Thanks for posting cultural dances on you tube. You're making our country proud. The last show I watched was the Bayanihan Dancers here in Modesto,CA. in the summer of 2011. Please come often guys. Thanks and God bless y'all.
Beb Coronel I totally agree, my late wife of 31 years was Filipina, my sons are married to Filipina. I plan to return to the Philippines for good and live out my life there.
It's the Filipino Identity. We created a culture of our own. try checking the other cultures next to our country like the Javanese Indonesians, they took it from India. I guess if u couldn't take the Filipino music derived from the Western I guess it's not our problem anymore. I know that this is our own.
Fascinating... No other South East Asian culture seems so strongly influenced by colonial culture as Philippines... Compared to Indonesian (Dutch) or Vietnam (French). Very interesting culture.
@@gentilewarrior yes, my Indonesian parents always treat Filipinos as their "brothers" and do not compete with them unlike with Singaporeans and Malaysians because their culture is so different, so there is nothing to compete about 😂
The story of Filipino Nationals was during Spanish era. A lot of dance in Southeast Asia and other culture was also an influence. India influence most of Southeast Asia, China mostly influence all East Asia and Mainland Southeast Asia.
You could say the same thing about Latin America and the Native American civilisation but past is past and history is history- it gave birth to new and unique cultures
Hi guys! What is the title of the music? people have been asking this question. Please, let me know. I belong to Filipino-Canadian group and we are practicing this dance for christmas. We would like to have the copy of the song and where can I buy the CD? ASAP, please.
Honestly, I can't see any visual similarities between this dance and those you've mentioned. Well, a great amount of folk dances are in waltz step. Would that make them all similar? Well, Post hoc ergo propter hoc is a common logical fallacy after all. I have no grudge on these similarities but based on how you delivered this comment, it seems that you want to convey an idea that philippine folk dances are mere copycats. What a reach.
Listen to the western style music. look at the western style clothing. watch their western style dancing. Unless I hear kulintang music and clearly indigenous melodies, it is NOT indigenous to the archipelago, but western derived bullshit. I hate this.
Im indonesian and I like to watch this video this is trully beautiful and amazing ❤❤❤👍👍👍👍
Well you should totally watch more filipino folk dances they are very interesting, My most favorite one is Tutup

+Christopher O'Rourke My wife is Pinay as well, and I might be following you. in fact, I find myself more and more every day disliking Americans.

Kim Vincent Lisondra awat kw bad
This feels mesmerizing yet also disturbing at the account of just seeing Asians being heavily influenced by West European culture.
Spain's South Europe, not West. Just clarifying so don't mind me.
Gratia Seia
I think they just mean “Western” / “European” culture. With a slash /.
And actually, Spain would be Southwest Europe to be precise. 😊
You could say the same thing about Latin America and the Native American civilisation but past is past and history is history- it gave birth to new and unique cultures

If you think that this aspect of the Filipino culture is repulsive, then you're one heck of an ignorant bullshit yourself.
