The overall lore is incredible and the ending just breaks your heart but then ignites it with Ark 2 reveal

God I fucking love Ark. As many tough moments where life felt unfair in the game, I love it. Tons of hours, tons of bases, tons of people met. Thank you WildCard for an awesome game. It had its flaws but the story and the times I had were so fun. Can't wait for Ark 2!!!!

I'm a bit embarassed to say this but I've been playing Ark for like...3 years now and just now I discovered there was a story behind and took such a turn! The end for me, like...it hit me kinda hard 🥺😅
Partially the same for me, I knew there was a story to it but I never knew how in depth it was until I started looking into it. Wildcard put effort into the lore.
@@noodlyboi101 how do you start the story? Is it through bosses and I’m assuming you begin on the island. I’m possibly going to start a single player play through but don’t really know where or how to begin.

Absolutely! I've played almost 400 hours and while I heard about the story ages ago I never managed to beat any bosses let alone the final ones lol. The story is way cooler than you'd expect from a game where you can get eaten by turtles and poop on command

I started day one. Followed the game from the first video. Played my own server with a select few. It was an amazing experience. Games are the interactive stories of our age. As a group we have been entreated to another world in our lifetime. Thank you wild card studios.
No matter what people say, no matter what bugs we encountered in 6 years, I am happy I was able to play, live and enjoy this masterpiece, THANK YOU ARK AND WILDCARD, it has been an amazing journey. I will miss you and I will patiently wait for ARK 2, ahhh the nostalgia kicks in.

Extinction was supposed to be the end of ark, but it sold well enough for genesis to be a thing.
There's a Tek Explorer note that foreshadowed Extinction. This note is in a beginner area on *The Island.*

Looking back on these cutscenes makes me so nostalgic and sad because I remember playing with all my friends beating the bosses messing around and having fun, I only still speak to one of the 7...

I never played with anyone. But recently, I convinced my bro to play ark. Currently playing with him and his gf. I have been playing since years ago. They are only 1 or 2 weeks into the game. I probably will relate to this in the future.

The game is called Ark and it has strong scifi undercurrents. I'm sure a lot of people assumed that at some point a ship carrying the last bastion of life on earth into deep space was going to be part of the end-game.
The 'ReMembEr wHen ArK wAS a DinOSauR gAmE???' people got me lulzin all these years later.

And it all started with a simple dino game a few years ago where I struggled to tame a trike standing on top of a rock while shooting with a slingshot or taming a Rex that took more than 6 hours... I love ark no matter what and I love the Tek stuff but I miss the old time when I had fun playing the game with my brother and on some random servers finding friends and such...

Ark has some of the best lore in any game ever.
It's so interesting because the dinos you tame may be the same kind the ones in the lore also used, you get to experience what the lore-characters experienced, it's a very hands on feeling which adds to the epicness. While Ark itself may be a buggy mess in many annoying ways..(still spent 3k hours on it) , the story is undoubtedly awesome.

the ending was so sad, in ark 2 they should have it where parts of HLN-A could be found and recreated, with a glitch in it where edmund had fused in with HLN-A so that both work together. this would make a really good part in the game

I really hope they take everything they learned from ark 1 and really put it to use in ark 2 there are so many people that love this game for me it is number 2 with only mass effect surpassing it I truly hope the next game can become just as great if not better

Even giving myself godmode and beating the bosses (again) the ascension has such a powerful feel to it

If I had to rank the 3 main features of Ark from worst to best, I’d say:
3rd- the gameplay
2nd- the story
1st- the music
