    We need to figure out a way to get you some more views/subs. These videos are too good to have this small an audience.

    More rhythmic snappy poppyness than you can shake a stick at! Sounds amazing Jay!

    Nice demo, Jay! Gives me a much better grasp on how and when to use compression. Great pedal!

    As usual, your demos and reviews are my favorite. Great Production, well thought out and enthusiastic. I bought a pro compressor based on this review and couldn't be happier. Keep up the excellent work, I look forward to whatever you review. Thanks Jay

    To answer your question at the end of the third Keeley video, I already have the Super Phat Mod on my board, but your demo of the Compressor Pro made me think about swapping out my Strymon OB1.

    It looked like "Tone Juan" was in Auto mode, so the attack setting was ignored. FYI. Great sound, great compressor. I built a similar model (also uses a THAT chip) from a kit. It's my #1 compressor.

      Fantastic eye!!!! I actually filmed the close ups on a separate take and it looks like I had it switched to "AUTO"... Argh.... Oh well, what you hear on the actual performance should be right though. Thanks so much for writing!

    Loving the finger pickin' intro! Have you ever considered doing a video on Fractal Audio's stuff? I'd love to hear your opinion on it (and hear your playing on it!).

      Really impressive gear. I need to get my hands on an AX8 to make that happen :)

      JayLeonardJ Jay I wish u could try the atomic amPliFire 12. Add in the Singtall presets also along with "the amp factory" presets that come with it and I'd love to see u play one. I have one. It's great but still love my amps and pedals. But I want to see what u can do with it. It's so easy to use. No engineer degree needed.

    Aawweeesome funk playing!!!
    I have spent an hour or so to try and figure out your amazing finger-slap-thump-funky-playing but I just don't get the same groove that I can fool around with. I am an old shredder that started to really appreciate the groove and the harmonies over the last years and boy, it takes some practice, especially for the right hand.
    Can you please, please, please make an instructional for this beautiful funky thingie. You and Asato rocks... or Funks out I mean!!!
    /Markus

    Could you do a breakdown of the strumming pattern on the second setting?

      Ohh... That might be a great vid in the future! Awesome idea.

    I want to get into compressors and have been after Keely's Compressor Pro for a long time. I like this pedal but it's already a few years old...
    Do you recommend it over the Empress Compressor MKII? or maybe the Cali 76 CD?
    I'm hesitating more between the Keeley and the Empress.
    Help!!

    If you could only own one compressor would this be the one?

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooh, that is a tough question. I like different types of compression boxes for different applications. That being said, The Compressor Pro definitely my most used compressor: especially at the end of my chain as a soft limiter :)

    what is the major improvement over my 2 knob Keeley Compressor?

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are quite different. The 2-knob is an OTA style compressor and the Pro is a VCA type. Broken down, there is a little more creamy-ness and colour with the 2-Knob, where the Pro is incredibly transparent and detailed. I would compare the 2 knob closer to the DynaComp and Ross sound and the Pro with a studio style Comp/Limiter.

      @RobertKeeleyTV 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jay stated it perfectly They are two very different animals. The 2 knob has an expander/sustainer and adds color and possibly some noise as you increase sustain. The VCA style Comp Pro is a compressor limiter, and doesn't have the noise and remains super transparent and accurate. Very much studio grade. But, doesn't have the expander.
