Still great value in 2024. Was set on Seekins Precision Rings and then came across this video. Found a Vortex Precision PMR-30-97 set for sale by private owner for $75. NIB condition. Going on a Savage Model 111 in .300WM.
It looks like Vortex borrows much of their rings from other manufacturer or vice/versa. Their Pro cantilever Mount looks a lot similar to Warnes Skel Mounts.
I have the Seekins MXM flat top scope mount. Just like the rings, it is great. Fit and finish is perfect. Every angle cut into it seems thought through. There are hollowed out spots right where they need to be to reduce weight but maintain rigidity
I was in-between the night force and seeking rings went with the seeking rings. Mostly because of the beautiful sleek lines. what a great ring. Don't get me wrong night force are great too.
Reconditioned means they were likely refinished, new screws, whatever that specific set of rings required. Reconditioned/refurbished, doesn’t mean “someone opened the box” as one commenter stated.
Got an "open box" condition Vortex Precision Rings for $65. Lightly Scratched, but they work. Hard to ruin metal rings, well worth it.

XLR scope rings are UTG Pro scope rings. ( Made in USA.) UTG rings are $30 less. Plus free shipping.

Im sure Vortex just leases the designs, or even has those manufacturers machine them for Vortex. Add a premium and everybodys happy.
Paid $2k for the scope so $329 is nothing

The scope rings look so similar because Seekins makes the Vortex rings. I have two sets, just amazing.
I think by “reconditioned” they may be products that people opened out of the packaging and returned the next day.
