@@brianoleary6332 You can create basic 2D animations in DaVinci Resolve. However, it’s not optimized for traditional hand-drawn or frame-by-frame 2D animation workflows. For complex 2D animation, you would use specialized software like Toon Boom Harmony, Moho (Anime Studio), or Adobe Animate, which are built specifically for creating detailed 2D animated content. *The specific answer you were looking for:* DaVinci Resolve is primarily for video editing, color correction, and visual effects, with some animation capabilities, but it’s not specialized for 2D animation even though it is possible to an extent.
just got back from watching the animation, and gotta say, it was on point! especially the ending, reminds exactly of an P&F episode. this tutorial was also great! can't wait to see more!
I watched your animation, and it was AWESOME!!! You DEFINITELY nailed the show’s animation style! I really hope Dan sees your video, because I bet he would be really proud if does if he did! 😊
When you animate it,you can probably go into the node where is the clothe and put additional animation like clothe move to made it more alive or the hair too
You forgot one crucial thing animated cartoons are at 24 fps so it will look too smooth if you have anything higher then that you can add a posterise time effect and set it to 24 fps to get that cartoon look
amazing as always.would really appreciate if you could make tut for lighting and vfx for 2d animation .plz keep uploading.your videos are helping me a ton
Hey, I really like animation, and what you're doing here is really cool! I have a decent doof impression (at least thats what I've been told), and if it would be possible, I could re-record some of the voice lines! (I have a contact google form linked on my channel) Either way, I love the animation! It does work really well! God bless! 😂 (I didn't want to undercut your effort by just making an edit, since it would be easier for you to drop in the voiceover audio anyways lol.)
Hey if youre ever needing a voice for any of your other animations, you could open a casting call on casting call club! Theres plenty of VAs who would do volunteer/non paid work if you cant afford to pay anyone, so you wont have to resort to using AI! Great video btw! Your compositing video really helped me understand my own process! I plan to make a tutorial myself since my animation is more hand drawn than rigged ^^
bro, if you have the studio version, use fusion as a separate software, it will work better for your use, it has some more features and seems to perform a little better
Another work around for the doofenshmirtz impression would have been to get one of those ai voice changers where you record audio of yourself and then it gets transtioned into the sound of anyone you want. They have some free ones but you just need to know where to look
Your videos are very good, excellent content, they helped me create my channel in Portuguese. Which one did you use to change the timbre of your voice?
Do you know if it’s possible to mix 2d animation with 3d environments? I know some cartoon have done it like futurama and others possibly. If it’s possible in davinci resolve, could we get a tutorial on how to do it?
If you're going to do that I feel like Blender would make more sense. I'm not an expert but Grease Pencil is really powerful for the 2d aspects and Blender is literally designed for 3d while Resolve is a video editing program that has a lot of bonus features
The video was good I have tips on how to improve the animation. 1) I recommend having more variation in the speed of how fast characters do things. Like have some movements be really fast and have a few frames and have some be really slow and have a ton of frames. 2) More variety in the poses would be great
There is 1 issue! You put too much movement int he character. The original is stutter yours is smooth. If you can reduce the fps of the animation you can achive the best i guess or just make the doof move stutter.
In Fusion (I mean the separate program from davinci resolve) I miss some nodes like "Warper" or "Mosaic blur", is there a way to install nodes to Fusion from Davinci resolve "fusion page"?
Totally unrelated, but I don't understand why Blackmagic still hasn't fixed their render/export issues (especially when doing an h . 264 / 265 export). I once exported a file that took almost a day, only to be left with export glitches reminiscent of those seen in 2 : 50. Should your videos ever get into the nitty-gritty, technical side of things, this could be a topic to be brought to their attention by someone that has a certain reach. Unrelated rant over. Well, if anything, the more comments you get, the more valuable you're perceived as by the algorithm - well deserved!
Yeah those are definitely annoying. Idk if this fixes it but I've noticed they happen alot less often when I export as a .mov instead of MP4. The downside is it's a much bigger file size. Thanks for the algorithm engagement lol
@@NomadRProductions Yep, I typically go for a DNxHR export for more critical projects and then do an h . 264 / 265 / mp4 conversion using Handbrake. I guess for TH-cam explainer videos like this one it doesn't really matter, but if you export a short film or an animated short, it sure is annoying
if he can animate on davinci so flawlessly, imagine what he could do in an animation software
*Fear*
Isn't Davinci Resolve an animation software?

Dude that rig is like flawless what the heck
Dr goat
agreed also love your tutorials man
A little late, but it was an honor to take part on this project 😌
It was an honor to have you on it! Couldn't have done it without you :)
Felt like watching a some weird Disney flash game, where they get a completely different voice actor from the original🤣
just got back from watching the animation, and gotta say, it was on point! especially the ending, reminds exactly of an P&F episode. this tutorial was also great! can't wait to see more!

Waiting for Dan to see this.
Tbh, you actually did a amazing job with the software.
You always manage to amaze me. Animating in DaVinci is crazy
When you animate it,you can probably go into the node where is the clothe and put additional animation like clothe move to made it more alive or the hair too
The funny thing is I actually added controls to move the coat, but I ended up not using them in the final animation lol
@@NomadRProductions ohhhh mann
I don’t know how you learn and remember all this 🤯 bro you smart asf
6:33 you should’ve gotten Kevin Temmer Tunes to do the voice, man!! He’s got an amazing impression!!
Just saw that animation in the video too 😆
And of course I’ll send it along to Dan!!
What is this animation style?! You are so gifted!!!
Ughh bro this is amazing !!!
Pretty sure if you figured out a way to contact Dan Povenmire, he would have done the voice lines for you
I thought about it, but I figured he's pretty busy with the new seasons and all.
Plus I'm still just trying to get him to see this video lol
Kevin Temmer would’ve been a good choice too just saying 😁
omg. haha, this is amazing. what a wild process.
Okay that perry impersonation is freaking spot on 😂
After watching both, while the AI does sound more like Doof, I prefer your real voice. It definitely sounds more natural.
It was pretty funny too! Great job! Also the style reminds me of Doof’s Daily Dirt which was a Doofenshmirtz spinoff Series animated in Adobe Flash.
Dan is on Cameo! Buy a cameo of him doing the lines!!!
You forgot one crucial thing animated cartoons are at 24 fps so it will look too smooth if you have anything higher then that you can add a posterise time effect and set it to 24 fps to get that cartoon look
Wauuu, awesome job!!!!❤

Could you do a breakdown of demon slayer compositing? That would be very interesting and informative I think
I'd love to see your attempt at hand drawn animation at some point.

Make inverse kinematics possible in davinc 😊
Inverse kinematics would be so awesome to have in Davinci! I've played around some but haven't had much luck
You should've made Roxanne Peter the panda...
how did you make the audio waveform visible in the keyframe window on 4:37?
If you reach out to Dan Povenmire, he's usually super cool about doing voice lines for fans
