My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. So glad you are being careful about the sun but please don't forget the tops and backs
of your ears. I knew someone who was outside alot and always wore a baseball cap but forgot about his ears. He ended up with a very large cancer on the back of his ear and had to have most of his ear amputated. So please use that sunscreen on your whole ear. Backs especially and the tops too. And keep up the great work. I love your Vlogs.

Hi Jess, I grew up as a redhead (lots of freckles). I use coppertone sport and I just talked to my dermatologist who said banana boat 50 is great for face, neck, chest etc. My daughter has same color hair as you and must be careful not to burn.
Blue lizard is great at blocking rays also!
@@michaela2129 yesss! I got blue lizard for the first time this year for my kids and they are super pale and haven’t burned not the slightest bit! I love it!

My granddaughter Orla has very little hair still at 20 months Jess. Much like when your daughter Eddie was lito. It's red through and through. Not surprised though. There is a lot of red in our family . Also her mum. My sons girlfriend is a deep red. I'm so jealous of your mum's cabin. Your lake trips look amazing. I love all things out doors. Not into anything like embroidery ect. I do like to paint though. New found hobbie. Love your family. Growing up so fast Jess. 😍😍
I hope you don’t think this is bad taste, but I think it’s important. Be very careful with this kayaks where the kids legs are hidden, if they overturn they may become stuck, it’s very important to do a kayak roll course if you are going to use them. Or alternatively stick to the sit on top kayaks x
I’m a kid and have been using kayaks for a while my fam does a tag color each two kayaks there’s normally 10 kayak and paddle boards and stuff going so if I’m yellow and I’m the oldest of my color I’m in charge of the other kayak in my group (I’m normally the oldest since my group is always my 8 year old cousin and my 3 year old cousins he sits in my kayak so there safe if you know how to get out and stay in groups of 2 plus kayavjsy

Jess, I would love to know how you make sure all the kids are safe around water as there’s so many of them? I’m a mum of 2 boys and the water is my biggest fear, so much so that I don’t let my boys in any water apart from a pool because my anxiety is so high about it! It probably sounds stupid but I wish I wasn’t like this so would love to know how you do it/not worry etc. Drowning is my biggest fear, and they can both swim etc but all I ever hear is kids drowning, getting into trouble in the water and nothing scares me more. I feel like a horrible mum for not letting them do something they would enjoy so much. Your such a great mum and I just want to be more chilled like you 😭 please help me lol xx
Staying in groups and setting boundaries… make sure you have appropriate safety equipment like life jackets ete….

Sunburn situation- I am the same and I burn to a crisp every summer. I need to be more mindful so I got a long sleeve rash guard for myself to wear over a one piece bathing suit. I actually found it at Sam’s club. I have been wearing that with a hat all summer and I haven’t gotten a single burn! Try it out. I didn’t think I’d like a long sleeve bathing suit but it actually dries pretty fast and I can just take the long sleeve shirt off when I’m done swimming because I have a one piece bathing suit underneath.

@@Lifewithjessandmatt You probably should have been. Most kids need a booster until about age 10. If the seat belt sits across their neck, they need a booster seat. My grandma tells me stories of babies riding in the back window of the car and being just fine, that doesn't mean it's safe.

Hey Jess-- I noticed it took you longer to process Grammy's passing compared to GiGi. Were you closer with Grammy? I am just checking in, to make sure you are not dealing with complex grief.
She didn’t film for a week or so after Gigi passed so I don’t think we saw all of the big emotions whereas we did see when Grammy passed, I think that’s why it seems like it’s different.
