I'm in love with the Cabomba and Nymphaea tanks

I have that very same Nymphaea Gardneriana 'Santarem' also from Kasselmann, it's an amazing plant that gets a myriad of colors as it carpets out from lime green, to yellows and oranges. Really fantastic plant! Greater Seattle Aquarium Society was among the very first in the US to have the plant when Christel visited us a while back - we also got another very cool lily, Nymphaea Minuta, which will flower and bloom under water

Absolutely... I have second hand everything..I resealed tanks use sand and gravel from local river basically just my plants and fish cost me good amount of money but over time thru propagation ive filled up everything with plants!! You can do it at a fair price aquariums don't have to be expensive just be creative and always keep a eye for deals and be patient over time you can get quite a large collection for very little money and eventually if you're breeding and propagating you can actually make back money you spent

Great video thanks for sharing your fish room Tai, you have some beautiful plants, it kind of reminds me of my fish room, most of my tanks are holding tanks for breeding and growing out stuff for videos, but as you said each time you build a new one it is hard to leave the room 🙂🌾🐠

What a great plant room with some cool fish. If I heard right at the beginning. The room was started because of the trimmings from the main tank in the house. That is how I started to expand the number of my tanks. I hate throwing away trimmings and no real good way to giving/selling them. I hate posting online because I do not like waiting around for people to show up. Thanks for the video. I enjoy seeing other people’s fish rooms.

@@biotopia5319 no problem at all. I actually did a quick video about it, not that it requires much explanation. Basically, I had some cement waterproofer lying around, experimented with adding to paint, and it worked a treat! 👍 Obvs a massive hassle moving the tanks around tho. Fishroom looks great btw. 👌

@@AquariumShed sounds like a really good idea! I may have to wait until I reform and empty the tanks to employ it but I will! Thank you very much :D

Great video! Another level of aquascaping where the aquascaper tries to simulate the natural habitat of a specific assemblage of fish as plants. I have always been intrigued by this type or the black water aquarium. The closest I have gotten to the Amazon River is my African cichlid tank lol! Great pictures George! Even the pictures in your book which are AMAZING! Thanks for the video!

Beautiful! Tai you are always so informative, love that you go old-school, real blast from the past.
Espei Rasbora are a lovely choice, I’d consider a nice large group of Boraras brigittae, once settled the colours on them would compliment the planting and their size would not overwhelm the tank, insanely beautiful fish.

Sometimes the tanks we just have as ‘holding tanks’ end up looking just as beautiful! I wonder if it’s just because we shove anything in there in no order and it just finds it’s own way! 💚

Fascinating. Loved the lily tank - single species tanks can work really well. Though if you go on holiday lilies can literally take over.
Use of red weighted lighting spectrum on the largely stem plant tank, very interesting, given more recent emphasis on higher end spectrum lighting. Traditional fluorescents are a cheap as chips in domestic warm white and in my experience worked really well, though I have transitioned to LEDs with no noticeable plant growth benefits.
Did I spot a bottle of TNC, a lean dose regime for macro nutrients?
Low tech tank - lighting again interesting, crypts take time without CO2, pluses and minuses to no CO2 but even with crypts, a little injected CO2 can help reduce problems in my experience.
Very interesting, thanks to both of you.
