- I decided to say goodbye to Japan for a bit and went solo traveling in Europe this summer 🌷
I spent 3 full days in the Netherlands and had miraculously good weather for early May and was able to see everything I really wanted to while spending time with my friend 🤗 It was really such a beautiful country!!! And everyone was so kind and wow...! Such good memories! I really took this and my coming France vlog for my own memories, so maybe it's not the best storytelling or anything, but I hope you enjoy coming along with me 🌞
Here was my loose itinerary, though I didn't film Day 1 or 5:
Day 1: Arrive in the evening
Day 2: Utrecht → Keukenhof → Leiden → Utrecht
Day 3: Utrecht → Amsterdam → Utrecht
Day 4: Utrecht → Rotterdam → Utrecht
Day 5: Utrecht → Amsterdam → Paris

NETHERLANDS TRAVEL VLOG | tulip season, miffy tour, exploring cozy amsterdam and utrecht 🌷
Presenting....EUROPE VLOG #1 🌷!! Thank you guys for waiting~~ I had so much fun (and took way too many videos) so this took awhile to make...but I'm glad to finally be uploading my good summer memories 🥰
I don't think these videos will do very well since I usually do Japan videos~ So pretend you are traveling with me~ and Leave a comment to support the video~
What's your favorite place in the Netherlands, or where do you want to go? 😍
I do love Leiden (went there again last Friday). Haarlem is also nice.
It is so fun to see a youtuber I already know for a long time visit my motherland. Glad you enjoyed.
Thank you I had a great time ❤️
uhm fatherland
Thank you for staying in Utrecht. I live there, but its fun to see what a non dutch tourist sees and experiences of the city.
I still lived my whole live in Utrecht and I know its beautiful, but if you see it everyday it looses the special feeling and sights in my own eyes.
That's why I like to see your experience of my city.
Fun fact: The father/creator of Miffy (Dick Bruna) lived in Utrecht. That's why you can find more unique Miffy related stuff in Utrecht. (like its own square at 6:28)
That tulip place looked so stunning! How wonderful to see cities other than the capital 😊
What a fun trip! Thanks for sharing. I guess I didn’t realize Miffy was Dutch. She seems so at home in Japan!!
Yes, she is born in the Netherlands and her real name is Nijntje. Her you can hear how it is pronounced: th-cam.com/video/3yrMlCGri8U/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
I know right, she is so beloved in Japan 🥺
Beautiful scenery❤ Really makes me want to revisit the Netherlands outside Amsterdam! Can’t wait for 🇫🇷

Hey, Allison. Thanks for the video. The Netherlands is such a nice country. I checked out Miffy. Really like. Have a great day and stay safe
Loved the video! So much Miffy and the vibes 😍 thank you for posting
🌷🌷🤗
Hey Allison, beautiful vacation, thanks for taking us along with you!!!
Thank you! 🤗
Unexpected to see my home country pop up between your videos! Was doing some japanese research for our Japan trip next October (so excited and nervous🫠). You have been really helpfull ^^.
The Netherlands looked beautiful and peaceful. You friend was so sweet. My daughter that lives in Japan does solo trips sometimes and loves it.
Solo trips are so underrated ❤️
Hi Allison, my name is Hans and I’m from England the United Kingdom. 🇬🇧 🏴I love watching your videos of Japan. ❤
I really loved watching your vlog of the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ❤
Glad you liked the city I was born in and still live in today 😊
Love this! I went to Netherlands for two weeks in high school. We had wine at a bar 😂🩷 youre one of my new fave vloggers
thanks ❤️ I did the same in Europe in high school 🤓
@@AllisoninTokyo felt so cool 🥰
Utrecht looks nice and chill. Amsterdam more dark and urban. Gorgeous tulips and wisteria too. Happy travels!
Those wharf cellars are so iconic for Utrecht! The place where you stayed would have been build anywhere between 1150 and 1500 AD. So, you probably could not have any better place to stay either, I am actually just a little bit jealous now!
Wow!!! That’s incredible:0
Glad you liked it in the Netherlands! :) I hate that weed smell in Amsterdam too. You can't walk anywhere without smelling that XD
Yay europe vlogs!
Thank you for visiting my homeland ❤ i am glade you enjoyed it! Can’t wait for the France vlog.
9:06, oh no, dont look Alison. Its better in your dreams. People basically work to afford to live there. I could write a whole essay lol. Im glad you on holidays !! and getting to see your friend. Enjoy 💚💚
Don’t worry I expected as much ☹️
Ooooo Netherlands how cool 💖 Wow so much Miffy, even the traffic light is so cute 🥰🚦
I was obsessed with the light 🥺
You're so cute! This was a fun and chill video 🌷
❤️❤️❤️
I'm glad you had such nice weather! I visited the Netherlands in 1991. I'm looking forward to your France adventures!
Europe vlogs, yay! 🎉
Allison love your travel vlogs, hope you had a great time ❤.
Thank you!!
What a beautiful holiday for you.❤
❤️❤️
Looks beautiful!
Still sad you didn't come for coffee ;) But amazing to see you have been here! Specially cause you were a big part when we decided to go to Japan. Still strange to observe what foreigners think of my country and city, always makes me appreciate living here even more.
Thanks ❤️Definitely need to go back longer next time 😭
@@AllisoninTokyo please do, and have someone from Amsterdam show you Amsterdam hahahaha
Love your videos!! ❤
Thank you for the, ummm, Dutch treat! Really beautiful tour, Allison
It is not a boathouse, it is a wharf cellar. These wharfs were used to load/unload goods from the boats on the canal and store the goods in the cellars under the houses on top/street level.
Oww! Welcome to the Netherlands🤩 I've been following you for a couple years now it's so fun (and sometimes funny) to see my home country through your eyes. Glad to see you enjoyed your time here😊
P.S. you pronounced Nijntje correctly! You might now recognise the Dutch "-ijn" sound in my name too😁
Yay I'm glad 💪 It's nice to get out and explore a bit and see things through fresh eyes 😇
The Dutch would *never*, *ever*, stand outside in the rain waiting for pie.
10:01 is definitely the place I'd go to.
Ohh this makes me want to visit, and that Airbnb is so cool
Ik hoop dat je een fijne tijd had in Nederland! (I hope you had a nice time in the Netherlands!)
Thank you, I had a great time!!!
Glad to hear that! I really enjoyed your vlog! In your vlog there were clips of places I've never been to, so that was cool. I also like your love of Nijntje! Always fun to see how popular she is with people all over the world. And you did pronounce Nijntje correctly actually :).
I'm from the north of the Netherlands myself (and from the countryside) and I've only been to Utrecht and Rotterdam a couple of times, Amsterdam I've visited one time, and I've never been to Leiden (but I really want to!). I go to uni in a city called Groningen (in the north). It's a bit like Utrecht, but smaller. But if you wanted to visit again sometime, I can really recommend Valkenburg and Maastricht in the province of Limburg in the south. They are beautiful cities and the surrounding landscapes are beautiful as well, there's a bit more (small) hills there and it's a lot less flat than most of my country, haha. Valkenburg is quite a idyllic town. You could also visit Zwolle in the province of Overijssel, or Leeuwarden in the province of Friesland (Friesland has a lot of countryside as well).
On a side note: the reason Rotterdam is known for it's more modern architecture is because the Luftwaffe bombed it when the n*zi's invaded the Netherlands, so a lot of the old architecture got flattened and had to be rebuilt (but you might know that already, I'm also just saying this for anyone in the comments who maybe doesn't know).
I'm glad you liked my country a lot! I'm looking forward to your France vlog! Have a nice day!!
Everyone 420 BLAZING IT in Amsterdam? Lol
🌿
@@AllisoninTokyo 😂🤣
Looked like a really fun trip. Glad you had a good time.
Looked lovely! I personally always feel like Utrecht is a bit too industrial for me, but Leiden is really pretty and Amsterdam, for a city that size, is really nice too. Additionally, Leiden means to suffer in German, which is always funny to me. Leiden is also the only place, I nearly caused a traffic accident among bikes, by slowing down while rolling towards an intersection to check the street sign, which the commuters behind me did not expect and nearly ran me over.
Lovely place, very pretty country in general.
I would be terrified to ride a bike here 😂
@@AllisoninTokyo it's a lot of fun in the countryside, but the city traffic needs a lot of getting used to.
In Dutch "leiden" means to lead on/go first but "lijden" means to suffer.
Utrecht is awesome. I stay there too over overpriced Amsterdam. Only 30 minute commute. I'd stay in Netherlands for a long time if I could afford it. 😢
Cool Airbnb I'd stay there.
I've been to Keukenhof too. That massive field of multi colored tulips is impressive.
No you don't want to know how much an apartment is in Amsterdam. 😂
Nekooooo!!
omg love to see the dji in action!!! so greeen compared to tokyo haha
rightttt tokyo would be soo elite if it had more trees lol
I don't know if Utrecht was much cheaper than Amsterdam, but it's a really good city. for budget options you could have lived in Eindhoven and commuted to Amsterdam
I love flower,new friend
Nice Alison:). I am traveling to Tokyo within 2 moths from Rotterdam lol. It will be my 2nd time in Japan, My 1rst. time was in 2018. I traveled: Tokyo, Hakone, Nagoya, Takayami, Osaka, Himeji, Hiroshima, Kagoshima, Kyushu ( cant't remember the town name) > Kumamoyo> Fukuoka.
Enjoy!!
I hope one day i can come here, new friend
Some sections of Amsterdam can be really bad smell wise. It also looks like you experienced our amazing Dutch weather as well which makes it all the more authentic 🤣
Yeah I’m just glad my tulip day was sunny 😂
If you loved the architecture of Utrecht you'd love Zürich, Switzerland. I went there last year and it was phenomenal
Definitely need to goooo
What restaurant was at 16:28? The desserts looks adorable!
👏👏👏👏
Wait what?😯 You’ve been in the Netherlands?🇳🇱 Nice.
Keukenhof has been for 38 years my backyard..ish. I could it see from my old bedroom. Mom and dad have moved last January.
Exploring the Netherlands during tulip season must have been magical! Which part of the trip captured the essence of Dutch charm the most?
It was! I really liked Utrecht as it wasn’t crowded at all, had the canals and Dutch charm I expected, and really felt very liveable 🥰
@@AllisoninTokyo I need to get there! I have been to Amsterdam and loved it!
I've never been to Europe but if I had to I'd pick Spain since I know Spanish
I fkin love your background music, where do you get it from?? So calming, I could watch your vids just for the music
you have to "onion look" in that part of Europe.. 😏😆that means many layers of clothes so that you can take off / put on layers during the day, as you go
Yeah I regret not thinking of that when I was packing 😣😣
A very beautiful city, but the most beautiful thing about that city is you!!! (The monkey). Cesar from Medellin - Colombia.
today i learned the rabbit is called miffy in english instead of nijntje in dutch, it takes an american from japan to come to the netherlands which is right next to me in belgium for me to learn this lol
Haha 😂 I guess she goes by miffy in the rest of the world! Maybe because it’s easy for non-Dutch kids to pronounce? 🤔
I was thinking, who the hell is Miffy. Now I understand people are referring to Nijntje.
Utrecht was a good choice. Locals consider it the capital of the country almost more than Amsterdam, because Amsterdam is too international. Utrecht is way more representative of the Dutch.
Miffy's real name is Nijntje.......
15:13 Hogwarts?
amsterdam is very expensive and overhyped. stay anywhere else and do it as a day trip or two day trips.
I always thought Miffy was Japanese lol
NIJNTJE if you are in the Nederlands please not Miffy!!!!!!. Nijntje is Dutch!!!!!!!
btw "Leiden" means "to suffer" 👀😆
😂
That is not true, that is lijden. The verb leiden means to lead.
