Takeaway at home and so easy. There are so many possibilities in this style of dish, spicy, non spicy, different meats or fish etc, You should experiment more and write a book because that looks amazing

I don’t usually write comments, but after seeing this recipe I had to give it go. I can honestly say that it’s absolutely amazing and easy to do. I even have the same air fryer and would recommend that brand also👍

I love the idea of this recipe but each time I've tried it I have an issue with the rice at the top of the stack because it tends to go overly crisp and unpalatable at the top, where there's less water contact. I'm cooking at 200C and I wonder if I need to turn down the heat maybe to 180. I know different air fryers perform very differently.
Totally making this one for dinner tonight! Sorry to be that guy who always asks for changes, but i can't afford an air fryer at present; will this work similarly in a large wide pan with a lid on the hob?
Absolutely but the direct heat hitting the base of the pan in which the tray sits might burn the chicken. In an airfryer you've not got the issue. Give it a go and let me know how it goes 😊🙌

Good Q! No and the reason for that is... The recipe is tested numerous times until it's perfect. So, obviously the final product will be good! Maybe I should film a behind the scenes, recipe testing video 🤔😁🙌

You can also fry onions in the air fryer. Just leave them large enough to not fly around.

Yes it will, my air fryer does not have a bottom element. I just place the lower tray in so the air can flow around the tray.

You will need the sealable foil tray as the rice needs to steam in order to fully cook.
Which brand of pre-fried onions did you use?
Hi, it was the Sapna brand of pre fried onions. Just check your local Asian shops or supermarket.

I wonder if a lamb version would come out as good as lamb would maybe take more time to tenderise. What are your thoughts?
We are testing a lamb version next. I think it would need some kind of tenderizer so the lamb can cook quicker but it's definitely possible.

Do you still have to cover it if using the ninja foodi air fryer because you don’t need to use the foil tray as it has a bowl.
You didn't tell us which setting you used on the air fryer, does it matter air fry, bake or roast?
Graham mine doesn't have a setting, I'm assuming it's the airfryer one.
