I did a test tap February 28th and nothing was flowing it was 43 degrees and 23 at night today its going the be about the same and then its cold for two more weeks. Planning on doing full tap March 17th I can't believe how early you start... I only run for one week and get enough for the year and to give some away. How much sap is your goal to collect?

Also sap that doesn't freeze I deal with tons of ICE in the buckets.... do you dump your ice or boil? I always boil I can't see sugar not freezing in with sap.
