I always loved watching the Snake and the Mongoose on TV as a kid. One of my favorite toys was a Cox gas powered dragster ;-)

Incredible job. Wouldn't expect anything less from you Paul. They had Snake and Mongoose II, the Mongoose II, out of the four cars that they produced was the only one that they did in spectraflame. It was spectraflame blue. For some reason I liked how the body was square and how the paint stood out so much. I'd like to see you do one of those one day.

nice job, but i wish you'd tackled the plastic interior inserts since they looked a bit faded and dull. oddly enough, peanut butter works for that.

Man! That's a work of art brother! Thats so beautiful id be upset to give it back too. I want to get a set of snake/mongoose cars to restore. Problem is the Ebay hoarders are asking stupid $$ for junkers.

Pop the windshield out near front and pull assy. through the front of mongoose and snake.
replace the same way slide through windshield hole, hang rear of glass on rear tab and push into place.

Wow,that turned out excellent, you do such beautiful work and make it look so easy, hope I can become as good as you and a few others I follow on utube, I've just got started doing customs and restorations on 1/64 diecast, but have been building 1/24, 1/25 scale models since a young boy, and have been collecting both for years, keep up the great work, and keep the videos coming

I remember reding chromes&flames, and all the news about those dragsters during the 90's. loved the recognizable shapes, and how they went great lengths to replicate headlights, grille, bumper and necessary bits with just paint. :)
I used to have the snake&mongoose combo kit by I think, AMT, but never got around to build them, and later resold them when I needed the storage and a few coins...

I have a redline Mongoose II that has had a problem since it was new. The pin in the body does not fit snugly into the hole in the plastic ladder assembly so the body won't stay closed. I also have a Series II S'Cool Bus with the same problem. Do you know how to fix this?
I have my old Snake and Mongoose rail dragsters from about 1970. A lille worse for wear but look good on my display shelf. Nice restoration!
