The best thing about this ending is that when you present the correct evidence, unlike in every other trial, the music keeps playing and Godot says the same line as he would had you gotten it wrong. That is until the camera pans back to Phoenix and you see the ghost of Mia. That was a real "Holy shit!" moment for me when I first played this.
Although the start of the sentence changes, just from "Ha!... I don't know what you're talking about." to "...Ha! I don't know what you're talking about." Apparently there is supposed to be a short pause from Godot after we present the evidence, inferring that he is probably aware of the fact that we might actually know where the wound is, yet he still is in disagreement by continuing to deny our proof.
2-4 also has this when you present de Killer and the video tape. Whether or not you get it right or wrong, the music stops and the judge asks Edgeworth what he thinks, then Edgeworth stutters
Nice Coffee Joke, but when I completed the case the first time around, this really got to me, I wasn't expecting the person across the court room to be the culprit. As Bridge to the Turnabout kept going on in that court segment, it was more and more obvious, but most still wanted to deny it. The ending really got me, it was very quiet in the court room, the game very much read the room that this victory that feels like a loss, because even though you caught the culprit, it was a character that was built up around you throughout the game, arguably one of the best characters in the entire series, ended up being the one behind it entirely.
The reason this ending hits so hard is because of the buildup. We don't get all of Godot's story at once, but we get little snippets across the game and go piecing it together before they tell us the full story.
this ending is so perfect for so so many reasons. its bittersweet, its not necessarily a "happy" ending, its affected so many people. phoenix's character development is AMAZING. this scene just shows his confidence in such an amazing way, we as the audience and player have watched him grow from a rookie to this confident, clever attorney and it's so moving. the way he tells himself what mia used to tell him to help him, without mia's guidance, shows that he IS a capable person, he doesn't depend on someone to save him anymore. godot's tears, maya's reaction, just everything is so amazing and emotional. i love it. nothing can explain the emotions i felt when finishing this case for the very first time.
@TheSimplePlot stuff like that puts a smile on my face. While I'm not smart enough to become a lawyer. This series taught me to find the truth within the truth.
Phoenix is arguably just as good a prosecutor as he is a defense attorney, and a better prosecutor than any we've seen in the series. All the cases end with the real murderer being convicted by Phoenix himself, except for maybe Farewell, my Turnabout.
Actually he catches the real culprit even there. Well, a client of the culprit anyway. At this point police probably knows who Shelly de Killer is (how he looks like for the very least), so it’s up to police to just catch him.

Before this part, Godot mentions how he had an opportunity to clean the blade and use someone else's blood. That's because, since we didn't find the knife, gumshoe did, he had to give it to Godot to be processed as evidence. Ergo, it can be assumed that although the knife did once have godots blood, there's a very high chance he tampered with it. However, if they could prove Godot had a a wound, it wouldn't matter whose blood was on the blade, since it would've shown he was the one dahlia struck
