it to get it running. Definitely picky with its power source.

Had a company one just like this.
1) Plug source close to outlet.
2)Reed valves are of weak material & fail.
3)Our(my)fix was drain oil and put trans fluid in it.
Operated our's maybe 20-30 hours.
Then sight glass broke/ then replaced it.
My opinion ----------I believe the clearances are to tight.

I have hold the brass button slightly down to get my to turn over…. Maybe it was built backward…. Will try the pressure switch

Wouldnt the vibration cause the breaker to eventually fail?

I had to replace my electric pressure regulator switch and it'll pump up fine but when it get down to 90 psi the motor tries to cut back in but it'll trip the breaker everytime. I can let all but 15 psi in the tank and turn it back on and the motor will start up but it won't hit the high speed that it does and it'll trip that way also. Is the motor wore completely out or is it the coil?

Replace the circuit breaker. Mine did the same thing.
