- I've got this Radio from a scrapyard to repair for a customer. The Owner of the scrapyard told me, these radios always fails with ths same symptoms. I hope this video can help you to fix your radio as well.

Thank you for this video. I repaired my radio as well by soldering these power transistors. Remember to solder them from both sides, as the through holes can be damaged from vibration. My radio had almost none tin on the component side of Printed Circuit Board, so it was possible that the through holes of PCB were damaged and current couldn' flow on the other side if I soldered only the bottom side of Transistor legs. By soldering from both sides I ensured that a damaged through hole wouldn't matter as the transistor leg is taking care of moving current from side to side.

My radio had the same issue since three month ago.
(Corolla verso 2006- Spain ) I will weld transistor No 1 in the left, this is the faulty one and it fixed the problem.

Had almost same symptoms, just the display was turning off as well when failing. it was sensitive to vibrations, temperature and length of being turned on. Like a year ago I took it of and reslodered all the connectors and few holes, but it just lasted like 1 month (have not fixed anything obviously)
Based on your video, I resoldered again, with focus on transistors, which made sense as it was sensitive in same area. However, without success again.
But as you showed me there is service manual available and I really don't like to lose against IT or electronics problems, I spent some more time on it and traced the problem down to IC704, pin9. After resoldering resistors R797, R799 and R796 it is working like charm :)

My radio had the same issue.
(Corolla verso 2006- Sweden ) I resolderd
all 4 transistors just to be sure and it fixed the problem. Transistor No 1 to the left was the faulty one but the other 3 were bad as well. Greetings from Sweden.

Mine is Corolla 2002, NOT Verso, but the problem is exactly the same. Audio system model number is W58802. Unfortunately those four transistors connected to a heat sink do not exist on this model. I could barely detected 3 transistors located here and there. Applying some pressure on them had no effect. So it is a dead end for me! Thanks for the video anyway.

Hi, get step by step instructions, I managed to fix my 2006 Corolla radio.
I have a 2014 Corolla touchscreen radio with Bluetooth and it’s constantly rebooting even after resetting the radio it’s stuck in an endless reboot. Any suggestions on how to fix this??
I have the 2003/2004 model car. Not completely the same radio, the back light does not flicker but the sound was intermittent for a while then completely left. The volume does not display when i adjust it, but I don't know if that is normal.
I opened and solder heated the 707 contact points just to get the solder re-seated but no sound still.

Hi was going to take a look at my car radio cd player, it won't turn on, 12v to the back of the unit, ground good and ignition good. What do I need to watch out for as for as this warning is concerned "Hazardous electromagnetic radiation when interlock defeated"? when I open the unit. Also any ideas on the likely faulty part. Thanks in advance.
Nice tutorial! Since you have the schematic, would you be able to give a hint on if there is a stereo path on the pcb to the amplifier section? I am planning to "enter" that path, cutting it, and installing a bluetooth module which passes through audio when not connected. Or if you know where the schematic can be found? Нихера она тут не стандартная, там беда с нулевыми резисторами в цепях этих транзисторов стабилизатора, такое чувство, что их туда поставили спецом, для бужущих проблем. Одно не понятно зачем такая лаборатория, что бы решить эту детскую болезнь.

You can not see the problem. You have to resolder it. If the problem still there, i can give you the service-manual

@@DPProduction Check your e-mail. Maybe you have a bad IC701, check for the +5V output there and other voltages. Good luck!
Ich habe das selbe Problem. Was genau wurde jetzt gemacht. Einfach einen Lötpunkt drauf oder abgemacht und neu draufgelötet?
Von beiden Seiten her gelötet. Das Problem war ja das gebrochene VIA

Dear, I guess I was cheering too loud. The failure came back. This radio is really annoying :-) Maybe also the wire in the board is broke. Don't now you if I want to open it again :-)
Hi, I re-opend afsin and soldeted it better, aprox 1 week aftwr this post. I slso soldeted one of the tiny sms resistors directly in ftont of it. Si ce then it eorks perfectly. Best regards to Switzerland
There is another problem with this radio model. Need to replace R717, R716, R705, R704
