- Best viewed in 60 fps. I'm player 1 and Mark is player 2. The intro is at the end of the video. 41:29 The life count was raised to 5 and the credits were set to 9. I had a problem with this game stuttering at times and while I was able to mostly edit it out of the video, the sound is sometimes slightly off.

It's a tragedy that games like this are permanently stuck on the PS2: Time crisis 2 & 3, crisis zone, ninja assault and this are very fun.
im really hoping they'll make THOTD 3 backwards compact for the xbox one, its such a good game, and the fact that it has the THOTD 2 in it makes it better

It is'n. Those games appear in the right moment: best console of their generation in sales, using the guncon2 (best controller). So if someone want to try those games, find a ps2 and the right TV. Easy.

I was a little kid playing this game with my PS2 light gun. So much nostalgia watching this 23 years later.
I remember back then.. i was so small and scared to play this game until one day I brought up the courage to finish it. Damn man it brings back so much nostalgia nkw. Thanks man for uploadkng his
yep me too when i was a kid im even scared of the first vampire appearance design at stage 1, im even can't shoot that first enemy properly because i was so scared. and now im even impressed with the character artist that being able to design the creature that looks so intimidated
Man. When I was in 3rd grade in elementary school, I remember back in 2005, one of my neighbors invited my family to have a throwback party and he was nice enough to have one. And he had brought Vampire Night and told me it's like the House of the Dead, this was my first time hearing this game and it blew my mind. The story, the gameplay and everything was great. I just wanted to say thank you for my neighbor for buying this game back in my elementary school days. Thank you Daniel.

I took my ps2 to fix and since then I've lost my Vampire night PS2 disc lol.

omg glad i wasn't reach that boss when i was a kid or i cannot sleep within 1 week, imagining if that boss appear from my bathroom and walk into myself. im even scared on the first appearance enemy vampire at stage 1 and i cannot shoot it properly because i was too scared...and now im kinda like that boss...
This is the closest thing we can get to ever playing Castlevania the Arcade game , who knows maybe one day it will get ported to PC like Silent Hill Arcade

@@omegarugal9283 You guys are right. This game is very "peculiar" to me. It's as if they used THOTD 3 game engine but with THOTD 2 graphics. It's as if this game came up while they were transitioning from one engine/technology to another. :)

This is seriously one of the coolest rail shooters I've ever seen. When people say "Like House of the Dead but.." in the best possible way. I cannot stop looking at the chapter drawings. As someone who considers this a favorite genre I am bewildered that I didn't find it until now.
Why have I never played this? Vampire House of the Dead, complete with the same hilariously dreadful voicework I've come to love? I shoulda been all over this.

played through it once with my son :) great fun. we could barely finish it with our last credit and life ... generous game :))
I’m here because I have a pic I took of my cousin Sylvester from way back in the day where he is sitting in the couch watching my other cousin playing this Game, My Cousin Sylvester died Last week he was 47. Just needed to watch this one more time to take me back in time when we would spend hours shooting at the TV.
I've often wondered the circumstances that led to a Sega designed light gun game being released by their fiercest rival in the genre Namco. Anyway, it's a great game and another great playthrough.
at this time sony isn't a rival anymore :) so sega bite the bullet.... thanks god!!!
These were the death days of Sega as a console and cabinet maker. They were basically at the mercy of Namco at this time.
I will never forget how as a kid, I saw a manga called "vampire knight" and my dumbass literally thought it was the manga to this fucking game. But bless this game. I miss it.

One of the underrated arcade games I played. This deserves a part 2 minus the atrocious voice acting.
But you can't have a shooter game without the atrocious voice acting. It just don't feel right 😂

I just finished watching Ninja Assault. I miss all these old arcade light gun games. WOW Entertainment made this game which is the same developer that made the House of the Dead. Strange that Namco published this game when WOW was an internal studio of Sega
This game was more of a collaborative project between two studios, as you can see the production value of this game are much higher than even Namco's own Time Crisis 2 or 3.
If there was a AAA budget light gun this game was one of the few.
I remember playing this game. Playing with Guncom is so much fun.

This gives me flashbacks to childhood vaccations in france and spain. That scene in the room at 9:26 has burned into my memory. I didnt play that one though, just stood next to the older kids/teens playing it.

Does anyone feel about the similarity of the bosses in the RE8 'Village' to this game? I feel that the five bosses here are very similar starting from the knights - Heisenberg [7:03], bats - Lady Dimitrescu [15:03], puppeteer - Beneviento [23:23], merman / mermaids - Moreau [29:55], to 4-winged vampires - Mother Miranda [35:46].

I think the Vampires dies after battle if it's during the day time they fought and got beaten. That's why dark mind didn't die as a vampire and turned human perhap because it was nightime.
Both of vampire hunters are probably part vampire and part human that why they disappear in tune of the morning daylight because they were exhausted in the end. Perhaps but in the beginning of daylight as well.
The stiff, phoning it in performances of the voices in these old light gun games that really takes me back.
Its basically the house of the dead but instead of zombies you fight vampires and monsters

This game was so damn addicting to play on the PS2. I loved the special mode, doing the missions was such a unique feature that I have never seen before in a light gun game. I wish Time Crisis had additional modes and unlockables like this game did.
If you had an old school 50in glass tv back in the day, these gun con games were just like the arcade.
Me and my friend would take turns playing with the orange gun this game came with. It was a good life...

Love you video! But how did you get your game to run so well on pc? Using what kind of emulator? Asking because I am a fan of rail shooter game and wish to able to play them on pc
This was played on PCSX2 with the nuvee plugin, which lets you use a mouse for aiming. That said, this is one game that always seems to stutter once in a while for me, unlike other games I've played on PCSX2. I would still say the game is playable, though.

Loved the video. I have the game running on PCSX2 with my Aimtrak, but I can't figure out how to get the crosshairs on screen that you have. I know this video is pretty old - do you remember the specifics of what you did? Thanks!
That can only be done through cheats. I believe your windows cursor can be set to match the game position, although perhaps you just like the way the in game cursor looks more. I used a cursor because it was the only way for the second player to be able to use a second mouse and see the cursor position, although 1p had been ok for me.

This is the cheat to make the cursor show up. If you don't know how to use cheats on PCSX2, you need to copy this into a text file, call it 7FBCDA34.pnach and save it in the cheats folder, and then enable cheats in the emulator.

I can't give you a link, but it's not that hard to find an iso of it through google. You would need to use the emulator PCSX2 to play it, though.

No, but there isn't that much to it. A widescreen code was used, and the internal resolution was set to something like 6x in the emulator's graphics settings.

There was that one time me and my friend played this game at arcade. The game machine has some problem. when we put the coin it came out but the machine thought the coin already in there and allow us to play the game. we having a blast with only 1 coin.

This game was a mixture of House of the Dead and Castlevania.
4 Things.
1) 27:44... that is a beautiful waterfall scenery. Never seen a waterfall like inside a castle.
2) That female vampire in the white gown, I so wanted to bone her... then fight her.
3) Was it just me or did that little girl become annoying after a while? I suppose she did serve some type of purpose to reminded our heroes of the goodness that still existed around them.
4) SPOILER ALERT: Can't believe our heroes turned out to be vampires themselves. Still a good ending though.
The heroes are actually creations of the Vampire who have been given human warmth by Caroline the survivor.

This was played on an emulator, so it's played at a higher resolution than the real thing. This game was always 60fps, even on a real PS2.

@@TheAccountant1000 Yes, this was played with PCSX2. I don't believe it's currently possible to play the original arcade version on PC.

@@TheAccountant1000 Actually, an emulator is just a program that you can use to run certain systems on your PC. I would suggest checking a PCSX2 tutorial video if you want to see how it works. I wouldn't say it's too hard to set up, but it would be a little more complicated if you haven't used an emulator before. I would also add that there is a little more to setting up this game in particular, because it originally used a lightgun. Note that in this video, a mouse was used for aiming.

Nah, they are way too different.
2:30-2:50 - Virtua cop/ the house of the dead 1&2 civilian mechanic: “ok don’t shoot civilians or you lose one life!”
Vampire Night civilian mechanic: “save these civilians from these hideous looking parasites by shooting their weak spot! Miss the weak spot? No problem! Just compensate the civilian-turned-vampire with more lead!”
But you'll also run into another problem: You only get a life bonus for saving ALL civilians. Miss one and you'll miss the bonus.
I have a question about the main characters.
What were they? vampires or dhampyrs?. According to what I read, they were dhampyrs. I thought that those were immune to sunlight.

If player 1 used a mouse, what did player 2 use to aim and shoot with? Sorry, I'm new to the concept of emulators and can't seem to find the answers online.
Some programs on PC work with a second mouse, and this is one of them.

Its like combine of the house of he dead 3, wild west shootout arcade, and silent hill the arcade
Weirdly enough, I recall playing some wild west arcade in the states. One of the bosses was a shaman throwing spells and summoning skeletons to fight you.
I would still much rather play Aliens shooter or Time Crisis 3 at the mall though.
Hopefully 1 up will do a Namco cabinet with all the Time Crisis games and Vampire Night.
