Wonderful recipe! I have only just found your channel and am sooo happy and excited that I did. I have shared many of your videos along with a message to my friends and family that your recipes are amazingly easy to follow and you can almost taste the results from watching the videos. I have been baking since I was very young and I love trying and collecting recipes from all over. You are extremely talented and are a great baker and cook. You totally appear to be enjoying what you’re making whether it’s savory or sweet. I can’t wait to try and make as many of your recipes and share them with family and friends. I also think they will be a sellout at fundraiser events! Excellent work and a complete joy to watch. Thank you from Southern California ❤
Thank you so much! I love to hear things like this! It really puts a big smile on my face! I'm so glad you've enjoyed everything and I really appreciate you spreading the word about Sugar Spun Run. I hope you have lots and lots of success at your fundraising events. :)
I just finished making this and it turned out great! Your explanation of how to do everything was so helpful as I've never made Tiramisu before! Can't wait to share with my family tonight, Christmas Eve. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!! And it seems like so much work for just one person...ME, sitting in a closet eating the whole thing! I'm kidding, though I probably could. I suppose I'll share a piece with my son. Sam, you make everything look so fun and easy. And at the end of every one of your videos, when you slice and taste, my mouth waters! You always brighten my day with your beautiful smile and sweet spirit. You are a blessing to me. Thanks for another great yummy lesson! God bless...
Thank you very much for the recipe. I'm sure that it'll be our favorite. WOW! There're a lotta steps. I'm sure that I can handle it. As always; you explain all of the details, perfectly. Thanks.
Great recipe, can't wait to try this out. You brought up the sign language someone learned to ask for food in the kitchen. We recently adopted our third chimpanzee and at four months she's already picking up on sign language. Her two older "brothers" use sign language when "talking" to each other. It's not always easy to see what they are saying...or planning. Anyway, great recipe...thanks very much!
similar to mine! (mine uses marsala wine, i've seen some use a combination of marsala, amaretto, and kahlua.) the reason i like marsala wine is because you can get cooking varieties of it, which are very affordable compared to the other boozes. you actually want the cheap cooking marsala, too - the one i pick up is lightly salted, and the salt undertone really enhances the sweet flavor of the tiramisu.
Hey Sam! Love the channel, been watching about a year now. Your videos are literally perfect. Well explained, thought out, and beautifully executed, as a pastry chef it's very refreshing to have content like yours to look forward to that is precise and elegant without being pretentious. Keep up the great work. Ever thought about doing a Q&A vid where we kinda get to know you a little better? How you started, how you learned, fav recipes etc
And I thought it couldn't get any better, but I was watching a walk thru of your photo studio on IG and saw on your wall that you're a fellow Marylander!!! 😊
Thank you so much! I will consider doing a Q&A one day. I do take the time to do ask me anythings on IG, but I know they aren't quite the same. Thanks for following along. :)
Thank you so much for the recipe. I made this using your ladyfingers recipe (which turned out great and was easier than trying to hunt them down). It was so delicious. This is such a easy recipe and I know that this will be great to share with company. Thank you so much. You never steer me wrong!
Hi Sam..that looks delicious..for ur zebra cake can u please tell me how many table spoon of cornstarch do I need to use for 2 and 3/4 cup flour to make my own cake flour please reply
I often wonder what tiramisu would be like substituting a vanilla sponge cake for the ladyfingers layers. I think it would definitely hold up better than the ladyfingers and also retain more of the coffee liquid...Thoughts anyone?
You can leave it out, but you’ll lose some of the signature flavor. You will most likely need a bit more coffee for soaking your ladyfingers, so brew a bit more to make up for the missing liquid. Or you can use Marsala wine, brandy, or coffee flavored liqueur (like Kahlua) may be substituted. Some recipes use almond liqueur, which I haven’t tried but it sounds delicious. Keep in mind that each of these variations has their own distinct flavor and will result in a different final taste to the tiramisu recipe, so make sure you choose an alcohol that has a taste that’s enjoyable to you. :)
I'll tell you a secret, the original and "perfect" Tiramisù doesn't contain any alcohol or cream at all. Just Mascarpone, eggs, coffee, lady fingers (Savoiardi), sugar and cocoa powder...
I was about to write the same. Cream, rum, and vanilla extract are definitely not part of the original recipe, but I was positively surprised by the fact she used only egg yolks, like tradition teaches.
Sam? Is there an "alternative" to the Rum? Neither I or my roommates drink...lol ..so, we literally have NO Alcohol in our house. Do you "have" to use Rum?

@@SugarSpunRun yes ma'am, I will do that! Thank You for responding so quickly...I DID have a question; are you from the Northern Virginia/Baltimore area? I had recognized a possible "accent!" @@SugarSpunRun I made it like five times and each time I end up cooking my eggs, I think my sugar grains were little bit big that’s why they weren’t melting properly also, I was very nervous since I have horrible experiences with tiramisu that I just messed it up. I end making it with the cooked eggs and it was not it. I’ll give it another go
I'll try this..love tiramisu
Hope you love my recipe ❤️

ty, it was delicious. the hardest incredient to track down was the cheese portion for the tiramisu especially you live in a small town.
Well done! I use even the egg whites and make them in to peaks. Mi clients LOVE my Tiramisú ❤

Hi is this a cheesecake somewhat an if it is cheesecake dont need cofee so can i skip the coffee
Does it have to have rum? I don’t have it in the house and it would be a lot to buy this jsut for the tiramisu

Hi is this an your baked cheesecake the same thing
They are actually quite different. :)
Can you use creamcheese instead
Hmmm I haven't tried it. I think it could work though. Let me know how it goes if you try it. :)
Do you need to use rum and coffee and for the egg yolks do you need to bake it so you won't get someella
The eggs are cooked on the stove top. You will need the coffee. For the rum you can check out my blog post for some good substitutes. ☺️
An i did use lady fingers
You are super cute n talented
Thank you! 😊
this is definitely something else not a cheesecake , something different its first time I used cream cheese in a dessert which isn't a cheesecake
An also im just wondering why u used egg an u have not bake it
🦑🦑🦑 Kraken rum lol !

You don't need to make cake here...

Can you taste the coffee I dont drink coffeee
Yes the coffee is a very pronounced flavor in the tiramisu. ☺️
I did have a issue , i was not able to slice it , i had to use a spoon
💖👼🏻🌺
Next time il add sum cornflour to get a firmer dessert
Hi I was under the impression that when a dessert calls for cream cheese it's called a cheesecake
Why so much coffee when you only dip the lady fingers? Seems like a waste.
You need to have enough volume to dip the cookies halfway each side. If you can get away with less no problem.
early!
Nope. Like my Tiramisu original.
Everyone has their own tastes. 😊
I knew you wouldn’t use raw eggs in the recipe, can’t wait to try them 😋
I tried to make it today but the sugar wasn’t melting I don’t know why :(
O no! If you still feel a little bit of grit after cooking that's ok. It will dissolve while refrigerating. I hope it turned out for you.

Turn your heat down when cooking the eggs. That may help
