It’s like the Twilight Zone because I swear The Meg has talked publicly about how important fit and tailoring are for fashion! She seems to “know” at least SOMETHING about this stuff. She did a pretty decent job with her Vogue issue and the SmartWorks outfit, and she claims to have learned a ton from helping with her own wardrobe on Suits. And she did look good on Suits! She was better dressed on that show and in public during those years than she ever has been since. No giant man pants, no staggering like a shaky little foal in shoes that are hanging off, no flouncing around at weddings with her bra out. So how/why has she gone so wrong?! Who knows. It’s the mystery of The Meg. 🔮

Got no fashion sense at all. Looks like she had the outfit off Simon Cowell, Head judge on X Facror and Britain's Got Talent. She's and old tramp NOT a young, beautiful fashion model or a REAL LADY like Catherine The Princess of Wales who can wear something from H& M and make it look like Chanel or YSL. She looks great in anything and does'nt have to try too hard. High street fashions look like designer wear on this gorgeous young lady.Catherine gets 10000% when it comes to fashion and carrying clothing off as a wel as she does. Skidmarkle gets ----- 0, she looks like a bag person who wears rags and thinks she she looks great, If she thinks Prince William wants her she is absolutely deluded. He has a gorgeous wife and family at home, he DOE'NT want a scrag end of fatty mutton like Skidmarkle. He DOES have standards and NOT THAT hard up dressed like a hooker, all fur coat and no knickers.
I saw a photo of Eve Longoria in a pair of wide leg trousers the other day an she looked gorgeous. They had 1 pleat, but fit and hit the ground but no puddle. And she is tiny.
I am so happy with this wide-leg trend. For many years I didn't find jeans that would fit around my upper thighs and yet were not too large around my waist. Also, skinny jeans make my legs look like chicken drumsticks. I bought two pairs of black jeans recently and hope they will last till my dying day.
Getting the “right” jeans is like taking part in the jeans olympics. I have long legs but a curvy hip/ bum and then a very small waist. It’s very difficult to get jeans that work.
MM's arrogant attitude is terrible. She has a no nonsense attitude about everything. Especially in dress codes. It was not clear what she was doing when she appeared in public with Catherine. They had gone to watch a game. What did the hat in her hand have to do with it? Same with the Queen too. She was required to wear a hat in the presence of the Queen. But she accompanied the queen with sloppy hair. I am not British. But her attitude was repulsive even to me. There isn't much to say about the pants. I believe she is confused about what to do to attract attention. Everything should be about "herself". She does everything for this.
My understanding about the "hat in the hand" is that at Wimbledon you are banned from wearing hats and it can obstruct others viewing of the game. Obviously Duchy Del Taco was not aware of this rule or she was and thought she'd get away with wearing it thinking there would be no one seated within ten rows of her like the stunt she pulled attending Wimbledon with her friends.
Back in the 80s the pleats were suppose to hide a tummy. However the pleats turned in or out can make a difference. The tam pants reminded of the pants that Katherine Hepburn use to wear.
Excellent video. Take a picture to embrace reality. We tend to have a certain mental image of ourselves, a picture allows us to see what others see. Love your videos, keep them coming.
These are perfect for me. It may look like hell on me but it covers up my prosthetic. I found cute, wide leg. Bib overalls. I bought like eight of them. I don't care about style, I just like to be completely covered. It's so funny watching you when your not happy with the style. The look on your face is hilarious. Like your disappointed with a five year old.😅
Beebs is always encouraging people to ultimately wear what they like and feel comfortable in,even if it doesn't meet someone else's sense of style and fit. As someone who can feel tags, seams and often feels claustrophobic in the loosest of clothing, I struggle to find anything that I feel comfortable in. I wear whatever I don't want to immediately rip off, fit, style, be darned. I would make a terrible fashion icon, though. I think can live with that.
Yes, my cousin married a woman who had her leg shot off by her brother in a hunting accident.. she used crutches (her dad told her it was vane to want a plastic leg!!), until she got a job, she worked and sang in a nightclub, as she could wear a long dress, sit on a stool and then they'd open the curtains. The first thing she saved for was an artificial leg (while most of us wanted a car, or a holiday, or fancy clothes.... just a leg, so she could walk like everyone else!!) I had to admire her, but the tough life she had as a kid, she had a few mental health issues, had a problem with alcohol, she had some deamons to fight 😢😢😢
15:00 Excellent advice on selecting trends rather than following all. There is no need to join a trend if they make you look clownish or uncomfortable.
"Oxford Bags" were a thing back in the day... the waistband was high/fitted (often a buckle-back or sides) and soft pleat at front and drape down from buttock/hip. One needed the platform shoes not to look dumpy.
I’m short waisted as well. I tried to get with the high waisted trend but it honestly doesn’t suit me. It was actually my husband who pointed it out and he’s so right. Mid rise flatters me so much better. Thankfully brands are catching on and making jeans in the newer straight styles but with mid rise!
Hi Kelly, thank you for your video. You are an extraordinary teacher, you never criticize unkindly like many people. rather, you give advice on how to use our body shape to our advantage to look our best. It's not easy when you have a stomach and you're also small to find the right clothes, but thanks to you I choose my clothes better. How many times have I bought a piece of clothing that I never wore or only wore once, but it's now over! thank you and have a nice day, from Montreal, Quebec.
Over the years, I have seen a lot of people who think that any trends can be worn successfully if you are young, which is not always the case. Great advice ❤
I'm old enough to remember the "bell bottom" type pants of the 70s. Didn't like them then, don't like them now. And I can't help bit think circus stilt walker when I see anyone wearing wide leg pants even if they look good. But people should wear what they like. If a person is comfortable in what they wear and carries themselves with real confidence, the clothes fade into the background.
I wore bell bottoms in the 70's too. I wouldn't wear them now at 77 but I do love a boot cut jean and I think they are flattering for a lot of people. I'm only 5'4" so I try to look taller and make my legs look a little longer.
This takes me to the 1930s 1940s mens trousers where the 'waist' was on the chest & the pockets were on the mid torso. You could do it with braces & a kooky colour or just give it a rest & join the circus.
My cousins have always worn WLPs, each with different body features. They are all elastic waiste bands, that way the wearer controls the amount of volume all around. Yes, they make their own.
This was so helpful! I want to try these but I know I'd probably look like Meg. The sailor pants I think will be the best option. Thank you for addressing this trend with different body types!
I remember someone trying to say the pants Meghan are wearing are “elephant pants” and are in style. I can’t imagine how. Sometimes, the pants I see Meghan wearing look like they could be too big for Harry who is over 6 feet tall. She wears some huge pants!
Fantastic tutorial, you explained every aspect of wide legged pants so thoroughly. I like the Sailor style of pants, with the buttons at the hips, but as I'm short, not brave enough to attempt wearing them. Apart from anything else, The Meg makes wide legged pants look so awful, it makes me feel I wouldn't be seen dead wearing them! You look so beautiful again today! Just like Princess Catherine - you look wonderful in every colour! You have a happy day too!
Hey Beebs😊I don’t think the pants that are wide from top look good on anyone!! It reminds me of my grandpa, he used to have them belted around his chest!! Meg just tries to start trends and it fails miserably.🤮🤮thank you Beens❤
I love that you added pics of bigger bodies, because we sometimes see too much of everything "in skinny" and wonder how we can make it work with a tummy.
Except then, women actually went to tailors and had them hemmed properly and looked like Katherine Hepburn. Now women shlump around like chimney sweeps!
This video is the best one out there describing in detail the do's and don'ts of wearing wide legged trousers. And I've viewed many videos by "stylists." My first issue has been seeing people with the wide-legged trousers but you can't see their feet-this video addresses that issue perfectly. I could not understand why covering the foot entirely would ever be considered stylish-I know I would be tripping over the voluminous amount of fabric especially if the trouser leg is covering up my foot. On the other side of the coin, the shorter wide legged trousers where the ankle is visible look like "flood-water pants" imo. So, I think I will be staying away from the new wide legged styles.😊 Edit: Beebs, please send this video to Meghan…
What is funny is that in an interview before joining the royal family, Meghan went on and on about the importance of dressing for your body type, knowing what works for you, etc.. What a hypocrite she was.
I’m very heavy & super fond of what you called the “double skirt” pants. They look pretty good on me with a long flowy tunic over them. I’m tall, so this doesn’t shorten my legs. I wear very bright patterns & a solid top. It’s fun & funky. Plus, I can wear one of my many necklaces. Maybe it’s dated, but it works for me. I don’t really care much if other people don’t like it, as I’m 54 & not necessarily trying to follow trends, just buy what I like & is super comfortable. Thanks Beebs! Love from Oregon ♥️ Jessica
I have four wide-leg pants, all inherited from my mom, but I never use three of them because they feel so bulky. The fourth one is a flat-front, dark brown number that's super soft and hides pelvic fat really well. This proves that, like people, not all wide-leg pants are built the same.
Wide legged pants, called bell bottoms, were huge in the 1970s even for men. Styles always come back because there's a finite way for humans to wear clothes.
Beebs-loved this video!!!! Glad you are including plus size girls too. I would love to try a flare/wide leg for comfort but I feel like I understand much better what I should be looking for! Thanks you!
I appreciate you clarifying the differences currently being offered in popular stores and catalogs. It was really helpful to balance what I am seeing with what you are saying. Thanks!
Great video!! You explain these issues so thoroughly and so well. I am ride or die for skinny leg jeans and tapered trousers for the office, though. Just have to wait for them to come back around! 😅
I often wear 40s style wide leg trousers and I love them, I wear them during the summer and go a bit out with the sailor look e.g. striped shirt or plain blouse, straw hat, vintage sunglasses. But I did have to get them tailored because they dragged on the ground. My seamstress charged me £90 to hem two pairs of trousers, hem a maxi skirt and stitched up some holes in other clothes. So it's not exactly, crazily expensive for me and definitely well within her budget, even if she was going for a proper tailor with their own shop. Would love to know what is going through her head as to why she can't get things tailored.
Great video! As a short pear who also has a 28" inseam, this is very helpful. I was not a fan of skinny jeans, as I have tree trunk legs. However, I don't want to look like a refrigerator either! It seems like no trends ever flatter me! It's helpful to see less exteme examples that might be wearable for me, thanks!
I think it would benefit women and men so so much if we all got back into learning basic tailoring. I am short so my pants often are too long so I hem them myself. A couple sewing needles, thread, and scissors are all that are needed if you are even mildly skilled.
You are a nicely balanced person. At 5' 2", I am not tall either, but being very balanced and slender, I have been able to make most things work perfectly. Personally, I like being short.
Many can and do make the wide leg trousers look quite good, but it's a bit strange when they're puddling on the ground around the feet. Chunky sport shoes also do not help the look at all.
Love this video, Beebs! I learned a lot (I’m totally fashion-challenged 😅). I also enjoy your gossip video about The Dumb Prince and This One’s wife. Keep being yourself and put out awesome content for us. ❤

It’s very difficult to get jeans that work.
buy the style in every color...it's what i do😂
MM's arrogant attitude is terrible.
You may be right. She thinks she is above the "rules". This is complete nonsense.
Yes, no hats allowed in the Royal Box.
Thank you for your hard work and putting out videos almost daily. I’ve become addicted and can hardly imagine my breakfast without your videos now 🙏☺️
Back in the 80s the pleats were suppose to hide a tummy.
I love these videos. They have sass, practical suggestions, and pointing out the absurdities of the clothing of MM.
Yes. More of this style of video would be great.
I'm not a fashion icon either but I don't look like w wrinkled rag picker either 🤣🤣🤣
@@mrsterious5845 At least you are well aware of that fact. MM is completely oblivious.
Not on meghan, her leg are too short wearing these pant 🤮🤮🤮
That blue looks lovely on you
Thanks for this video. I always find your videos really informative. It baffles me that people would ever want “puddle pants”. It looks horrible!
I’ve never seen ANYONE look good in giant pants!
I remember them well!
Jessica Biel looks adorable and sophisticated at the same time. She wears the look splendidly..
I agree. Mid-rise is high-rise on short, short-waisted me. High rise goes up to bust!🙂
Beebs dahling you are so funny🎉😅😊❤
💛💛
Excellent job researching and presentation of wide leg pants. Very informative. Thanks.
No one looks good in very wide leg jeans!!! They are NOT figure flattering.
The red worn at NY Bench reading day, are the absolutely the worst.
💛💛
Over the years, I have seen a lot of people who think that any trends can be worn successfully if you are young, which is not always the case. Great advice ❤
In America, these pants were big in the 60s and 70s. But then, everything is cyclical.
You are so on point with MM.....all around better than the fashion police
I Love love love your channel! I thank Jen from Real Housewives recap for pointing us to you! When the two of you get together it is magical! 😊
Or they were called elephant bells as well. Who knew we would be cool again! Wish I'd saved mine.
If that someone was a magazine or similar outlet it's entirely possible that someone was paid to say it.
Also, like Beebs demonstrated here, they're mostly not wearing them as huge as Meghan.
Reminds me of 6 old men from Jersey around a table playing cards, with
their pants belted below the breast area. Yikes!😮
Yes the frumpy green ones are perfect for rainy movie Sundays 😂
I love boot leg jeans but here in South Africa we're still stuck in the skinny jean era - which I loathe!!
Beebs, your description of these pant’s immediately reminded me of Fred Mertz from I love Lucy!
Beebs, I agree the french tuck on you is optically elongating.
Hey Beebs😊I don’t think the pants that are wide from top look good on anyone!! It reminds me of my grandpa, he used to have them belted around his chest!! Meg just tries to start trends and it fails miserably.🤮🤮thank you Beens❤
I agree totally with you. Kind of like the things people used to call old man pants, where they have them pulled up way past the waistline.
1:12 Jessica Biel looks simply elegant in that look. She wears it perfect.
I love that you added pics of bigger bodies, because we sometimes see too much of everything "in skinny" and wonder how we can make it work with a tummy.
This style of trousers were popular for women in the 1950’s.
Except then, women actually went to tailors and had them hemmed properly and looked like Katherine Hepburn. Now women shlump around like chimney sweeps!
They called em bogarts
This video is the best one out there describing in detail the do's and don'ts of wearing wide legged trousers. And I've viewed many videos by "stylists."
My first issue has been seeing people with the wide-legged trousers but you can't see their
feet-this video addresses that issue perfectly. I could not understand why covering the foot
entirely would ever be considered stylish-I know I would be tripping over the voluminous amount of fabric especially if the trouser leg is covering up my foot.
On the other side of the coin, the shorter wide legged trousers where the ankle is visible look
like "flood-water pants" imo.
So, I think I will be staying away from the new wide legged styles.😊
Edit: Beebs, please send this video to Meghan…
Brilliant video Beebs.Thank you.😄😄😄😄😄
This was so informative! Thank you ❤
I love how you're really getting into this, love your sense of humour about The Meg
Always appreciate your honest opinions snd reviews
Great video! Thanks.
I’m 5’1, 125 lbs. I will never wide leg pants.
I have four wide-leg pants, all inherited from my mom, but I never use three of them because they feel so bulky. The fourth one is a flat-front, dark brown number that's super soft and hides pelvic fat really well. This proves that, like people, not all wide-leg pants are built the same.
Great tips!
Like the content very much...more please!
Great video. You are excellent explaining fashion.
I enjoy your videos so much. They are valuable, informative and positive. We all can look stunning when we follow your advice. Have a very happy day.
Thanks!
This was really helpful! Buying pants has been the worst for me all my life. Thank you so much!
Love this type of video!!!
Another awesome video!!
Great video!! You explain these issues so thoroughly and so well. I am ride or die for skinny leg jeans and tapered trousers for the office, though. Just have to wait for them to come back around! 😅
Great video! Thanks for the real-life examples and shopping options. Very helpful
I loved the tutorial on how to wear wide leg pants.
Definitely appreciate your advice for the short waisted!
I think it would benefit women and men so so much if we all got back into learning basic tailoring. I am short so my pants often are too long so I hem them myself. A couple sewing needles, thread, and scissors are all that are needed if you are even mildly skilled.
Great video thank you Beebs!
That's why you wore platform shoes
Love this video, Beebs! I learned a lot (I’m totally fashion-challenged 😅).
I also enjoy your gossip video about The Dumb Prince and This One’s wife. Keep being yourself and put out awesome content for us. ❤
Skinny jeans purgatory 🤣🤣🤣 Loving your Content, so much good advice packed in less than half an hour!
No,no, no. No thank you. Looks terrible on 99,9% of all people.

Totally agree, especially the really wide ones. No thanks! 😊
