Dude, the Cure! Awesome demo video for that alone. Thanks for playing stuff I'd actually use these pedals for. Definitely gives a better idea of how they'd sound than the usual pentatonic finger Olympics.
Now that's a comparison! All demo's should be done like this.
Nikita’s stuff videos are the best of the best!
Each have their strength, nice demo
I love the regular one.
Very nice video man
***** Thanks, mate!
The different is in pitch / detune amount on the original , its more ' sea sick ' due to a greater pitch detune.
I adore the 70's/80's classic green but that 90's deluxe sounds rad?
Is it Stereo?
Matt Gilbert no, it's mono - second output is direct out
The original late 70's Deluxe is by far the best of all flangers ever made. I have 2 of them they are my favourite flangers. I also had the green but didn't like it because it didn't sound the same and returned it at the time. Today's little green Deluxe Electric Mistress is awful, bought one and sent it back immediately, nothing in common with the original. I also have a 2000 Deluxe Electric Mistress, looks the same as original but it doesn't sound as good, it is a simplified version of the original. I have many flangers of all makes, analog and digital, the only digital one able to emulate the original DEL EM is the Dr Scientist Bitquest, amazing ! The only other analog flanger able to sound as closer as possible is the EHX Flanger Hoax, it also has many other possibilities, but it sounds a little weaker and it's slightly noisier, but I like it as well.
Bucket Brigade chips used in the originals sound way better than anything manufactured today. I've had deluxe & regular electric mistresses from 70's & 80's, they just have this fat vibrant sound you can't get anymore.
IMO the biggest difference between the Deluxe and the original is the behavior of the Rate knob. The originals had a Rate control which yielded slow to medium flanging for about 3/4 of the range before going into rotary sounds for the remainder of the dial. Somewhere along the way, EHX started using a more linear pot, which in practice meant that all the usable sounds on the original now fell into about 8-10 o'clock on the newer models, which is much harder to fine-tune.
I guarantee that if EHX went back to the old Rate pot, then a lot of naysayers of the reissues would vanish overnight. Yes, there's the coveted SAD1024 chip that the reissues don't have, plus some tonal differences. But everyone praises the Mooer, Retro-Sonic, and PastFX clones for supposedly being dead-on to the originals even though none of them have the old chips. That's because the Rate knob on those pedals behaves like the old models - wider range of musical flanging and less rotary stuff, giving the player more space to access the classic tones which made these pedals so famous in the first place! :)
Is it slowdive at the end? It's beautiful :)
nothing concrete, just improvisation. Thanks)
...I hear her voice, calling my name, the sound is deep, in the dark... :) Nice. No comparison, the original is so much better (and better than any other flanger)
You could compare it to the current deluxe mistress? ...... I have a current one and let me know how far is Vintage
Unfortunately, I have no access to a current mistresses
deniki4 thanks anyway, you video is great!
@thats just like ur opinion man How so?
Hi, it's me again! Can please tell me is it worth to buy deluxe electric mistress with power adapter included for 120€? I think its the last big-box version? Is it good for replaicating David Gilmour sound? Or should I look for older versions with chicken knobs like yours? Thanks :)
Hi! I don't tried the last big-box version. I think you need original green mistress for replicating David's sound - check my new video about mistresses th-cam.com/video/SeqS2K3boDU/w-d-xo.html

Vintage goodness.
Pretty sure they're the same (same boards), just orientated differently ... and the Deluxe has an extra output ... ? :P
Kieren Morre they’re not, the deluxe has a noise filter that kills some frequencies that make up the v2’s sound, has more midrange too.
Deluxe sounds richer, "standard" sounds spookier.
@@gilibertopaparauchas5959 it's easy to mod out the filter, right?
Deluxe has an internal transformer with a cable instead of 2x9V batteries in the original. That's all.
