I've got to learn this song for rehearsal 4th October with a 2nd band I'm doing. Function band vibe etc. This video is massively helpful thanks mate. 🎸
@@Monkeypole Ah yea this was a year ago mate lol. Didn't bother with this song in the end anyways. It's boring lol. Not long after posting this comment I jogged the function band on as I prefer being myself and don't copy covers no more..
Great breakdown of an amazing song! I still get the feels too like I did when I was a kid in high school listening to this jam!🥰 Awesome man!🤗 Thankyou!😄👍🏽
Captured effortlessly That's the way it was Happened so naturally I did not know it was love The next thing I felt was you Holding me close What was I gonna do? I let myself go And now we're flyin' through the stars I hope this night will last forever I've been waitin' for you It's been so long I knew just what I would do When I heard your song Filled my heart with your bliss Gave me freedom You knew I could not resist I needed someone
If you do play the bottom notes of the chords the 2nd chord will be a B Maj7 Band I played in had no keys so I had to hold it down on rhythm guitar, while our lead guitarist played the fills and power chords, so for those interested in just playing chords: I play E flat m7 / B Maj7 / E flat m7 / B Maj7 B flat m7 / B Maj7 / D dim / E flat m7 Chorus E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B flat m7 E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B Maj7 / B flat m7 If playing straight rhythm without imitating the keys I'll play a G flat Maj behind the E flat m7 following the bass pattern: E flat-G flat-A flat-B flat / E flat-G flat-A flat-B-B flat Vamp E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B flat m7
YES! That's an excellent breakdown! During the vamp section, I'm hearing a Db rather than a Bbm7 but the only difference is the root note. Apart from that, they are the same and will both work. Gret stuff. Thanks for sharing!
@@ProFunctionist You've done a great breakdown yourself and I just threw in the full chords, also I like the fact that you're teaching the song, like myself in it's original key I always try to encourage beginning guitarists to learn songs in standard tuning in their original key and not to use a capo or altered tuning unless the song was recorded that way, due to when they get with a band, they'll clash and have to learn the song all over again
Best tutorial of this masterpiece.
Nice work. Just learned how to play one of my all time favorite songs. Ignited core memories from the 80s. Thank you for posting this.

Captured effortlessly

Happened so naturally

The next thing I felt was you
Holding me close
What was I gonna do?
I let myself go
And now we're flyin' through the stars

I've been waitin' for you
It's been so long
I knew just what I would do
When I heard your song
Filled my heart with your bliss
Gave me freedom
You knew I could not resist
I needed someone
Thanks for the lyrics!
I meant thank you for this- Thank You! One of my Favourite songs of all time!!

GREAT JOB BRO. THANKS👍👍👍👍

Band I played in had no keys so I had to hold it down on rhythm guitar, while our lead guitarist played the fills and power chords, so for those interested in just playing chords:
I play E flat m7 / B Maj7 / E flat m7 / B Maj7
B flat m7 / B Maj7 / D dim / E flat m7
Chorus
E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B flat m7
E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B Maj7 / B flat m7
If playing straight rhythm without imitating the keys
I'll play a G flat Maj behind the E flat m7 following the bass pattern: E flat-G flat-A flat-B flat / E flat-G flat-A flat-B-B flat
Vamp
E flat m7 / A flat m7 / B flat m7
