I remember that video of Timisa. It was Limpopo that pushed the tree over and uprooted it halfway. Timi was still learning at the time so she was trying out new methods. She’s so smart. Her and Khanyisa have the best teachers.
My Sweet and Beautiful Timisa and Gorgeous Meisiekind really went to town on these branches. Khanyisa has really learned from her HERD and does it so well! Thank you so much for this great video~
Good morning to everyone at HERD 🐘. Thank you for this interesting information about how elephants 🐘 strip bark. I enjoyed episode 14 how elephants 🐘 strip bark.❤️🐘❤️
Totally fantastic video! Enjoyed watching it all and so appreciative of your making these videos so we can further understand and enjoy these magnificent animals! ❤
Makes sense how they use their tusks, after all they are somewhat considered teeth in a way...only placed in a different location, deep rooted and made of dentine instead of enamel . Great information and video. Learning so much from these informational videos on my favorite animal in the whole world!! Thank you Herd.❤ 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Thank you for continuing my education! I can never learn to much about elephants. they are wonderful intelligent and very complex. you are all so wonderful at HERD! The Jubulani HERD is in grreat hands. sending much love to all suzanne usa
It's really amazing how with the large sizes of their tusks and trunks they manage to feed on very thin and small branches, even stripping the branches from them. If I ever come across a tree or shrub with their barks stripped in the bush, I would not ever guess that an ellie could be responsible for that if not for these videos about elephant behavior. I really love that the babies, Timi and Khanyisa have made a lot of appearances in this video. I remember that clip where Timi was cleaning her strip of bark before eating it as the first video where I noted that she is very beautiful baby elephant. Somopane is indeed peaceful even with the way he eats. He exudes confidence and he just looks so cool breaking that branch without breaking a sweat. And Bubi is just amusing how she turns around with class after being reprimanded by the carers. And finally, my favorite part is when Jabu shared some branches with Timi. That was so just sweet. And their size difference there was really huge. Thank you so much for this video. I love the format. Please keep them coming. God Bless You All.🙏🐘❤
Love these videos educational to lean about these amazing elephants it's marvellous how they use their tusks as tools to strip the bark and there trunks to turn the branches in their mouths to get the bark khanyisa is very clever how she as learned all this knowledge sebakwe couldn't find anything I find these elephants absolutely amazing thank you for these videos ❤❤❤
i talk about that almost everyday i keep telling everyone that animals are VERY intelligent as a matter of fact i believe they take only what they need which makes us well, stupid in a use of a better word, because we are killing this miracle world this planet with so much abundance. i also think they know something we dont and never will. that love and family is the most important thing in this world, we will never learn that, but they do.
Buon pomeriggio HERD da Pisa Italy , è molto interessante conoscere come mangiano e cosa mangiano queste bellissime creature che sono gli elefanti 🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️❤️ Grazie per il video 🎉
18:58 that was hilarious 😂 Oh, Bubi, you are so cute. They're all precious and innocent. What a privilege to share this beautiful planet with them. ❤️🐘❤️
Hi! From north Carolina charlotte! I love this education on stripping bark! I now understand how they take care of themselves! This is so awsome! Thank you!
Very interesting video again at stripping bark Each one has his own methods Jabulani is showing little Timisa how to strip barks on bigger trees and she has been putting it into practice Then Timisa shows Khanyisa how to remove smaller pieces of bark from a trunk left by Tokwe but she got bored and left little Miss Sunshine on her own Khanyisa became very skilful with her growing tusks and new feeding technics Somopane and Sebakwe have such amazing tusks that stripping bark is no problem for them This only confirms that the Ellies are very intelligent and very aware of their environment in every season and harvest what is best for them while respecting nature. Thank You Adine, Tigere, Last for your welcomed comments
Another episode in this wonderful series, explaining elephant behaviour clearly, showing various examples of the behaviour and thus making it easy when viewing the herd to understand their interaction. Thank you, it is fun and educational at the same time. ❤
Elephants are quite resourceful when it comes to their diet. After stripping the bark from tree branches, they often consume the inner layers of the wood, which are rich in nutrients. However, they don't typically eat the larger, tougher parts of the branches. Instead, they focus on the softer, more digestible parts.
Debarking is such a painstaking task! It's a wonder they ever feel satisfied after so much hard work for such a small amount. Must be worth all the effort! 🥰🙏❤️🐘
That's an amusing thought! Elephants have incredibly sensitive hearing, so it's possible that certain high-pitched sounds might bother them, just like the sound of nails on a chalkboard can make us cringe.
Carpenters Knife Tree Stripping Service, at your service. 🫡✌️🤣 Finish one tree before starting on another. Human Elephants are excellent conservationists, people should take note.
Clever, clever ellies! Love learning more about you all the time🩷
💙🐘💙
So amazing watching their dexterity!
Yet another very educational video, well done!
Thank you for sharing this very informative and educational video. Amazing work using tusks and trunk...
Good morning to the ellies, and the staff at HERD! My fix with coffee and the ellies! Khanyisa has matured so beautifully! From PA in US!
Thank you so much for another fascinating and very informative video. Elephants are truly amazing with the abilities they possess!! 💚🐘💚
Always interesting and educational. Khanyisa is a fast learner, getting rather proficient with trunk and tusk. 🐘😊
Good morning from Oregon State! Always enjoy your videos and learning so much more about the beautiful elephants.
I can never get enough Khanyisa! I just love how much we learn from this series. Thank you so much.

Good morning HERD, from Denver, Colorado. Good to see the elephants out eating tree bark. Hello to Owen. 🙏❤️

That was fun watching Somopane in slo-mo. It looked like he was fully enjoying that bark with his eyes closed 😊
Little pink is becoming an expert at bark stripping ❤❤❤❤🐘🐘🐘🐘😘😘😘

It is so sweet how jabulani dropped a bit of Branch for Khanyisa to munch on!!
People underestimate the intelligence of animals. Elephants are very clever.
i talk about that almost everyday

Nice. Bubi exhibited the elephant behavior, 'you annoyed me, look at my butt'. 17:50
Thanks for another great video, lovely to see Jabulani sharing, just a thought, Do most of the tree's not felled, recover. 🤗🐘❤️🌳🌳🌳
The elephant is a marvel of nature's engineering! I love watching these behavior videos and learning more about my favorite animal. Thank you! 😊
Elephants are truly fascinating creatures, and we're glad you enjoy learning about them.
Hi khanisa ❤️💕. Hi all elephants 🐘❤️ and all animals. Hi all of you 🍀
Hi Candida!🌳

Thank you for examples of elephant behavior.
Rain, bet it makes that bark more yummy.
Amazing work.
Just so beautiful thank you for sharing 🎉😂😂❤

Khanyisa is so cute! I just love her tushs which have grown a lot! 👏❤️👍🐘😘
Those tusks are definitely impressive!
Thank you!

This is similar to our Canadian beavers. After cutting down a tree that they like such as poplar they chew off the bark.
Good morning! Thanks for these informative videos. Do elephants eat what’s left of the bigger tree branches after the bark is gone?
Elephants are quite resourceful when it comes to their diet. After stripping the bark from tree branches, they often consume the inner layers of the wood, which are rich in nutrients. However, they don't typically eat the larger, tougher parts of the branches. Instead, they focus on the softer, more digestible parts.
@ thank you for sharing your expertise.
Thank you for this! Love Herd.
🙏🐾👏🐘🍼Nature at its best!!!🍼🐘👏🐾🙏
Khanyisa is very good now at stripping bark. And today I notice that her tusks have grown longer. Must be from calcium she got from the milk.
Debarking is such a painstaking task! It's a wonder they ever feel satisfied after so much hard work for such a small amount. Must be worth all the effort! 🥰🙏❤️🐘
They are very selective about the trees they choose to debark and are very efficient at extracting the most nutritious parts.🐘🌳
our princess is so intelligent♥♥♥♥♥
If you gave an elephant a chalkboard to play with, would their faces match some of ours whenever someone scratches one?
That's an amusing thought! Elephants have incredibly sensitive hearing, so it's possible that certain high-pitched sounds might bother them, just like the sound of nails on a chalkboard can make us cringe.

Who narrates this?
The narration you're hearing is by Sue, a freelancer who has a wonderful way of describing elephant behaviours.
