I tried to add a comment with a picture linked to it, but it was deleted. I re-assembled my lens a week or so ago, but had taken out the screws for the VR unit and diaphragm. Those screw holes have moved upwards, so now the diaphragm is loose in the lens, although it all works for now. Are there shims for those screws (diaphragm and VR unit) held in place by glue? I used a hair dryer to move the outer 'shield' so I assume it softened the glue on those too?
@@DiaxxDidi Do you mean the screws that go into the brass runners that were skipped in this video? They are fiddly, but you just need to patiently press them into place and slowly guide the tube over them, before putting the screws in. Takes a bit of patience. I've actually put one of the tubes on 'wrong' (a third of a turn out) but don't want to go through reassembling it again, as it works fine as it is.
This lens is a piece of junk! A class action lawsuit should be filed AGAINST NIKON for all those who purchased this dreck. This is a continuous problem.

@@supernovahm1178 Nothing was broken, I just needed to loosen and jiggle the VR unit to re-align everything in the end.

I'll get into diagnosing the problems it has in the near future. Hope to fix them!
