I think this song should be in an anime scene where the MC returns somehow corrupted but still fighting on the side of good. Like the song represents the mindset where one has decided to take everything the rest of the world thinks is so horribly wrong with them and completely weaponize it against their enemies. Yet towards and outsider it is also kind of like the person saying 'don't be like me, all messed inside. please, try to be better, but do it for yourself'. I can definitely see it playing during the point in a fight sequence where someone has internally made the decision that 'if I'm going down they're coming with me'.

Citizen Soldier is my second favorite band & their ICU album would be my pick. It was the first album I heard by them, got me into them & my favorite! Since you thought the song had Shine down vibes, maybe they wanted to have something like their sound for this song. 😂😂 Citizen Soldier along with other bands Motionless In White, Disturbed & Breaking Benjamin are good at making choruses, lyrics & other things. That why I love rock and heavy metal music.
You got the Shinedown vibe SPOT ON! It especially makes me think of their albums Threat To Survival and ATTENTION ATTENTION, it'd fit right in with songs like Cut The Cord and DEVIL! (and Dead Don't Die lmao, I made the comment before the video was over 😂)
I think this short part at the end fits in perfect into the rest of that perfectly ironic song. For me it sounds like something a narcist would say if he was honest. Or able to selfreflect.

This was the song I was most hyped for on the album. I loved the vocal inflections in the verses, the strings in the chorus, and the drums in the bridge. Both verses had references to the bible, Church, Bible, Judas, so the My brothers and sisters line i think works very well, and honestly, I was hoping for more spoken/preachy bit there, and the tone he takes is very old testament preaching sounding. At least it wasn't like how they did it in Face to Face, that one to me just seems WAY out of place.
I know this is a minor criticism that many probably won’t care about, but to the part with “brothers and sisters” does exclude gender-nonconforming people who goes by “siblings” (like me)
